Working out is definitely recommended; the best way to do it easily is walking - since starting phase 1 i've started walking 3 or more miles a day, in different segments - all of these while walking my dog. My dog gets great exercise and I do too! And fresh air :)

I take some cardio classes as well (kickboxing and Piloxing), and honestly, 2 days ago I had the greatest Piloxing class ever - that night I had a protein rich meal of lean steak and green beans.

If you're feeling tired, up your protein before you work out, and make sure you give yourself plenty of time to digest (1.5 to 2 hours - 2 hours is best) and hydrate hydrate hydrate!

For me alot of it is mental, so I have to tell myself i'm NOT tired, I feel great! Power on!

I have had no problems working out on phase 1 but I have heard Turbo Fire is quite intense and would exhaust most folks. Maybe save that for when you are on phase 2.

You might consider increasing your protein because my guestimate has you at the low end of the range. Definitely add dairy..definitely add beans (add the beans to your salad).

In general, I have:

B: 2 scrambled eggs, spicy V-8 juice
S: 2 stalks celery with 2 light laughing cow cheese
L: 1 head romaine lettuce, 1 tomato, 1/2 avocado, 1/2 oz. grated parmesan cheese and 2 tbs. cesar dressing made with olive oil
S: 3/4 c. 2% Fage Greek yogurt with vanilla extract and 1/2 oz. walnuts
D: Ground sirloin patty and 2 c. stir fry veggies
S: 1 oz. pistachio nuts

I'm losing weight so it seems to be working.

Caffeine is my drug of choice. Before I do the Slim in 6 workout, I make a shake in the blender with iced coffee & whey protein. Works for me.

I did 2 hours of cardio every day on phase one and got in 12,500 steps and had no problems.

Good carbs for phase 1 are milk/yogurt (2 cups per day), cheese, nuts, veggies, and beans. Sometimes I'd cheat with berries.

I did phase 1 while exercising but, if you feel bad doing phase 1 add a bit of healthy carbs just be careful. I think this is very much about doing what works.

Get in lots of water too. Phase one and lots of exercise in this heat can cause dehydration.

Are you taking in enough calories to fuel the metabolism AND the workout (ie you need more than 1200 calories). Making sure you are getting in some beans and the dairy will help with the energy levels. That and eating every 3 hours.

I seem to have no energy to workout and I've restarted Phase 1 since coming back from vacation. I am doing Turbo Fire and wonder if I should alter my diet at all to compensate for the tough workouts I've been doing?
