Yes, I've been listening to The Secret and The Power on audio book a lot lately. Have been big on the "thoughts become things" concept for a few years since my friends and I watched the movie of The Secret on our girls weekend, and also witnessing how the power of prayer can be strong in people's lives. I'm not so good at using it in my own life, but am trying to really visualize where I want to be to help myself get there. One of my girlfriends actually has a theology degree and teaches vision journaling workshops sometimes, so that inspired me. :-)

What a great idea - going to sticky this thread to keep it on top.
I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing. Agatha Christie ----------------------- Kierae
I'm having real trouble feeling motivated. I have the desire to be slim and healthy but haven't found the excitement, the "yeah, this is the time I am going to succeed!" feeling that I really want to have. Too many times I've dieted for a month or two or three, only to go back to my habits again and wind up heavier and more depressed about my appearance.
So, Here's something I'm going to do to try to rev myself up, and maybe some of you would like to join me.
I'm going to make a "vision journal" for myself, based on my goal weight. I'm getting a blank notebook (I suggest a sketch book type book with no lines) and I'm going to collect photos of my "best future self". Go pretend shopping for your ideal size... what would you wear to work, on the weekends, for a fun night out, even PJs. I know my "style" for my future thin self is different from the frumpy dumpy non-style I have right now. I'll probably even cut the heads off to better imagine myself there. I don't buy a ton of magazines, so I will probably copy things I like from web pages and print them in groups.
If you're not the scissors-and-glue stick type, just keep a folder on your computer and "clip" images to keep in there.
Maybe seeing where I want to end up will help me find the wherewithall to actually get there! Let's have fun with it! Plus, it's something to keep me out of the fridge! Hahahaha!
