Pinkcat- Last night I tried to wait to check on her until she actually cried- She wakes up and grunts or talks and I would usually go in, but I think I may have gotten her into the habit that she can see me all night. Usually I rock her to sleep and then lay her down. She was full term, but only 4lb 14oz when she was born, so the first two months we had to feed her every one to two hours... but now I'm so tired all of the time.

Thanks for the suggestions! I am going to the store today so hopefully I will be able to come home with some healthier things to eat and I'll just concentrate on that for now and maybe trying to get more water in. I will try to figure out the exercise thing later, I guess.

I weighed myself this morning and I'm down a little bit, so that's good. I'm hoping I can try to keep heading in that direction now - it's definitely motivation to keep going. I kind of forgot how good it feels to lose weight!

@VALATWYO -- That is a lot to be waking up! Maybe time to re-evalulate the bedtime and routine, and talk to the pediatrician about tips for when she wakes up at night. My daughter went through a thing at about 9 mos where she just missed us and would cry for company, so we had to cut out the rocking and just soothe her in her crib. Also, we have to put her down for the night when she's still awake. It was rough at first, but we're back to sleeping through the night now.

@PATIENCEMICHELLE -- JULIAL3 is right. Give yourself a break, and then start to workout as you see a routine forming. Go easy on yourself!! For dinners... the crockpot is your friend! I also planned out meals on Sundays, and tried to batch-cook a couple of things on the weekends that we could eat for quick meals all week. Soups, stews, meatballs... anything to make it easier for you to throw together something quick and healthy. It's like take-out in your own fridge!

I know how you feel. I have been there on done that. I can only tell you that things will get better. It is still early in the baby stage that the word schedule does not exist. Give it a few more weeks and you will start to see one. Then during one of the naps do a little work out. As far as the food thing goes I struggled with this for a long time. The key for me, was on sunday afternoons I would go to the store and pick up everything to make a weeks worth of great salads. I got tupperware containers and shredded diced and chopped everything put the salads together in the containers and done were my lunches for the week. I also LOVE sugar free jello. It gives you a little sweetness and is just yummy. Anyhow, I hope that some of this will help.
Hang in there. emoticon

Hey everyone! My baby is 7.5 weeks now and I am still trying to just get started losing the rest of my weight. I gained about 60 pounds and lost about 30 by 2 weeks PP and then gained about 10 of it back. So I've got about 40 pounds to lose before I'm back at my pre-pregnancy weight. I keep fluctuating between about 227-231.

Money and time seem very scarce these days. I have no idea how I'm going to get this weight loss going again. Baby is not really on a regular schedule yet so every day is different. I have taken him for a couple of walks and hope do do it more when it cools down, but I'd really like some alone time to exercise. I'd love to start a C25K again but I don't see that happening anytime soon. And forget about having enough time or money to go to a gym! I just don't know what to do!

I feel sort of overwhelmed. I don't work right now but I still feel like I can't get anything done these days so I don't cook. I don't have a microwave either so as far as food goes I need healthy, quick, and simple and I think I've forgotten how to do that.

Anyway, I need to do something. I have no clothes that fit, so I'm still wearing my mat pants a lot. I feel and look awful and I need more energy.

Wow, I was really nervous about weighing in, I did not gain anything! It is not great since I like to see the # going down but there is nothing worse then seeing them go up. So I am still on track and getting myself back in a healthy routine.

wow that is a lot for an 8 month old. How long do you wait to go check on her when she wakes up? Do you let her go to sleep on her own or do you rock/nurse to sleep?

I can't believe I am down over 70 pounds since last year!

Any suggestions from anyone would be greatly appreciated- my 8 month old daughter is still getting up 2-3 times at night. It makes it really hard to stay motivated to work out in the daytime. Any ideas at all would be appreciated!!

wow moxy that is great!

