Hey!
Congrats on getting a killer run in and losing a couple pounds! WOOHOO!!

We were camping this weekend and had fun. I was so close to breaking my 150 plateau (I have been between 155 and 150 for months and months.) I was sure I had sweated more pounds off while camping. I weighed 150.5 before I left...so close. This morning: 152.5 ARGH! I did my measurements and it is hard to tell because if I change where I am taking it is changes in inches...no dramatic change that I can be sure of.

However, my victory came today when I tried on a dress I got as a gift (size 8) and it fit well!! Months ago it was a little too tight. This is going to be sooo hard but I really want my belly and some of the other thickness off.

We are going to visit my in-laws and I am nervous about how I will do. We will be able to continue to do our P90X exercises and as long as I log my calories I should be OK.

Keep up the good work!

It is going to be hard...and that is OK.

How are you doing?

I am getting my eating under control and I am walking. Last night I walked 4.6 miles. I feel great today. I lost 2 pounds last week. And I finally did my measurements.

Yes, I think daily I am bursting with pride and embarrassed with my kids. They are the stage where they are learning good behavior and discipline and it is a daily power struggle. They have my strong will...all those stories my mom told me are making sense. lol!

I am glad you had a nice weekend and a great church event. I bet you all looked lovely!

They have been good - no new injuries. Yeah!

I am reconciling with the fact that I will have to drop down to 1200 -1300 calories is I plan on losing any weight. This 1500 calorie is not cutting it. I am sooo hungry! I am trying to decide whether my cranky attitude is worth dropping a few pounds. Ugh. The fact that I really didn't get enough sleep is a problem as well. Ha!

It is going to be hard...and that is OK.

Sorry, I haven't been on much the last few days. It has been busy.

I did not get any walks in the last couple of days. I had a luau for church workers on Friday night and I did really well. I did go for desert but even that wasn't bad. I did not get to weigh this weekend so I think I am going to try to do that tonight. I go to my MIL's house to do that.

Hope and Emma were dedicated at church on Sunday. It was really nice. We got up there and Hope yells out "I have to go potty." Oh, kids. ;) Gotta love them. We just told her she had to wait. But the girls looked so nice and we got a nice family picture to put in their baby books.

How are your kids injuries?

Congratulations on seeing results on the scale! Keep it up!

Whew - today was all about blood, sweat and tears! Both my kids were bleeding today: my 3 yr old opened up a stubbed toe while playing in my room. So he managed to drip blood all over the room. Then, while sending my 20 month old to time out, she got so upset she threw herself down on the kitchen floor and busted her lip. OMG! This is after my 3 yr old a few days ago busted his head after falling into a rocking chair - bled like a stuck pig. It is all because my husband is out of town.

Whew - but I am able to start seeing results even on the scale. I just know I am going to have to work for every pound on this one.

It is going to be hard...and that is OK.

I got a walk in yesterday. 2.69 miles. It sure did feel good.

I love the baby stage as well. My oldest will be 3 in a few weeks and I was holding her last night and was just amazed at how big and grown up she is. I told her I used to hold her the same way I hold her sister and that she used to be smaller than her sister. Kids are wonderful and I wouldn't trade one minute with my kids for anything in the world.

I got all my water in yesterday but did not have time for a walk. My husband did get a run in though so he is catching up to me. That's okay though. I am focused on me and the best I can do.

Healthier is always better. Keep motivated!

Yes, I will keep that tortoise picture in mind. I think it is going to be like that for me - no quick weight loss. My good friend went to a weight loss doctor and got b-12 shots, a lipid shredder thing and is on appetite suppressants. no fair! :) She lost 24 lbs in 2 months! I am doing it the slow and hard (but healthier) way.

It is just going to be hard...and that's OK.

thanks for the water reminder - I can probably do better on that. :)

Being the tortise is motivating for me. I know that I can do it. I got another 1.5 miles in last night. I may not be losing the weight yet but I feel great and I can SEE a difference.

I know what you mean about the belly. I am already starting to see a difference in mine and it motivates me more.

I have had 2 cups of water already, just driving to work. I am off to get some more.

My husband is a history teacher. And I know all the work that goes into getting a masters, it's tough. My husband got his masters degree our first year of marriage. I sure am happy that we did not have any kids back then.

Good luck today!

Yes, the P90X program is really good. It is very balanced and intense - but in a smart way. My husband started it almost 3 months ago. It takes 90 days but in that time you should be totally fit. I am so thankful to finally get into shape. I got my masters last year so working out with 2 kids and teaching was out of the question for me last year!

It is the mommy belly that is really motivating me. It is so gooey and big - ugh! It is kinda fascinating though if I can suspend my disgust for a moment. That is what happens with 2 pregnancies (and I was pretty big each time!).

P.S. - you remember who wins that race...the tortoise!

It is going to be hard...and that is OK.

Emma is 10 weeks, almost 11 weeks so she is almost 3 months. I am not breast feeding because I tried that with my first and it didn't work too well for me. I like that I can eat as I feel is best and workout and not have to worry about how it will affect my baby.

My husband and I have a race going to see who can get to Washington D.C. first (like 447 miles). And yes, it is just like it sounds. We add up our miles and keep track of it. I am keeping up with them on my spark page. I call it the tortise and hare race because I like to walk and he likes to run. I am slow and he takes off like a bullet running but he likes to slack off sometimes (like the hare). The loser has to make the winner dinner of their choice.

What is the P90X program? It sounds interesting.

Yes, anything that is environmentally good...I'm into. Hey, take time with losing weight after childbirth. It will come off - You really aren't supposed to be really working at losing weight until 6 weeks after. Personal question: are you breast feeding? I did with my last pregnancy and I swear I didn't lose as much until I stopped. Your hormones are still wonky, most likely.

My youngest is 19 months - I have NO excuses! :) I really am giving this my all to lose the last 10-15...the hardest.

So what is this race? Do you just add up the miles? That sounds fun. Just make sure you have been taking it easy right after childbirth.

I love running but I am doing the P90X program. Basically, I work out every day. sounds extreme, huh?! Well, it rotates areas so it is not as bad as it mighht seem. Plus, they have this recovery drink that almost completely eliminates soreness - beautiful stuff. I highly recommend it!

It is going to be hard...and that is OK.

Thanks Mary Jane!

Good morning! My name is Stefanie and I am from Myrtle Beach, SC. I see that you like hiking. I love the outdoors and anything involved with it (hiking, camping, kyaking).

I just had my second daughter on April 5th. So, she is only 2 months old. My first is going to be 3 years on July 8th. I have been trying to lose weight for the last 5 weeks and it is not working yet. I am keeping up with my calories (for the most part) and walking.

My husband and I have a race going. We are seeing who can get 447 miles first. (to Washington D.C.) I am in the lead. I am walking and he is going to run (when he gets started). He gave me a 50 mile head start. I am at 56.2 and motivated to get there first.

No problem! I am on Day 4 of my program. I will definitely need some support because I am very impatient to see progress.

It is going to be hard...and that is OK.
