Yesterday I tried a new "beginner" dvd. Yeah, Bob doesn't know the meaning of the word... I'm stiff and sore today... many of my muscles are complaining loudly... but... I still got a 1 mile walk in with Leslie before work. Did wonders to stretch out those muscles... until I stepped outside into 30* weather outside. Sigh. But I still did it! Plan on doing a little more when I get home to get my 7,000 steps for the day.

Today I am making an effort to eat only what I've planned. Started the day with oatmeal, packed my lunch and will be eating at home tonight... even though I have errands to run after work. I am looking at changing a lot of my diet so this month is all about research and planning the new way of eating.

New year, new plan; that is what I am doing for me. I like Angela's thing about being honest. Being honest with yourself and with others of what you need. Today, I am being honest and doing the things I want and need to do to start the new year. I am a planner, so today is dedicated to meal planning, organization, and light exercise for me.

BRAVA Angela! God answered my prayers for you today. I asked him to give you words...the words you would need to tell the truth and to make your needs known. It is obvious that he has done this. Bask in the joy of having done a great job. Now, God only needs to answer the second part of the prayer which was to turn the heart of the judge in your favor.

Today, I didn't worry about what I was saying, I just made my voice work and told the TRUE story of me. Not what a doctor thinks of me as a patient, but I took my time to tell the story of who I am and how I have been sidetracked my arthritis and these degenerative diseases I have.

So today I feel like even though I couldn't stand up straight, I stood up and I made myself be heard. No more ostrich holes in which I will stick my head.

Today I took back some of the power that I let get away from me. And for that, TODAY I am thankful that I will have a TOMORROW.

For the past couple of days I've been drinking a smoothie/slushy made with frozen fruit and veggies in the Nutri Bullet. I've been using water as the base rather than juice to avoid added calories. They don't taste the greatest, but aren't terrible and I feel good when I'm done cause I know I've done something really nice for my body. I"ve been under my calorie goal for the past three days also.

today I did several things for me. I bought a dress and a pair of Jammies online. I bought the game Suduko for my Kindle and played a few games....and I put lotion on my feet....which I do not do often enough because I cannot reach my feet thanks to hip surgery....so I have to do it with an applicator on a long stick. They were in desperate need. I think I should do it for the next few days every day to get them back in order.

Right now I am sipping on a hot cup of 130 calorie cappuccino that I reserve for Sunday mornings. And today I believe I will curl up and read and give myself a break.

Lifting my arms today seems out of the question altogether. But if I feel like taking a walk later, I may. I can even ride the bike - as all exercise is also FOR ME, but not a luxury I can give myself for one day a week.

So reading and my cap are good enough for me.

What I did for me today I used the Red Light Therapy booth at the gym today I have read articles on the internet that Red light therapy may help with the inflammation of RA so I'm giving it a try and its some thing I am doing for me

I challenge you to daily do one thing just for you. Maybe put on makeup. Get a pedicure, put lotion on your tootsies. SOMETHING. And then come here and tell us what you did.

WE have to care for ourselves because no one else will do it for us!
