This was a comment on an article I read about weightlifting and cardio.
"Whether you're riding a stationary cycle or walking on a treadmill you will get the best results by doing this after weight training. The reason being is it will increase you testosterone production which in turn burns fat by increasing your metabolism and you will also release more growth hormone which will help your muscles grow at a greater rate than if you did the 30 minute cardio workout before lifting weights.
One more thing to take into consideration is how you do your cardio workout. 20-30 minutes at the same pace won't cut it. You have to do interval training. For example, if you are on a stationary cycle start out with the resistance low (if it has 10 resistance settings for example, start out low, like at 2 or 3) for the first 3 minutes then increase it to 4 or 5 for 1 minute at a moderate pace, then increase the resistance again to 7, 8, 9, or 10 (whatever you can handle) for 1 minute and pedal as hard and as fast as you can, then back down to 4 or 5 at a moderate pace for 1 minute. Repeat this 2 more times and then go back down to 2 or 3 at the end for 3 minutes to cool down.
Give this a try for at least 3 months and you should see a difference in you overall body "
Im going to try this interval training and see if this helps me lose any faster. Has anyone tried this with success?
I can't believe I am down over 70 pounds since last year!