@Julia- its amazing how bad that food makes your stomach feel, esp when you see how "normal" it can feel on a daily basis

Today is my weigh in day...I know I lost a lot (still losing birth fluids) but I was bad and had chinese last night, makes my stomach unhappy eating such horrible food. I will have a better day today!

so nervous about weighing in tonight. The last couple of days have been so crazy busy and I have not been able to eat as healthy as I should have. Not to mention that for a last fun trip of the summer we took the boys to a water park and spent the weekend eating junk food. The only plus side is that after eating so healthy the last 2 months, spluring and eating pizza and what not was KILLER! I felt like I had a huge brick in my gut. Lesson learned.

Nervous to see what the scale says tomorrow- I have been getting discouraged to see the #s go UP and I need a break, seeing it in its regular 150-152 range. Eating better (went through two whole things of celery in two days) but getting more stressed and I didn't get to do any formal workouts this weekend. Ugh.

Good luck all! It's a new week with new possibilities!

The last few pounds are SO tough! I've decided that I just can't stress about it. Instead of focusing on weight loss, I'm reframing exercise as just better enjoying the remaining nice summer weather. Today I had a long walk with a cousin (with the baby in her jogger... love that thing!) and just enjoyed the beautiful morning. Tomorrow I'm going for a run first thing in the morning (if I tell you all, I have to do it, right?), and then swimming later in the afternoon.

I'm hoping that if I get out and play, and the pounds will start dropping again. Fingers crossed!

it is very tough when you are close to the end. I was stuck at 160 for a good 4-5 months before I got pregnant. This time I'm going to do the p90x in hopes of having a program challenging enough and one that is always mixing things up every 3 weeks to keep my body guessing.

Maybe buying a new piece of workout gear will motivate you? Like new workout clothes or shoes? I got a heart rate monitor for my b-day that I can't wait to use and really need to buy new shoes too

I can't believe I am down over 70 pounds since last year!

hey moxy

I like to make a fruit salad. Its pretty basic I just grab whatever fruit i have on hand,(if you let bananas soak in orange juice they do not turn brown) cut them up into a bowl and save left overs for snacking...good to throw into yogurt too. Oh I also discovered activia desserts the vanilla bean is delicious!

I'm back at work, giving my husband a week alone with the kid (he's a teacher and goes back next week).

I feel like I've been eating not well and not exercising. Blech. But the food thing- what are your go to foods to have in the house to eat and cook well? I tend to go with baby carrots, but there's only so much of that I can eat before my guts tell me to cut it out! Any suggestions?

Heading back to afternoon wii today (I hope I hope!!)

Have fun and good luck!

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for checking in! There is no doubt that trying to lose weight when you're a mom is HARD. I'm so glad you have come to this group for help and support. Without going on for too long, I think the number one piece of advice I can give to all you new mommies (and you experienced ones too) is...DON'T STRESS! I know that's almost impossible but stressing out about everything that's going on just makes things worse. One of my favorite quotes is "Worrying is like praying for something you don't want". Isn't that great? So instead of worrying about things, turn it around and try to find a way to make it better. I will check in again tomorrow! Always remember how incredible you are!!

Hi Smilie I was on babyfit too on the August 2010 team as 2ndkitten.

Well ladies, I lost 15 pounds this week (all water and such from having a baby) Which means I will be under 200 very very soon!

I can't believe I am down over 70 pounds since last year!

Hi Ladies! I haven't checked in here in a LONG time either. I have been lacking motivation for about a month now. I was doing awesome in June and most of July doing the C25K program, then got hit with bronchitis, and two other bouts of stomach flu and it just really threw a wrench in things! I just don't feel all that great, and I am always tired, but I think most of that is due to lack of exercise. I've decided that today I will get a run in for the first time in weeks, and try to break the cycle of being too tired to exercise.

Great to see all these new mamas on here!!

@ Megan (AshtonsMommy): My son is 19 months now but I remember going back to work @ 8 weeks and trying to get a routine...it is super tough! It took a while, but now I can get us out the door in about an hour to an hour and a half in the AM, and if I get up an hour early even work out, so that's what I try to do. Hang in there, it does get easier!

