I can't wait to be able to wear sexy lingerie without feeling like a whale caught in a net. And to be able to wear skirts and dresses without the dreaded thigh rub.

I'm so over muffin topping everything I wear, especially jeans.

My belly gets in the way when I do some exercises like forward bends. I'm also too heavy to do yoga poses I could do before. That bugs the hell out of me.

I can't wait until the decision of whether or not to buy a shirt is determined by how much I like the shirt, not by how much backfat shows.

I also can't wait to buy shorts that are above the "jiggle line", which for me is about an inch above my knee.

You know you done when you:
sit in a chair and not feel as tho I am going to break it.
walk to the end of the block without getting winded
Be able to wear heals again (feet swollen)
no longer can buy clothes at a large lady shop because the sizes are not large enough.
Seat belts do not fit you
people treat you like a handicap person who can not do anything for their self.
spend more money on medicine than you do on rent. (you know what I mean)
take a picture in a group and all you see if your fat body and nothing else

I need to take a moment to grump about clothes. Forever XXI at one of our malls now carries plus sizes in the store! Woohoo!! Cheap trendy clothes for bigger girls at last! Yeah, ha, no. My friend and I went in and looked, omg. It was all so ugly, there wasn't a single thing in there I would wear. And nothing had sleeves on it! It was terrible. Honestly the thing I can't wait for most is getting to wear good clothes again!!

Life is not fair, or unfair, it is simply what you make of it!

Aside from being afraid of heights I want to get on a roller coaster and be able to sit with another person!
I also hate having trouble getting a shirt that is long enough. Why would you make a shirt that is 2XL and it not only be short but have you noticed that most big girl clothes don't have room for boobs?! Most big girls have big boobs! Hello! Boobs are made partly of fatty tissue

Always move forward

I also can't wait until I don't see any rolls while in the bath tub and my stomach doesn't stick out of the water! Haha

And along a similar line I can't wait to be able to shave without having to do a million yoga positions.....

I can't wait to be able to tuck something into leggings/jeans/trousers (like a blouse for work)

I have never been able to do that just because of how much lower abdominal fat I have. :(

I can't wait to be able to shop for clothes and enjoy myself! Right now, I dread even walking into a clothing store because I know that I won't find anything. If I go with my friends, they'll ask why I didn't buy anything. It's too embarrassing to say, "Because I'm too fat. Nothing even comes close to fitting me in this store."

I'm in my 20s. I want to begin living like a 20-something is supposed to - happy, carefree, and satisfied with life.

Pretty much what everyone else had said. Top 3 are:
1. Avoiding pictures. People have even noticed that I don't appear in many pictures when we send them pictures of my 3 year old. I can't wait to be right there with him posing for the camera.
2. Buying ridiculous clothes. Why are plus size clothing so ugly? I really don't want to walk around in a floral print with ugly colors the rest of my life. Went to Disneyland in Sept. and needed some T-shirts to wear so I wouldn't be too hot. Ended up with shirts I hated but they were the only ones that fit.
3. Huffin, puffin, and sweating. No explanation needed.
These are the things I can't wait to change.

whenever a guy's looking at me...
"is he checking me out?? wow..."
"...or is he amazed at how big i am? :/ "

EDIT:
1.bath towels are never big enough to fully wrap around the lower part of my belly and butt....
2.the way my butt bounces whenever i walk fast or run... this is actually the main reason why i abstain from running... because i feel like a ridiculous cartoon. (yeah, i'm pear-shaped)
3.when walking, blouses always move upwards because of my belly. so i have to buy only long blouses.
4.short and tight sleeves make my arms look like chicken rolls....
5. buying shoes about 1/2- 1 size larger than my actual shoe size... because thanks to the extra fat, my feet are extra wide...
6.being unable to lift my knees up to my chest (when exercising), not because my muscles are not flexible enough, but because my jelly belly gets in the way.... :(
7.being unable to see my shoes when standing up because of my belly...
8. always being ashamed when having to lift my arms to reach an object (wearing summer blouses) because i hate the way my flabby arms tremble... it's like i have chicken wings, yucks! emoticon
9.calf socks are always shorter than they should... because of my huge calves.
10.can't wear dresses and skirts because i always get inflammed where my thighs rub against each other.

Oh yeah I can so relate to so many of these
1) Chub rub of course.
2) The belly roll sweat (ugh)
3) boob sweat (lovely huh)
4) Plus size clothes in Canada are SUPER expensive and even harder to find than back in the states
5) The fear that people are looking at you in a bad way. I even had a car of guys moo at me a couple of times emoticon
6) The most embarrassing though was going in a cute lingerie store to look around (it was motivation) and have the lady meet me just past the door and tell me they don't carry my size (Rude lady La Vie En Rose in the Eaton Centre Toronto) Either that or they ignore you because you can't possibly wear their clothing.
7) My messed up hormones
8) Feeling like everyone thinks I am fat
9) Not having many pictures of my hubby and myself. My grandmother will be 90 in January. She helped raise me and was the only mom I had growing up. I have only gotten to see her once in the past 3 1/2 years. I would like to have professional photos of hubby and I done next year in time for Mother's day.

