I got a treadmill so I can keep on the walking, and I enjoy it (though it is nicer outside). I LOVE to swim, but I haven't found a convenient (and not too expensice) place to do that in Jersey City - let me know if you have any ideas.
Walking is my favorite exercise by far. It's much easier to do in the warmer weather, though. Right now most of my cardio is done by jogging in place in my apartment, and I do strength training on alternate days.
My body is the most precious instrument I will ever own.
I am very much interested in running but not able to run much now (damn those many extra pounds!!!)so I am now doing a fast walk/slow jog to condition my body to accept that it was meant to run. I have been unfaithfully following the Couch to 5K program to ready me for a 5K in Liberty Park on March 15th.
Right now I would have to say my favorite exercise is walking. It keeps my heart rate going, I can do it at home or outside, I control the pace and, I can add additional movements like side steps and knee lifts.
