I'm not good at super-structured programs. I like to do my own thing. I have a variety of DVDs at home, and I aim to make it to the gym on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I do 20-30 minutes of strength training and then an hour or more on the elliptical (depending on how crowded the gym is).

On one or two other days in the week I will do a fitness video. I try to do something every day, even if I just walk to the store or the park or something. When the weather is better I ride my bike several times a week.

I have committed myself to 20 minutes every day of cardio on my ellipical, treadmill, or bike. Usually if I go for 20 minutes then I end up wanting to do more, I would say I do about 3-4 days a week which are 40-60 minute sessions. I strength train two days a week for 15-20 minutes right now, I would like to do more but I injured my chest wall and the strength exercises I can do are limited.

The best thing I ever did was ditch the gym and invest in exercise equipment for my home. I got some awesome deals on craigslist, and now I can hop on the equipment for 20 minutes here, 20 minutes there...it's great. This is what I got, the deals are definitely out there:

Treadmill: free, because the cord was cut by a contractor (dh fixed in 15 minutes, it's a $4500 machine!)
recumbent bike: $25 (digital display but manual resistance)
elliptical: $60 (low end machine but it works great for me, console controlled resistance)
weider home gym: $50
free weights $35
resistance bands $20
yoga mat: $15

So all in, a complete gym for $205 thanks to craigslist. Our next expense is to add a TV to the garage (we put the equipment in our garage and park in the driveway). Right now I watch stuff on the computer while we are working out.

Hi everyone! I just joined this thread a couple of days ago. My name is Kristyn, and I'm move than thrilled to be here. I know that the days a head of me are not going all going to be easy but, I'm ready to face them head on. I have cleaned up our basement and will have my choice of many exercises. I have a treadmill, a kettle bell workout, walking dvd, and zumba for xbox -- I'm working on a weekly schedule right now. I plan on post a calendar by the treadmill to keep track of my exercise. I am a scrapbooker, so, as another motivator, I'm going to use my die cut machine to punch out feet. I'm going to tape one foot on the wall for every pound I lose in 2013.

I thank you all for being here.
Kristyn

I do strength training MWF with a little cardio thrown in for good measure. S, T, Th, F are run days and I'll also do a group exercise class or two. Saturdays, I do Zumba, spin and yoga classes.

Do to being limited in movements, I do my own program as I am able.

I just started a 9 week program using a PS3 game, EA Sports Active 2. I just finished 2 out of 36 workouts on medium intensity...pretty challenging for me.

I'm also going to start going to Zumba twice a week next year.

What workout program are you currently working on....is it something you put together youself or more like a structured program you're following....like Jillian Michaels or some Beachbody program....Starting Jan. 1, 2013 I'm going to start Jillian's Body Revolution again...
