I am 52 and I started SB on Oct. 9th, the day after Cdn. thanksgiving - had to get my mashed potatoes, stuffing and pumpkin pie in first - so I have completed 10 days. I am down 3 pounds and feel fantastic! I am committed to 30 minutes of cardio a day which has been doable so far, if I can't get the treadmill in before work, I take my sneakers and walk at lunch or if I get home fast enough before dark, I walk the dogs. Last night after a very stressful day at work, instead of a glass of wine, I did yoga for 20 minutes.
I have never had to worry about weight until I hit menopause then it seemed to creep on and mostly in my belly. When my waist size hit 35" and the tape measure I got from Heart & Stroke said 'high risk' I decided it was time to do something.
SB seems to be working for me so far, I really don't have any cravings. I do find not having a drink in the evening tough, mostly because of the ritual of sitting with my husband over a glass of wine but it is getting easier every day and I am just trying to find a new ritual. I am committed to this change!
