Captain motivates the team through sending sparkmails and messages on sparkpages etc.
In the through the holiday challenge we had co-captains but the January challenge we didn't have enough volunteers and seeing its only a month I didn't push it.

SGT Sunny thought you were going to head up a sunny gals team.

Nicolette, what does the captain do? And could we have a co-captain perhaps?
Glad to hear they are keeping the teams together and that a lot of people are returning. I know this has really helped me, I have gone beyond 180 every week in Jan. and on days I wanted to be lazy I just remembered that the team needed me to finish.
I like the idea of exercising smart! I am doing some of my cardio on my recumbent bike which would fall in the smart category.

Saying emoticon emoticon to y'all for the first time!

I'm so proud of the hard work all of us have done. I am on the low end of minutes, but I am so inspired by everyone who is really kicking cardio/strength straining booty!! emoticon emoticon

I have Fibromyalgia and that first week was rough because of flare ups plus migraines. Because of my limitations, My goal has been to beat my week before minutes. So far I have done that, but I've not been hitting ultimate goal of 180. However, I am striving to hit 180 this week and am on track to do so. Sometimes I just need a gentle push to keep me moving as it's easy for me to make excuses not to finish what I started. I'm like Tonya on this season's Biggest Loser I start strong in the week only flop towards the end.

I will give my all and I know y'all will too!

CETHIA... do what ya gotta do... let's rock this challenge!!

Walking one hour (treadmill) every single day and taking a daily 60 minute water aerobics class. Thank God for the Y because it's just too cold outside!!

BTW... are any of you forcers doing either of the February challenges!?! It sure would be nice if we can stick together with the same people and same name!!

I have a cunning plan, and I'm sharing it with you my team-mates.. This week I will work smarter, not harder to excel in this challenge.

I was pushing too hard the 2nd week, and needed to slow down the 3rd. This week I'll be doing yoga, walks, pilates and stretching, and will stay away from running (It's too cold outside anyways..) and any heavy resistance training.

*rubs hands and snickers quietly to myself*, this way I'll get more minutes for my calories burned!

Smart move, Sunny. I decided to take my rest day yesterday instead of Saturday, and I'm feeling much, much better today. Planning to take my kid ice-skating or swimming tomorrow to get the minutes and fitness days in despite "slacking" Thursday.

I would totally join another fitness minute challenge in Feb if there is one.

Certhia, I have been feeling a bit sore too. Instead of doing one long workout, I broke it up yesterday, that seems to have helped, I am feel less sore today! I was looking at my minutes and I have doubled what I normally do! So this challenge is really helping me keep moving. I like the length too, a month is perfect.

No work today, but I decided to get a walk in anyways. It was freezing outside (-10 celsius and windy), but I put my thickest wool coat on, wore a huge scarf and gloves and wore my spiky shoes.

I've been walking to work Monday to Friday this past week to get my minutes every day. And now I just did several lower-body workouts in a row with Coach Nicole (even though it's Sunday!), just because I wanted to stay on top of this challenge for the next week. I love how this challenge is motivating me to get moving more, and to feel so great about it too.

This has been a slow week for me. I am working thru depression over not getting a job. I was laid off in May and I am finally trying to come back to who I used to be. I will do much better next week. I am in physical therapy and need to move - I have to crawl emoticon but in 30 min cardio intervals. emoticon

I have been getting some fitness in even with the bad sinus headaches & Friday was my best day so far this month.
