I don't know that I can say that my weight loss is due to Zumba. I started losing weight when I finally got some serious medical problems straightened out. In addition to Zumba, I do a LOT of other exercises. Zumba is generally only about 20% of my weekly exercise.
However, I love to dance and getting better at Zumba helped to motivate me to keep up with other healthy habits. It's also been a wonderful thing socially and I find my Zumba friends very supportive and enthusiastic.
The people who seem to lose a LOT of weight with only Zumba are those who were extremely sedentary to begin with and/or going from an all-fast/junk food diet to a healthy diet and adding exercise at the same time.
