Ugh, yeah... the castor oil thing is soooo not happening for me either. I have heard waaaaayyyyy too many horror stories about that. One girl told me about it and it worked, but, well, let's just say the after effects ended up being projectiled all over the doctor during labor and delivery. Um, no thanks!
I have a massage scheduled for Wendesday and she's going to work on my pressure points. Then the stretch and sweep on Friday. Wish me luck guys!!
I had mine swept the day before my induction hoping that it would get things going naturally. Nope. I also walked almost every day of my pregnancy (right up until the day I went to the hospital). Nope. I also did yoga frequently. Nada. Pineapple, spicy food, doing the deed with hubby...none of it brought on natural labor. I was dilated and effaced for a couple weeks - I even lost my plug almost 3 weeks before I was induced.
I was not willing to try castor oil, but some swear by that.
I hope that your labor comes on naturally!!!

Is this the same thing as "stripping membranes"? If so, I've had that done 3 times to no avail. Walk, walk, walk, night action, walk, walk, walk. Pineapple? I've read that it can "soften the cervix" if you eat enough of it!

Great news! Glad things seem to be moving along on their own. Keep thinking positive! I have had a couple friend that have had that done and it worked for them. I think your body needs to be ready though.
Okay guys, I had my dr appt today and it turns that I went from being 0 dilated last week to a 2 this week and am 50% effaced. Baby is at about a station 2 and they're talking about doing a stretch and sweep next week (stretching the cervix and sweeping the membranes). Anyone have this done? I have been having a few contractions and think that I am slowly losing my mucus plug. They're hoping right along with me that I can go into labor on my own by doing this. I was just curious if anyone else has had any experience with this procedure and if it did any good?
Keep your fingers crossed for me guys, I am feeling a whole lot more positive about things!!
