Most medical people say that a multi-vitamin is good for you, even if they do not like other supplements.

I just started taking a gummy bear type supplement. Sounds crazy, but my adult daughter talked me into doing that. In the past I have taken
fish oil
Vit E
and airborne when I feel a cold comming on.
I get what I need from the food that I eat mostly. I almost never get sick.

Never give up

I have taken supplements for over thirty years. This is something I decided to do on my own, no doctor involved. I still get a cold now and again, just as I have now. I was sick for most of my life before supplements became a part of my life.

I take a lot of supplements, all recommended by my endocrinologist and/or my family practitioner, but the one I give the most credit to is VITAMIN D!
At my endo's suggestion, I take 5,000 IU a day. I haven't been sick in ages!

I have been lucky with the menopause thing. I was in the Women's Health study for hormones and the calcium and vitamin D. I joined the study when I was 50. After 10 years they told us if we were on a placebo or the real thing. I was on the real hormone so when the study was over I was taken off the hormone. Boy was I ever a "B _ _ _ _". So I told my doctor I wanted back on the hormone and I have been fine ever since, still taking them.

10 years is a good run! sounds very similar to some I take, which I've also taken for at least 8 years, since I began seeing my endo in SF. The evening primrose is new though-- supposed to help with menopause?

Glucosamine/Chondroitin - twice a day - for joint health
Vitamin B Complex with at least 50mg of B-6 - for energy and joints
Multi Vitamin no iron (Compare to Centrum Silver)
Vitamin C 1000mg
Bayer Aspirin
Calcium/Vitamin D - twice a day
Fish Oil 1200mg - twice a day

I have taken these supplements for at least 10 years. Just added the fish oil last year.

Ideally, we'd be getting all of our vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids from the foods we eat.

But many of us take supplements, either that we've researched, or that our health care providers have recommended.

What, if anything, do you take, with respect to supplements?

Me:

baby aspirin
B6
Folic Acid
Calcium with D
additional Vitamin D
Fish oil
evening primrose
iron w/ vitamin C
multi vitamin
biotin
magnesium
