I have lost three pounds since just doing zumba sitting in my chair and some regular floor moves. I truly believe zumba is working for me.

I have been consistently losing at least 0.5 lbs for past three months. Not sure if it is directly related to Zumba (ie can't link taking a class to loss) - but it certainly is part of it: I love dancing and Zumba has made me look forward to the exercise class rather than find ways to procrastinate, I have certainly got fitter from Zumba - and can now complete a whole hour long high energy class without stopping once... It has made me dance more just around the house (doing a shimmy while listening to the radio etc etc). And it has made me love my body which is amazing as it can respond to music and rhythm

Well, lets see. Since August 11th I have lost 45 pounds. I have been doing land and aqua Zumba pretty much every day since then. I think it has something MAJOR to do with my weight loss. Zumba is AMAZING. I love it!

I don't know that I can say that my weight loss is due to Zumba. I started losing weight when I finally got some serious medical problems straightened out. In addition to Zumba, I do a LOT of other exercises. Zumba is generally only about 20% of my weekly exercise.

However, I love to dance and getting better at Zumba helped to motivate me to keep up with other healthy habits. It's also been a wonderful thing socially and I find my Zumba friends very supportive and enthusiastic.

The people who seem to lose a LOT of weight with only Zumba are those who were extremely sedentary to begin with and/or going from an all-fast/junk food diet to a healthy diet and adding exercise at the same time.

After I started doing Zumba, the weight started to come off. I've been doing Zumba for two weeks. I took my first class two Sundays ago. Since then, I've lost close to seven pounds. Before taking that class, I was losing less than two pounds a month.

Let's see, I started Personal training 1x a week in March '09. WW started (again) in May '09. Zumba in Sept.'09 by then I had lost 7 pounds. When I took B1 to get licensed, I lost 12 more. And since then, 10 more. I'm a very slow loser but as long as it was going in the right direction, it added up to a big loss overall. Keeping it off is another challenge depite the vast increase in exersise in my life since March of '09. It's really about how much I eat, not how much I move. But of course, moving more makes it even better. When you get to your WW goal, then you get to go for free. Free is good. That's motivating to me, I have to say. But good health is the real benefit and looking good naked and having more fun shopping for clothes and I bet you can come up with lots of other benefits of being at goal (or even lower).. My WW goal is the high end of my weight range, btw.

That's awesome! About how long did it take before you really saw results with how much you did it? I've been thinking about weight watchers, seeing Jennifer Hudson has really inspired me, but I'm iffy because I don't know if I have the means financially to do it.

And I know what you mean about avoiding diabetes! It runs in my family ridiculously, so I'm definitely on my way to avoid that disease as much as possible. Along with heart conditions! Thank you so much for replying! I really appreciate it. I'm just trying to get as much insight as I can on Zumba, and so far I'm pretty convinced!

Hi! I've been doing Zumba since Sept. '09 and have been an instructor since 2/10. Sonce that time I lost all the weight I had wanted to lose. I teach 3 classes a week, which isn't that much but I also workout with a personal; trainer 4x a week- 2x doing serious weight lifting and 2x doing "bootcamp " exercises. I wasn't an avid exerciser before Sept. '09. I also had been back to Weight Watchers since May of '09 and tracking and eating less (but not completely cutting out things I love) has enabled me to lose weight. I really really love teaching Zumba. It pays for my personal training so I don't feel guilty doing that, but really, I started with 30 min of Personal training 1x a week and it was definitely worth it. Yes, it cost alot, but I look at all of this as my health care. I will not become diabetic (like my parents) which I see as a disease of overweight which is completely preventable. And Diabetes causes all sorts of other organ failures which will lead to an early death,.I will not do that!!

Hi, everyone! So, I've been SUPER interested in getting into zumba. I would love to know everyone's experience with Zumba. Their results, how long it took, how they felt while doing it, etc.

Please get back to me! Thank you so much and have a good day everybody!
