Great challenge! I have to watch my sodium due to an inner ear issue. So nothing processed, prepackaged, convenience foods and so on. All things are from scratch. Even without adding salt to anything, just using canned items, jarred spaghetti sauce, processed foods etc, I was eating almost 3500 mg a day. Now I am eating only about 1500 mg a day minimum and 2000 mg a day maximum and I feel so much better for it!

I was having a struggle with my sodium and made two food changes recently which really help keep my numbers in check.
I switched to Simply Jiff Peanut Butter and Smart Balance low sodium butter spread.
Great challenge Kierae! I have been meaning to write you and ask you about sodium info, now I don't have to!

This challenge is a good one. I used to think that I can eat the frozen meals and was doing great. I didn't even think about the sodium. Generally, I know that too much sodium is bad, but it didn't register until I joined this group! I will definitely keep my sodium in check.
I will make an effort.

Happy Tuesday to you!
Sodium. It seems to be in everything that we buy. It is even in foods such as cookies, soda, and breads.
Your challenge today is to KEEP YOUR SODIUM IN CHECK & READ LABELS! Try to keep your sodium under 2300 (lower than that is preferred). Watch out for these foods as they have lots of salt in them:
*Snack foods (crackers, chips, cookies)
Remember: READ LABELS!
Also, instead of using salt while you are cooking, try some other ways to flavor your foods:
*Fresh or dried herbs
*Lemon or lime juice
*Low sodium broth
Have a READING MY LABELS Tuesday!
