I have been concentrating on my Aerobic steps only-I am shooting for 2 1/2 to 3 miles a day, either on my treadmill, or doing a powerwalk... As far as steps go, you really are doing great! Guess I need to wear my pedometer all day in order to get a good step reading.... Kathleen

I wear mine clipped to my waistband of pant about 5 inches from the side seam. It wears better there for me and logs correctly. Hope this helps you.

I know this may sound stupid but I just got a pedometer yesterday but when I had it in my pocket it kept on reset on me. As you probably can tell I've never used one before. Any suggestions? *blushes*

You might try putting in on the waistband of you pants and move it close to the middle of you hip on the side. That helped me get mine recorded like it should. I have forgot to wear mine like I should with Christopher having strep again and now my diabetes is back. My train of thought is not what it should be.

My pedometer I got at Target and I wear it on my sock. I had trouble getting it to count my steps when I had it on my pocket.

I like the pedometers that have a cover where you can't reset them. I place mine on the small pocket of my jeans and usually I never have a problem with it there. It does very well for me there.

I have several problems with pedometers:
1. on my hip I tend to reset it or knock it off
2. I have a fairly good one that was put away so I could find it emoticon
3. the only way I've found to wear them that I don't knock it off or reset is on the sock or shoe, definitely NOT recommended.

#2 is the stopper right now. I figure that as soon as I purchase a new one the old one will emerge.

If it is to be, it is up to me!

im not a good walker due to having arthritus as well as asthma and ive been so unlucky with pedometers from those inaccurate cheap ones that jiggle as you wiggle to the ones that fall off down the neares grid when your out and never seen again
the only way i can monitor myself at all is to say ive been out today and walked round town for half an hour etc
i would loke to pedometer myself as some days i never even move at all (usually after a night out if ive been dancing and then my kneees hurt and sewll and walknig cant be or im just lazy and tired and sleepy
so really i need to do something anyone any ideas

publish and be damned

I bought mine through Amazon. It's an Omron. I purchased it after reading the reviews and seeing that it had a $10 instant rebate. I just got it Monday and it's really easy to set up and use. It counts my steps, calories, and distance. I has a memory for up to 7 days as well. Good luck finding something you like.

I purchased mine from Walmart and it is a Sportline Brand. I would figure most any brand that you got would do pretty good for you. Pick out something you like and you will do ok.

What is a good brand of pedometer to get? I have one that was "free" from a cereal and it is worth just what I paid for it! Which ones have worked well for you?

I just got my pedometer this week because I was curious how much I walked in a day. I work in an office but I'm up and down all the time. I will take up the challenge and see what I can accomplish in a day. I've been sick so I haven't been walking much when I'm at home but my only day of wearing the pedometer all week I was just under 4000 so today I'll get it to 4500.

I know that some of us struggle with cardio and wanted to set the board up for you just to keep up with your daily steps that you are taking. My first investment in trying to change my lifestyle was purchasing a pedometer and wearing it to see how much I was doing in a day and needless to say it was not good. I now try to average at least 5000 to 7000 steps per day to help with the weight loss. I challenge you see how many steps you take in a day and increase by 500 then in a couple of months increase another 500 till you reach a goal of at least 5000 or more per day. If you already average that then set you goal to go higher. If you would like maybe we could have a step challenge also. Please post your goal you would like to reach and them post the steps on a daily basis if you would like. Let's all enjoy walking.
