Hi everyone. Well I survived Czech Days. It's our town's annual celebration that lasts 4 days. I even ran my first race. It was only 2 miles but I've never done anything like that. I was pretty pleased with how I did and now I have a goal to try and work on this year. Unfortunately my eating was not very good this weekend. I do not make good decisions when there is food vendors. Anyway I hope that everyone had a great weekend.

I think that it would be awesome to get this team up and going again. Some teams that I am on can be a little frustrating b/c they don't realize what it's like trying to exercise while having children. This team completely understands all of the different committments parents have on a daily basis.

Hey Ladies! I am wanting to breathe life back into this team! I was very active a few years ago and have been hit or miss lately! I know that when you have a strong support group and people like you to talk through the ups and downs it was very beneficial! Hope everyone is having a good weekend and look forward to chatting more!

That's great news Mary Jane. Good luck with your training.
I'm going to try and get my exercise DVD done tonight but we'll have to see how long my MIL is at my house. I'm not too concerned b/c I got in two good workouts yesterday.

Well, let's see if we can get this daily chat restarted!
I made it to the gym today and did 25 minutes on the treadmill. Wasn't feeling up to weight lifting today. My work on the treadmill was workout # 4 of my C25K program. I am doing a 5K in July and my goal is to RUN the whole thing (okay, jog).

I don't remember if I had a problem leaking at night but I did a check online and came up with the following:
The question is mis-worded but the first answer sounds good. The responder recommends a brand called "Lily Padz" - says they're adhesive and prevents leaking. She also said they're a little more expensive but that they're reusable and can last for several months.

Well thought I would say hi. I am new to this team. First time mom. I had a question... how do you stop your breasts from leaking all over the place at night? I have very large breasts and the breast pads never stay in place or cover the area well. Any idea's mom's?
Thanks for all of the warm messages about my mom. It helps having people to vent to about it. I've been trying not to think about it too much b/c then it just stresses me out.
I'm trying to get back on track w/ my eating and exercising but it has definitly been a struggle.
Hope all is well w/ everyone else!

Stacey: We are at a stage with my grandmother where any little thing sends her back to the nursing home and almost everytime we think it is permanent. She still lives with my parents but it puts strains on their relationship. I'm not going to begin to say I know how you feel but I will pray for you and your family.
So I noticed many of you have the lil goal meters where did you get them?
I'm still trying to balance a full time job and waking up to feed a 6 month old baby every night. She's little so the doc isn't saying to cut it out yet.

MaryJane, good luck with the new gym! I hope it's fantastic!

Stacy, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. Sending you hugs and lots of positive energy. It's hard when your parents get older. I do not look forward to that at all. My parents are both in their 80s and still able to take care of themselves but I still worry about the future.
And I'm right there with you with the guilty feelings. I haven't exercised in I-don't-know how long. It's so easy to just give up. But we have to keep trying! No matter how many times we stop and start again! My hubby and I just got memberships to the gym and I will finally get to start going next week. I'm going to try my darndest this time!!

Hi ladies, Sorry I have been absent for so long. Mom was in the hospital last Monday - Wednesday. They finally got her stabilized and moved her to the nursing home on Thursday. DH and I went back and got her all moved in but my dad is having a really hard time accepting it and he doesn't want to stay in their house by himself. I keep telling him that I would be more than willing to go with him to scope out somewhere different to live but then he doesn't want to move out of their house. I think he is really conflicted about what he should do. The Dr. did tell dad that mom is going to have to stay in the nursing home permanently this time. It's just really sad.
Anyway besides that I'm feeling really guilty b/c I looked at the calendar and realized I didn't exercise the entire month of July. I know that it's b/c of stress and not being on Spark. When I'm active on here and logging my food I do much better. I'm disappointed in myself b/c I came so close to achieving my work's 10 week challenge and then I just stopped trying and ended up only losing 4 lbs instead of 10. Yuck. Got to get back on track. My hubby bought those Kettleworx DVD's. I'm not sure if I can do those but I'm going to give it a shot.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning ladies!!! I had a WI today on another team challenge and I've now lost 10 lbs during the challenge an I'm 9 lbs away from my pre-pregnancy weight!! I'm so excited!! I can't help but brag because I'm very proud of myself. I think most of the loss is due to nursing my LO though! I can't say it's coming off fast but nursing really does help you to lose weight.

Good afternoon ladies. Just checking in as I don't believe I ever have before, although I am a little new to the group. I'm on FB a lot though :) Just wanted to stop by and say Hi. I seen the brief conversation about cloth diapers and I'm wishing I would have done it but I know it's a big investment up front but cheaper in the long run. Wish I would have read up on it while I was pregnant. LO will be 6 months on the 4th and I think it would just be too much of a hassle, also considering SO doesn't want any more children. Anyway, one positive note, I'm 10lbs away from pre-pregnancy weigh! Yay!! Tomorrow is a weigh in day for me, so here's to hoping I'm closer than that!! Everyone have a wonderful day!!!