Where do I even start??
1. Back fat. Not the kind you get when your bra doesn't fit right either...

Shopping, Shopping, Shopping! I'm going to need to buy a suit in January, and I am on a mission to be two sizes down before I drop that kind of money.

For all of you DONE girls who mentioned the chub rub thing, there is a great product called "Body Glide" that looks like roll-on deodorant, but is an anti-chafe stick. I use it every day between my thighs and I never have an sort of rubbing or uncomfortableness anymore. They make an original formula and one for women, but the women's comes in a smaller container, so I just buy the regular. You can get it at sports stores in the running section, or through Amazon. I also use it when I have new shoes that feel like they might blister. It's really a great product.

Fat Girl Problem that...bother me
1. Stomach sweat (under the belly fold to be precise)
2. Knee and feet pain (plantar facititis)
3. Underwear sweat (enough said)
4. Not being able to walk up a flight of stairs without being winded
5. Shopping online or only at store's that are exclusively for plus sizes to avoid the pitiful looks of people
6. Feeling like I waddle
7. People watching what you put on your plate. I hate that

#1 fat girl problem: When someone calls you out on your weight. I think it's really embarrassing when someone asks whether or not I've gained or lost weight because it's so noticeable. Truly will not miss that at all. For instance being made fun of by the boys in the back of the classroom for being too heavy and making the seat creek a little. Not having doors opened for you like every other lady on the planet because the immature man holding it is disgusted by my waist size. People hugging the wall far too unnecessarily as I pass because they think we might run into each other. I'm not embarrassed to be myself or emotionally detered by the negative attention but com'on. Even those of us made of steel won't miss those rude, demonstratively loathing reactions from total strangers. Definitely won't miss that fat girl problem.

So many things I won't miss:

The feel of my fat tummy laying on my thighs.
The holes in the inner parts of my pants from friction.
The way I sweat buckets in the summer so it sometimes looks like I wet myself when I didn't.
The way the under bra sweat makes me break out and always makes me afraid I stink.
The ugly clothes and undies because I can't afford the few I can find that I like that would fit--they cost twice as much as the smaller clothes.
The way people look at me as if I'm disgusting.
The having to drive with my toes because I have to move the seat way back to accommodate my tummy and the steering wheel.

I want to be able to walk down hallways without being afraid of getting stuck. The hallways at work are extremely small.

1. Chafing - I wear spanks with skirts, not always to slim, but to avoid chafing
2. Belly roll sweat. And T-Shirts getting caught in a belly roll and coming out with sweat marks.
3. Overall sweat.
4. Fitting into rings I haven't worn in years but refused to get resized. And having necklaces hang where they're supposed to and not turning into chokers.
5. Less painful massages - because the smaller/less fat you have, the skin is less lose (hopefully, and toning exercises!) and doesn't get pushed into bunches and pinch itself during a theraputic massage.

Like so many of you, I can't wait until I can wear cute clothes again instead of ugly plus size clothes! Who designs those things, anyway? emoticon

I also am looking forward to doing things I used to enjoy, like kayaking. It's embarrassing to look forward to going kayaking with your kids only to find out that your weight is higher than the kayak limit. emoticon That's going to change, though, for ALL OF US!

Most of all, I guess I am looking forward to dating again and finding someone special to share my life with. I have been divorced for almost ten years (and haven't dated for about 25!) but I just am too ashamed of my weight and how I look right now (see above note about ugly clothes!) to put myself back out there right now.

The one thing that I've always sort of held dear to my heart is now the one thing I can't wait to give up, and that is blaming everything on my being overweight.
I used to be afraid that if I lost weight and people still criticized me or didn't like me then I would have to deal with a defect in ME, my personality- but lately I look forward to the opportunity to become accountable in all facets of my life, and live it well, and have good boundaries and decide for myself what I should accept as a true defect of character or just pass off as "their stuff".

Love, Ginger

I will be happy when the flab is gone. I have worked very hard to firm up but it will be so wonderful when there is no more freaking slapping skin when I exercise.

I'd love to lose the chub rub. I have so many dresses and skirts that I don't wear because chub rub. It hurts!!!!
I'm also kinda disappointed in myself - I had gastric bypass surgery and following that a panniculectomy (removal of extra skin, kinda like a tummy tuck but without touching the stomach muscles). I loved my old belly - it was like having a built in arm rest. Well, the arm rest is back, but not as big. Yes, I have put on some abdominal weight and would like that to go.