@IRun: I try to get up a little over an hour early in the AM to run or go to the gym...otherwise I am the same way and it usually doesn't get done.

@IRUN - do you take your kids to the gym with you? Before I became pregnant with my new baby, I took my 2 year old with me to the daycare area of my gym and it was SOOOO nice to have an hour to myself without interruptions to listen to my music and workout, and my 2 year old loved playing with the other kids.

@Gabby - I agree, we need some kind of challenge for Sept!

@Julia - I know what you mean about looking back at your vacation photos and thinking..wow lets burn these! Guess what? With your weight in the 200s you can lose a lot of weight pretty fast. I did last time around and hope it works the same way this time too. We can keep each other motivated and I'm sure lots of the ladies here would love to share their weight loss tips!

I can't wait until we are all hot mommas...worthy of those swimsuit pics emoticon

Hello Mommies,
I just wanted to say and and give a little info on myself. My name is Julia and I am 28, married with three boys (Quinn 6, Gavin 2, Colin 1). Ever since I got pregnant with my first son I have really struggled with my weight, I kept on putting it off thinking next week, next month, next year. And I never did it. Like I said my youngest (and last) is 1 and I no longer have an excuse I need/have/want to do this. Last October I went on a cruise with my two sisters and mom, it was a blast. Until I saw the pics and was mortified to see myself. Ugh!! My husband and I are planning on taking our oldest on a cruise in March and I am bound and determined that I will not be confused for a beached whale this time. So, I am working really hard, and like most things most times we have fallen off the "wagon". The true test is getting back on. So, that is that. I am so glad this room started back up and I hope that we can all help keep each other motivated.

Good Afternoon everyone!!!

It has been so long since I've checked in last. I started my new job last week and I'm sooo overwhelmed. But I'm loving it. I'm getting used to being so tired and getting used to being away from the babies for such a long time.

I feel like I have so much to say so I'll re check in later, but I think about this team all the time. We have to get a challenge going for September...maybe a back to basics, since there are so many new people and with babies being born. Have a fantastic afternoon ladies!!!!!

Hi Everyone,
Well my husband got excited about losing weight, and started our own 2 person Biggest Loser. There is a monetary reward for the winner in October, but I have been having a hard time losing weight. He has been steady dropping :( Am tracking my food, and am really trying to fit work-outs in after work.....but my preference would always be to get the kids first. How can I not feel so stinking guilty and stressed about going to the gym?

PeridotPrincess, I'm laughing that anyone would consider a SAHM a lady of leisure! HAH! I was a little excited to come back to work after maternity leave, just so I'd be able to sit down!

I'm still trying to get into a good routine, so many months later, but at least it feels like a little less of a scramble lately. I'm becoming more ok with getting done what needs to be done, and not worrying about the rest.

I SO agree MJ!
Its really hard to be doing everything else on top of trying to find the time to make sure we eat right and get some exercise in.
So many people think stay at home mums have it easy! Im going to shoot the next person who calls me a lady of leisure! This is more stressfull then all my previous jobs put together (but also more rewarding! Hahah)

And to you mums who work full time and then come home and be a mom, salute! It cant be easy!

If we can do all that... surely we can lose a few pounds right? RIGHT!!

Come on girls! Rah rah rahhhhh! x

Just came downstairs to shut down my computer before going to bed and happened to check on this thread to see if there was activity. Boy was I surprised and THRILLED to see so many of you check in!! I think it's safe to say that the biggest challenges for us mommies is stayed motivated and finding time to fit in workouts while sleep deprived! Rest assured that you are not alone ladies! It's not easy (sorry!) but you can do it! Just hang in there and NEVER GIVE UP! I will check in with you all again in the morning!