GRIDMICHE - I've used them since day one and love them! It is a bit of an investment upfront, but its lovely to not be buying packs of diaps every other week, they are cute, and I rather think must be more comfortable. I use fuzzibunz, which are among the most expensive. I also really like Best Bottoms and if I were to do it again I might do best bottoms - fuzzibunz requires stuffing, which if I didn't have inhome help we seem a very tedious job every other day! There are lots of resources on line, and a couple groups through babyfit.
I lost 30 pounds on SPARK before...and now I'm back to lose the baby weight!

I never tried it but my roomate from college did and she like using them b/c she had less diaper rashes for her little one. I'll ask if there was a certain brand she used.

Hi to all of the newbies! So glad to have you on the team! I am one of the many Team Leaders and I have to admit that I don't get on nearly as often as I like! I have a 9yo stepdaughter, a 6yo son and an almost 3yo daughter. I am a WAHM and we are currently in the process of relocating from Sacramento, CA to Boston, MA. Needless to say, I've got a couple of different things going on right now! But I am still thrilled to have you on our team and look forward to getting to know you and losing weight with you!!

Hi everyone I am new to this group. I have a daughter who is 7 years old and my son will be 7 weeks on Wednesday. I ended up having to have a c-section so I had to take things a little easier there for the first few weeks. I started the P90X program last week and I have been walking/running on my lunch break. My first goal is to fit back into my pre-pregnancy jeans. Then I would like to loose those last few pounds that I have been trying to loose since my daughter was born.

I've been stuck as well but it's partially my own fault b/c I haven't been exercising as much as usual so I'm trying to get back on track w/ that and I'm also trying to cut down on my eating. I do really well during the day but then come supper I overeat. I don't know if I'm trying to keep up w/ my husband or what but I really need to stop that.

Hi everyone. I'm still around but I haven't had a chance to check in lately. We've been swamped at work and then last Monday I took my 8 month in for a re-check on her lungs b/c she had gotten pnuemonia the week before. The Dr. wants to send us to Children's Hospital in Omaha to do a Cystic Fybrosis check. I am completely freaking out!!!! The Dr. said that she is 99.9% sure that she does not have it and she did test negative for it at her newborn screening but still it is so upsetting. Then we need to put her in physical therapy b/c she's not sitting up on her own for long enough periods of time so they want to fine tune her gross motor skills. Then on top of all of that my mom doesn't qualify for Home healthcare b/c my dad keeps taking her out of the house and he's blaming me. My husband had been extremely crabby b/c he didn't get this Principal job that he wanted and so he keeps yelling at me too! I am completely STRESSED OUT!! HELP!

I've been eating crappy lately! I'm doing well today, currently eating the lunch I brought to work (I had contemplated skipping it for something much fatter and it tastes really good so glad I didn't) and told my husband I'd make pizza instead of ordering it in tonight. So I just need to stick to the plan and build on success... Hope you ladies all have a great weekend!

Mary Jane- Thanks a lot! I have decided that I need to stop the emotional eating and have gotten back on track this week. My was a week ago, I just realized that. I had lost almost ten pounds, but gained a few back dealing with my dad's death and all the emotions with it. I am back on track now though and am almost back to where I was and will continue to lose!!!!

Happy Easter everyone! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day! It's overcast here and threatening to rain. We had planned on going to a baseball game but I am sending the boys without me while the baby girl and I stay home, warm and dry! (Ah, a little peace and quiet! LOL!)

Happy Earth Day everyone!! I hope everyone has been well. I have had a lot more energy lately. I have reduced my sugar and have drank more green tea instead of so much coffee. I do still drink about a cup a day but I've been feeling great. Hope everyone has a great weekend! I plan on just enjoying it even with all this rain we've been getting.

It amazes me how a little compation can motivate you to loose wt. My family decided to do a wt lose challenge from april 1 to easter sunday $10 to get in. I started at 163 and i am down to 158 with another week to go. it would be nice to win but as long as I'm not in last place I think i would be happy and its the push i need to keep working out every day

Hi ladies!! I am going to get back on track today!!!! I have been emotional eating for the past 2 weeks (since my 66 year old dad unexpectedly passed away) and I need to stop it!!!! I actually went up to 173 as if a few days ago, but didn't change my weight on here. I am surprised and happy that when I weighed myself this AM, I was at 170 again, so really only gained like 3 pounds. I am going to have to stop the "binge snacking" and hopefully I will be able to pick up where I left off. My marathon training is going pretty well, I missed 2 long runs due to a sore foot, but did 15.5 yesterday and 18 the week before. I hope everyone has a good week!! ~Laura

I was feeling so motivated yesterday, planning my workouts around the weather and PT appointments... and then DD was up for 2 hours last night! UGH! (What is that about? Teeth? Nightmare? AAAAAH!)
Still planning to run this afternoon, but right now I'm downing coffee like it's going out of style!!