3. If you go to any department store and look in their clearance section the sizes they have the most of (in my experience) are 0-6. I would like to be in that range . Just for the bargain. You can call me cheap. I don't care.
4. I want to shop in the petite section. I am done shopping in the "women's section" AKA Fat woman area. Not only because I am going to be small but... never mind...I just want to be able to find my size there.
5. Using my hand to wave goodbye instead of my back arm fat.
6. Getting rid of my big thighs.
7. Feeling fit and not fat. It's such a bad feeling.
8. When I run I want to feel spritely. I can't really say that I do that yet but one day.
9. Having a fit tummy instead of a fat tummy!

You done girls covered them all but my main problem is not looking how I feel. I dont want to hide from the camera anymore as to avoid thinking "am I really that huge?" and then denying the fact that I am that heavy and give a little thought like "maybe I am just really unphotogenic" or "the camera really puts on the pounds".

- Not sweating when you are getting ready or blow-drying your hair...or have sweat drip from your mid-section...ugh!
- Being able to sit in a chair without it squeaking or creaking.
- Not having this lonja or muffin top around my waist and seeing that bump in my dresses, etc.
- Getting rid of some of this inner thigh fat and my bat wings (upper arms)
- Being able to put something on in my closet without have to try on other things because I am feeling too fat or uncomfortable
- Being more comfortable in an airline seat without feeling like I need to keep every part of my body sucked in because it might touch or bother someone else.
- Overall not sweating so much!
- Not having the top of my undies roll down because of my stomach and then trying to find a way to discreetly pull them back up (this happens with the one that are too big and too small!)
- Going to Zumba and not worrying about my top lifting too high where it might show my skin or fat!

Don't ever let anyone else but YOU define your self-worth.

- Not having "lunch lady arms"
- Not having knee and foot pain (I just lost 15 lbs, and have noticed a huge improvement here)
- Shopping in thrift stores. I love the hunt for a bargain!
- Being comfortable on an airplane.
- Be able to bend, kneel, or sit on the floor
- Not being so sweaty!
- Not have my jeans dig into my belly when I sit, but then still gape in the back and show my a$$ crack.
- Wear a cute bra.
- Have my thinning hair grow back. I'm 90% convinced that years of eating garbage has malnourished me to the point of hair loss.

I have to agree with the thigh rub I haven't worn a skirt or dress in years. I would also have to say wearing a swim suit. I have acted like I hate to swim for years to avoid wearing any type of swim suit to hide my weight.

Oh, where to begin?

-Having to wear some sort of arm cover because finding dresses and tops with sleeps longer than a cap is near impossible.
-Not being able to wear a bathing suit. I have to wear long swim shorts and a tankini to even feel somewhat comfortable going out in public.
-Having lost weight and then gain it back again and now how much better I felt when I wasn't as heavy.
-Thigh rub. I have to wear shorts under my maxi skirts otherwise I will be a grumpy mess and won't be able to go anywhere.
-Varicose veins
-Stretch marks. I will never be able to get rid of them. Ever. Even if I lose weight I have to deal with these stupid stretch marks.
-Small bathroom stalls. Need I say more?
-Trying on three different shirts in the morning and just settling on the one that shows the least back fat.
-When you feel an elevator or whatever shake when you step on it.
-Pants shopping. If you have any hips/butt/thigh then you know how difficult this is.

I'm sure there are a lot more.

I am totally with you on the shirts with too small of sleeves thing. I mean, really, if you are fat all over, why do they assume your arms aren't? I just can't even picture the type of body shape that can fit those tops, though I suppose they exist.

1. Other than the fact that I have to shop for non-cute clothes, why do the shirts for plus sized woman all assume we all have size DD plus boobs? I will be so happy when I can shop in the regular clothing section and buy fitted shirts where the boob areas aren't hanging off of me.

2. When I lose my weight I be glad when I can go to an amusement park and don't have to be worried about squeezing into a roller coaster seat with my kids. Will I fit? Can I ride this? Or talk my husband into riding certain rides with the kids "insert excuse" just because I'm not sure if I will fit.

I love Yoga, it has saved my back, and I've taken classes for over 10 years now. (always beginner, and I have to modify some poses for knee, back, wrist, etc issues) We moved back to Az. about a year ago and I finally found a great instructor again a few weeks ago, so now I'm getting back in the groove. I prefer a class over home practice for motivation etc.

Early on, over 10 years ago, I almost didn't ever go to another class, because of a rude instructor at the Y. She came by my mat and said "I know your body is in its own way" blah blah blah. Yes I am an apple shape, and my stomach is my problem area. And yes, it IS in my way when I'm doing some poses. Thankfully she is the glaring exception~ most Yoga instructors are very kind.