Hello my fellow mothers-

I am the mom to an almost 8 month old baby girl. I joined this group about 5 months ago....and well, have been a bit unmotivated and out of my pre-pregnancy weight groove....until last Tuesday. My goal is to lose 60 lbs. Last week I lost 3 and am now back on track. I am back to avoided gluten and dairy and am feeling awesome and focused again. My next step is figuring out how to schedule a workout when I barely have time to sleep. I work and travel a lot for work. When I am not working I live for spending every moment with my baby. Once again today, I was focused and getting used to eating normal caloric meals . Enough about me.

I'm Jenny. I'm 28 and have been married for 8 years. I have a 7 yr old and a 2 yr old. I'm still trying to lose my baby weight from my 2 yr old. I did good for a while and then got in a slump and gained about 10 lbs of my 28 lbs lost back. I'm going to do better, though, starting today. I've got at least 20 lbs to lose to get to where I would like to be (and my try for lower than that). I need all of the motivation I can get.

I've been really bad about visiting the site honestly. My name is Megan. I'm 25 from Louisville, KY. I've been married 3 years to my great DH, Sam. We have one son, Ashton. He is 8 weeks. I just started back to work and I'm trying to get into some routine of taking care of the baby, working, AND finding time to eat right and exercise. It's tough!

Hello Ladies! I started on this board about a month ago and am glad to see there are quite a few active people here. I am trying to stay motivated and squeeze in workouts around the schedule of my 11 week old!

Hello ladies! So happy this thread is here!
I am Lyn, 30 and I have an 11 month old girl. Her name is Anya and she just took her first unaided steps an hour ago! Her dad and I are so proud!

Hope to get to know everyone better and we can keep each other motivated! xxx

Hi Ladies,
I'm the mom of a 10 month old baby girl. Still trying to figure out how to get organized and get into a good routine, but hopefully that'll come. (Right? Please?) I've been supremely unmotivated this summer, but I'm hoping for renewed energy when it cools off this fall. Fingers crossed!

Good morning Kathy! Your post reminded me that I need to update my weight on my profile. Unfortunately, it's more than is currently listed.

Not for long though!

Have a great day!

Good morning mommies and happy Monday morning! I'm determined to get back on track this morning so I got up at 6 am and did 3.1 miles on the treadmill. YAY ME! Now I need to get in the shower then get some work done before the rest of the house wakes up!

Today is my son's first day of Kindergarten! I'm so excited for him!

How are you all doing this lovely morning?

Good morning ladies! It's actually almost noon here but I am finally settling down to try and get some work done. It is such a challenge having everyone home with me. Hard to concentrate when your 8yo wants to give you a play-by-play of The Suite Life On Deck! But hubby is up now and able to hang with the kids so I have moved upstairs to WORK! Time to book some parties and get some orders ready to ship!

How is everyone doing today?

Hey MOXY! I see you are as busy as ever! Congrats on your progress! You're doing so awesome! Keep it up and you'll break through that plateau!

Kathy...WOW!...you are definitely kicking heinie!! You've already lost 49 pounds and you're still going! Keep up the great work girl!

My life has changed so much since I last talked to you guys. I have officially left the corporate world and I am now a WAHM! This just happened within the last month so I am still figuring out how to make it all work. And the kids go back to school next week so I'm going to have to figure it out all over again...but I love it! It's so awesome working for myself and spending more time with my family. Now I just have to get working out on my schedule. My plan is to work out first thing in the morning then hop in the shower and getting myself ready before I get everybody else up to get ready. Oh, AND I'm looking into going back to school to get my Personal Trainer degree. WOO HOO!

STILL trying to break under 150. Sigh. Have to go back to school next Weds and I'm doing lights for a show at the community theater while convincing the kid that a summer with mommy and daddy is ok but going to grandparents' houses every day is so much cooler! In other words, overbooked as always! ::grin:: Hope everyone's doing well!

Okay, the team has been a little slow lately so I thought I would start a new ongoing chat so we can check in and get to know each other. Looking forward to catching up with those of you I know and getting to know those of you I haven't met yet! Let's use this thread to support each other in our weight loss efforts!