Gabby, I had planned on being where I was when I got pregnant by the time Heather turned one but I didn't quite make it - it took me about another month longer. But it's okay, I'm still making progress and now am only 10 pounds away from my final goal :)

Good Morning Ladies! Its been so long since I lasted updated on here. Things have finally started to settle down since I started my new teaching job January. My boy's are one month away from their 3rd and 1st birthday. Andrew will be 3 on May 13th and Patrick will be 1 on May 14th. My goal I had set back a few weeks ago was to be at goal weight by their birthday's but I was so overwhelmed with work, I didn't do anything. So now I'm still trying to get back into to it. I did take a really nasty fall last Thursday and have been all but a baby about the pain of the scrapes, and road rash. Anyways, I hope all have a great day!

Hi Jenni - I have an 18-year-old and a 13-month-old. #2 was NOT a surprise for me! I'd wanted a second baby since my 18-year-old was 2! Long story but finally got my miracle baby.
The weight is harder to lose the older we get, that is for sure! But I know with some perseverence, you can do it and this is a great place to get it started.

Hi everyone - my name is Jenn. I'm going to be 42 and I have 2 kids - and 18 year old and a surprise 2.5 month old. Yeah - I know - wow. Anyway, I put on more weight than I had intended in the last trimester. My age and being unable to breastfeed after she was 4 weeks old have really slowed my weight loss down. I've been a member of SparkPeople for a number of years and it's been successful for me before - so I'm hoping that I'll be able to buckle down and lose about 40 pounds and meet some great new people. So I'm hoping to join your chat if that's ok for some motivation or just to vent and brag about being a mommy.

Hi ladies!!! I mentioned before that I had a sore foot. Good news!! I have run 3 times this past week!! 4.5 miles twice and 13 miles on Sunday. My foot is totally better!!!! Yay!!! I was really worried that I was not going to be able to run in my marathon in May. I have only 13 pounds left to my goal and I am hoping to be there by the time of the race (May 29). I think it will also help me running!! Anyone else have a goal for summer????? ~Laura

I had a great weekend. I got in two runs and enjoyed the beautiful weather. And I crazily signed up for a half marathon (EEK!) this fall, so now I have a new training goal.
Now I'm getting organized for the week ahead -- breakfasts and lunches made, laundry done -- and getting ready to relax on the couch for a bit.

The weather in Nebraska is going to be pretty nice this weekend. I wish I could be out more to enjoy it. Tomorrow I have to go to a funeral for DH great-uncle. Then on Sunday I have to go to parents house and do a bunch of work. Oh well at least I'll be spending quality time w/ both families.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Happy Friday, everyone!
It's cold and rainy here today (at least the snow stopped!) but the weekend is looking nice. I'm hoping to take DD out in the stroller for a couple of nice runs. I have a stroller-sized "bundle me" that blocks the wind and keeps her warm, and she's always happy to be outside.
In New England, if we waited for the weather to improve, we'd be waiting a loooooong time.

Good morning ladies! This morning I had Kindergarten Round-up for my oldest daughter. It was a little sad b/c I just can't believe that she is ready to go to school. I did not start crying however, a mom there started sobbing. I felt really sorry for her.
My youngest daughter has to go back to the Dr. today b/c I think her ears are still bothering her. Maybe when it gets warm we can get all of this sickness out of our house!
Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi mommies! Where is the warm weather???? I live in Milwaukee, WI and it has actually been snowing on and off for the last week!!!! I'm dying to get outdoors and start walking with my baby in the stroller! I have started to do some stairs at work the last week in an effort to get something started though because I can't keep on waiting for the weather!

I started to track my food here on SP on Tuesday and when I weighed myself this AM I was down 6 pounds!!!!! Yay!!!! I realize that it is some water weight, but I am glad to see some progress, especially since I haven't been doing my normal work outs thus week due to my foot being sore!!!! I only have like 3 pounds of pregnancy weigh left to lose and then another 15 I would like to lose. ~Laura

I'm finally back home now after spending the week in San Antonio. I got here just in time for a cold snap... brrrr! So I'm keeping it low key this weekend, just spending time with DD and DH and catching up on laundry. I'm going to get in a little treadmill time this afternoon, and then I'm going to run outside tomorrow.
