I tried something new for me. I didn't work on a Saturday. Usually work until I'm worn out. Just took the day to enjoy my family. Quite different for me!

Oh, I'm a monster! No, like I said it's easy to resist temptation when you're full. Besides, I kept telling myself that August 25th is my splurge day.
I think my new exercise routine in finally paying off. I lost 3.4 pounds this week.

Today I didn't try anything new. However, this weekend my brother's fire company is having their annual community carnival at the firehouse. The do burgers, sausage sandwiches, hot dogs (with or w/o chili), french fries, funnel cake and homemade ice-cream which is pretty famous in our neck of the woods. I went for 45 minutes.....and didn't eat anything! I wasn't even tempted. I was still full from the taco salad for supper.
Oh, and about yesterday? This morning I called the branch manager and told her what happend. Calmly and cooly. The culprit may not know it yet, but the branch manager wrote her up for it. It will be included in her performance evaluation. I decided that because the bank is a customer service business, this was a display of terrible customer service and needed to be reported. So now, I'm even sticking up for myself...will the changes never cease?

Today I tried something new. I had a co-worker hang up on me before she even spoke to me. Saw my extension on the caller id and said "oh, it's Shari" and hung up! I was furious. I started to react the way I usually do and send a e-mail explaining what I needed and that I did not appreciate being hung up on. Instead I put down the phone, counted to 10 and simpley put the incomplete form in an envelope and sent it back to her branch to be completed. I did not react in anger. I gave myself a cool-down period. I usually very easy to get along with...but, stuff like this really lights my fire (I'm not red-headed for nothing!)

Well in that case...I tried some new crunches on monday...reverse crunches with an exercise ball....and tomorrow clamshell crunches (thats a double crunch with the ball!) You should check out the demos! Can't believe I'm actually doing this stuff.
Also had great news this morning. Grabbed a size "18" shirt I wanted to try on to see if it fits....and it does...but, it's not an 18...IT'S A 16!!!!!

Jen, if you like pears and apples, you should try an asian pear. I thought the taste and texture was similar to a cross between the two fruits.
I'm too chicken to try sardines or herring...I really don't like fish, especially fishy fish. I like basa and salmon (prepared in very specific ways) and sometimes flounder, cod or talapia.
The only thing we tried new this week was using Good Seasons salad dressing mix (dry) as a spice rub for some chicken we tossed on the grill (that would be the barbie for our Aussie friends!)

I love kippered herring, which you buy in tins like sardines; the kippers are very good on crackers. I still haven't tried anything new.....it is too hot to cook... Tomorrow I do have to go downtown so I will see if I can find something new..... Leslie

Jen, if you can get someone to help you pick the mango. They are delish when fully ripe, but they leave a peppery aftertaste if they're not!