I ALWAYS (and I peek so I know LOL) have the biggest stomach in every class. I go to regular, not plus size classes, so that's probably why. I'm so looking forward to reaching even 1/2 way towards my goal, so as to have more freedom in bending. I'm a senior and only 5'0" tall so that adds to the mix of things. So far I've lost 3" off my waist and going down!

Mine is having that thought in my head of how awesome I look then catch the reality in the mirror. I am a pretty confident girl except with my physical appearance.

I'm doing this for me, and no one else.

Back in January I got my Associates in Business Management and Administration, so I usually look at receptionist jobs and office assistants, and like; but I also look at factory work because I did that for years prior to going into the Army and there are tons of factories across Indiana and Illinois. I also bug Family Dollar and Dollar General often. I get tons of interviews but no call backs, I even call them back often and they always say they picked someone else.

Always move forward

Hi Yaeme, I don't like shopping either so most of my clothes come from online places. Once in a while something at a store will catch my eye but it won't be in my size. I have brought this problem on myself and am working hard on getting healthy. What kind of work are you looking for?

Glassgirl: I believe you are right about people seeing the fat and not the whole person. I haven't always been heavy. Ironically I didn't get fat until I was in the Army. Somehow I gained 100 lbs with my 2nd daughter, and she is now 9 and I still have that weight. But anyhow, I have caught myself stereotyping overweight people. I believe I have been passed up for jobs because of my weight, and that really sucks cause I REALLY need and Want a job.
One of the things I really miss from my slimmer days is clothes shopping! Now I hate it.

Always move forward

Benabefit mentions people seeing the weight and not the person. I am large breasted and have been called "sir" more than once. I know I am not attractive but it is obvious that I am a woman. The person just sees a fatso and it is very hurtful.

Cellulite.

Ok I know slim people get it too - and I try not to let it bug me in the scheme of things but I don't like the fact that it will still be there however much I lose.

But hey, healthy is why I'm doing this!!!!

-Figuring what to wear that won't make me look "fat" but still able to go out in the hot sun of summer.
-Wishing I could wear the cute clothes I see on other gals.

1) Super-expensive underwear and bras- even the ugly stuff costs more, let alone trying to find something that is relatively pretty or sexy

2) Still feeling unattractive even when I spend the extra money on the above

3) Sweating- even if I am only wearing the above

4) Not wanting my husband to see me only wearing the above, cuz I still feel ugly, I'm sweating, and I feel bad since it cost more than I wanted to spend... you get the idea :-)

Wow I wish I'd read this earlier!!

For me it's:

- The fat arm thing - why is it so hard to get tops with sleeves that reach your elbows to cover it? And why do they make tops with sleeves where the top part fits - but the sleeves are too tight?

- The double chin thing, I had the remaining fat lipo'd when I lost a lot of weight about 8 years ago - the chins grew back as the rest of me grew emoticon

The floral thing bugs the hell out of me too, it's like we should all be relegated to muumuus

All of my problems have already been mentioned, but warrant being mentioned again...

1) Jiggly arm wing/flap - My mom says it runs in our family and it'll just be there forever, even when I'm thinner. I hope she's wrong!
2) Thigh rub - When my thighs don't rub together anymore, I'll consider my weight loss journey a success!
3) Back pain - I have a lot of problems with my back, particularly when I'm trying to exercise. I can't wait to have stronger back and less to carry.

Reading this thread makes tears come to my eyes...first tears of feeling of relief to know I am not alone, second tears of grief as we really list all our losses troubles and grief from being the fat girl....man can I relate to this list here's a few I didn't see yet, maybe missed
1. Making self-deprecating joke regarding my weight because I can tell everyone else is thinking about it and it will just ease the tension if I am the one to acknowledge it and act like it is fine, when its not.
2. being anything other than totally proud and grateful for every aspect of my body, my life and who I am. Apart from the weight this is true, time to make it true of every area.

I relate to many others already posted here esp.
2. knee joint pain
3. Other seeing the weight and not me
4. jiggly arms
5. wearing clothes because they are cute not soley because they are slimming or do not draw attention to a problem area.
6. fitting into plane seats, theater seats, stadium seats better.

I am so with you Susan on on the thigh rub!! I will be happy to get rid of that too!! I would also like to be able to walk on an airplane and not have to turn sideways to get down the eisle or ask for an extender because the seatbelt doesn't fit.

The thigh rub! I have to wear old lady style girdles under my skirts and dresses in the summer, but I have the "swee-swee" sound all year long from those, pantyhose and jeans!
My back fat is getting bigger and jiggles whenever I shake a bottle. My "muffin top" is way out of control and pushes my jeans down.
