I started Zumba about 2 months ago but then had to stop going due to finishing grad school and other commitments and just started back about a week or week and a half ago and I started at 186 prior to starting back on counting calories/spark/and doing Zumba and now am at 179.5 so yay!

Anything is possible, It's your choice whether or not you choose to make IT happen

Hey everyone I just recently started zumba about a month ago. So not too recent, anyways I seen this post an was still wondering if anyone was still participating in the challenge? Well I am in for it....So my starting weight as of this morning is 260.4, I will post next week weight....

I have done a few live Zumba classes and I owe the 1st game on the PlayStation and the 2nd on the kinnect! Must say the format for the newest game is fantastic and I LOVE the music. If you have fun girlfriends who loved to dance invite them over once a week and see how much fun you can have! My friends and I felt like we were having a dance party and ended up doing 2 routines a long one and a short one before we finished up! emoticon

Just got my Zumba for Kinect today!!! Just did 20 mins and man o man that was some workout..but I am LOVING it!! I am in! I would love to lose 5 pounds in two weeks...starting weight 150...going to weigh in next Friday Sept 9th!

I've had my zumba DVDs for over a year, and started out with a bang. But as usual, life took over and zumba (exercise period) took a back seat. This week, I'm going to do zumba six days. I'm going to follow one of the workout prograams that came with the DVDs. Hopefully, this time I can stick with it.

I just bought zumba for kinect on friday, did the tutorials on saturday, and my first 20 minutes for beginners today. It has made me totaling psyched about working out again. My challenge is 20 minutes of cardio/ 5 mornings each week (3 with zumba). So far, so good!

Hi,

I'm new to this challenge. What exactly is it? I'm fairly new to Zumba. I got the Zumba Wii game for Christmas and have been doing it pretty regularly about once a week since then. I have done the Zumba Wii this week, everyday since Sunday for 20 min. with my daughter (who's about to turn 14). Today I started the 20min Zumba DVD as well. I'm LOVING it!

I started my home Zumba today. I am starting slowly to learn the steps. It's a lot more fun than the treadmill, I must say. My goals are simple: to learn the steps and lose 4 lbs by Valentine's Day. The weight loss goal is from one of my other teams which was to lose 6 lbs from Jan.1 till Feb. 14.

I need to set goals for myself and hopefully that will keep me motivated! I will try to zumba 5x per week and lose 5 lbs in 2 weeks. Lets do this team!!

I hope this challenge is still going. I set a goal for myself to lose five pounds in five weeks. I plan to do Zumba at least three times a week. I need to make some changes to my diet. I'm trying to take baby steps.

I started Zumbaing 2 weeks ago and have attended 3 classes so far. I would love to start this challenge also! I love the energy and even though sometimes I can't get the moves, I find that if I keep moving it makes me sweat more LOL! That's what I'm trying to achieve anyway right! Move and shake your body and sweat those pounds off!!!

I'm new here. I've been taking a Zumba class for only 1 month and I love it. It's through my local recreation center. It meets only once a week but should I be "zumba'-ing more than that a week? What are the rest of you doing?

I started my fitness this am with bellydancing on fit tv and then found where there were Zumba classes offered nearby so am going to start those but I hope I am not too uncoordinated to do it, ha..we will see. I just want something fun and pre-set that I can do and set aside time for by doing the classes to keep me on track, plus try to add other increases in activity.

Anything is possible, It's your choice whether or not you choose to make IT happen

I have the beginner dvd. I did two days of just learning/practicing the moves before I tried the actual workout. I still don't get some of it, and some of it I get, but just not as quickly. Some of the moves I need to count for, and others are easy and I feel like it's effortless. I love to dance.

I do my zumba to videos off youtube and I'm really uncoordinated so it takes a while to get the moves. I think the more you do it the easier it will get. Sometimes I just look ridiculous trying to do what they're doing, but by the 2nd or 3rd time through I can get the rhythm down. I didn't even know there were beginner lessons to learn the steps. good luck!

What I do is stand as close to see the instructer(other people may get lost and you dont want to get lost). I watch the instructer very closely. I also count steps.

Yay!!!! A newbie!! I suggest you just keep going & having fun with it!

You will catch on to the steps. basic steps you are learning will transfer to other salsas, cumbias, merengues, etc.

I joined a Zumba class 5 weeks ago.There was no learning of steps-just jump in and go for an hour straight. Any suggestions for learning the steps??I do okay but....

I just started Zumba today!! I got my dvd set in today. I done 20 minutes of learning the dance moves and 5 minutes of the basic dance. I had to stop because of my little man woke up from nap. I'm going to do it again shortly when my oldest is home. The kids will play in their room while I can workout. I'm going to to Zumba and walk away the pounds 5-6 days a week with watching my food intake. My small goal is to lose 5 pounds hopefully in two weeks. Who is with me. My beginning weight is 198.
