A Taste of Home Recipe - Easy, low fat, tastes amazing! Herbed Chicken and Tomatoes. Add to crock pot, a pound of young chicken breasts, cut into one inch peices. Add two 14.5 oz can of Italian diced tomatoes, One packet Lipton Savory Herb and Garlic soup mix, and 1/4 teaspoon sugar. Cook on low 5-6 hours, or I do high about 2 1/2 hours. Then boil bow tie pasta about 3/4 box. Put herbed chicken over pasta and sprinkle with shredded Parmesan cheese! This is so good! A keeper.

I made an awesome turkey sausage, with peppers, onions and tomatoes tonight.

It actually didn't taste like turkey - you could believe it was regular sausage - it wasn't greasy like sausage, but had that depth of flavor. I used the Jennie-O turkey sausages.

It's low cal, low carb, everything. I followed this recipe: www.preventionrd.com/2012/03/crockpot-saus
age-peppers-onions/ .

At the end, I shaved fresh hard parmesan cheese over the top. Yum! I usually buy the shaker-type of cheese, but the fresh stuff is so much better. Yesterday I made homemade chicken caesar salads, so it was leftover from that.

You can actually improvize vegetarian soups or chilis. Whatever you make on the stovetop can probably transition to the crock pot easily.

If you swapped cabbage for some chopped tomatoes and add more spices (chili powder, red pepper, cumin, coriander, and a little oregano) and onions/garlic...... then your mix sounds like a spicy Pork Chili Stew we make huge batch of a few times every winter.

Thank you for sharing the links, I'll check them out. Always looking for new ideas.

One crockpot meal I plan to experiment with is just sticking a pork tenderloin in with the 15 dry bean mix, add some mushrooms, carrots, and cabbage, and broth of course. I hope it will be good. I'm trying to like a variety of beans, but some are so, so. Maybe fixed this way, the'll just be yummy all mixed up.

Dear Lord, set my sights on You and Your great attributes. Help me to live in Your presence, dependent on Your guidance each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Hi! I made slowcooker chicken taco stew over the weekend. It is off spark recipes. Really delicous. My husband thought it smelled good enough for him to try, which he went back for more. I even like it over salad as a taco salad, very filling.

Frozen chicken breasts, 3-4 depending on the size (I never measure weight)
I will season them with minced onion and a bit of salsa - again I don't measure
I cook the chicken breasts on medium for a few hours
Shred the chicken breasts then add a can of black beans, can of corn (partially drained) and a jar of chunky salsa. I prefer Pace Chunky Salsa but you could use what ever you like.
Continue to cook for a few more hours.
About an hour before eating, add 8oz cream cheese (lite), cubed
When cream cheese has melted, DONE!
My family likes to eat this with crushed Doritos in a bowl.
Kids love it the next day as a warm or cold dip for their Doritos.
Hope your family enjoys as much as mine does.

Hi, I am trying to find a Crock Pot receipe that was on spark pages. It was when they had like seven of them listed. This one use Turkey meat and I think it was a chili of some kind. like a white one. If some one can let me know where to find it. That would be great. Still new to Spark People, but I love it.

I am still trying to tweak this one to suit my family, but I hate rolling enchiladas. So I layered everything in the crock pot casserole style and cooked on high for 4 hrs. Not sure if it was the sauce I used was a different brand and that was the big difference, but it turned out a little bland. So it was basically, corn tortillas, then layer of meat (ground beef or pulled chicken), fat free cream cheese, cheddar cheese shredded, sauce, then repeat until you have the amount you want in the crock pot. I have seen where some people add hot sauce or salsa into the mix as well as black beans or rice or canned drained diced tomatoes. Just a thought. I was told that the corn tortillas will freeze nicely in this. DO NOT COOK ON LOW WILL BECOME TOO SOGGY.

Super easy recipes I found here in the Sparkpeople recipes:

Lay frozen chicken breasts across the bottom of the crockpot; add a packet of taco seasoning; 1 jar of pace picante sauce.

You can shred the chicken & put on buns for sandwiches - I'm not much of a bread eater, so I just ate my chicken with some salad & veggies AND it's YUMMY!!!

Have an awesome day!

You can do fish in the slow cooker too if you like fish. I'll even use frozen fish fillets (because I'm super lazy and never remember to defrost). You just put the fillet on a piece of foil (you are going to make a foil packet) and put a teaspoon or two of something like olive oil or mayo or aioli and then a little herb seasoning. I love to do this with tilapia and I use lemon pepper because I ADORE lemon pepper. You could also use lemon juice instead of mayo or oil.

Then I make the foil packet and plop them into the crock pot. I've tried on high for 6 hours which worked fine but I've also done it on low for 8 hours which also worked.

SO good!

I think I've posted them all under a Chicken recipes thread somewhere in this Sparkteam. Could be a couple of years back.

Just had the Tagine tonight -with chickpeas, squash and green beans.

I just made turkey chili. It had ground turkey, two kinds of (canned) beans, a big can of diced tomatoes, poblano peppers, onions, chili powder, ancho chili powder and cumin.

Hello Everyone!

So I am looking for new crock pot meal ideas. I have gotten tired of the same things over and over again. I tend to make pulled pork, pulled chicken, or soups. I dont usually eat too much red meat due to dietary restrictions so mainly looking for chicken or turkey recipes. The occasional red meat recipe is totally fine too lol.

What is your favorite meal to make in the crock pot?
