My goals (altered due to my thyroid treatment) ~

Start weight ~ 194

I'm bummed I didn't meet my end goal, esp since it was altered due to my treatment. TOM showed up and brought poor food choices with it due to strong cravings. I was at 179 and shot up to 185. I know I didn't eat that many calories! Maybe a few pounds worth, but not 6. I was down to 183 on July 4th and the shorts feel a bit looser today than yesterday, so hopefully some of the bloat is gone. So I finish up this challenge down 11 pounds officially. I will be using the 183 as the start weight in the new challenge since it is my final weigh in here. Off to go set some new goals!

Ok, the weight hasn't come off as fast as I would like, but I am still happy with this. My overall goal is to at least get back to where I was before freshman 18. Since I started this challenge late in May I have manged to lose six pounds. It's been very slow, but I have really worked hard on revamping my eating habits more than ever, and focused more on exercise. I drink NO sodas, or sweetened drinks, very little sweets if any, little bread,and lots of proteins, fruits and veggies. The absolute best part, was the the compliments from family, and hubby. My mom kept starring at me telling me how good I looked :D and my husband actually made me model my legs one night because he said they were getting skinny!I am going to measure this weekend, because I am certain that I have lost inches. I'm ready to rock the socks off of the next challenge though! CONGRATS on all you AWESOME Goddesses for making your goals and to Nixxie for making hers and keeping us in check!!! XOXO

Start weight ~ 149.3 (at a plateau since 2/17/12... boo!)

Happy Fourth!

I weighed in today and I was up a few pounds. I believe this is due to TOM, so I guess I am not too upset about it. Before my TOM, I was sitting at 288. Not a major loss, but a loss. I still struggle with getting my food logged. I have done better in the last month, and I think that is why I have started to lose.

So, I'll just drink my water and reweigh in a couple of days for the Red Hot Heartbreakers challenge. Have a great day.

Hey ladies well I weighed in at 283 this morning not to bad still a ways from my goal weight but I am happy with the progress that has been made in other areas so I cannot complain :)
I love that i am beginning to figure this all out and that i know what is and is not working for me as far as my weight loss goals go...today i have begun a new endeavor I am eating only serving
sizes. Let me tell you there is a big difference in what a serving size is and what I have been eating I am also finding I can eat surprising amounts of fruits and veggies for minimal calories :) which is always a good thing... This way I can now be lined out for our next challenge. Congrats to everybody that is still here I have thoroughly enjoyed this challenge :)

Happy 4th Ladies!!

I weighed in today but I am about to start TOM tomorrow so I'm not sure this is totally accurate but, I am 213. I finished +3 from my goal but I am happy. I am still 14lbs down from where I started and given the learning curve this has been, I'm happy with it.

I have been incredibly lazy these last two weeks, just lots of stress and it has really killed my desire to get out exercising. I'm trying hard to find that groove again but it might not fully come back until JJ goes back to school next week.

Hope everyone is happy with their progress, I'm so excited for the new challenge!

Good morning ladies. As promised, I am back with my final results for this challenge. I took my measurements on June 17th and here are the final results:
left thigh: 27 inches Now 25.75inches
right thigh: 26 inches Now 25.5 inches
left arm: 13.5 inches Now 13.5 (no change)
right arm: 14 inches Now 13 inches
upper tummy: 36 inches Now 34 inches
lower tummy: 40 inches Now 39 inches

So as you can see, I did lose inches as I said I would. :0) Now for the pounds....... up to 200lbs!!! I am not tripping about it as I know why. And I also know that when I weigh in next week, I will be down a couple of pounds.

Hoping to see more post on here before the day is over, I am curious to see how others did.

Awww, awesome! B actually has to work all day Wed (both jobs), off Thurs morning, off Friday night and the weekend.. LOL It's all screwy, so J and I are going to hang out at the water park with a picnic lunch and then have a Wii battle later and then back out in the evening for fireworks! He doesn't know that yet because he doesn't pay attention to the holiday bit just yet so it's going to be a sweet little surprise :) Then on Friday night we are going to celebrate my birthday at the drive in theater. We decided to not have a cake, since I dont want it and no one else really cares. YAY :)
I think you have an amazing plan for your cookout! Sounds delicious. Proud of you :) Luckily I am not having the cravings this month. I think it's helping me to stay full of fiber and good things! hehe

Nix, preach woman!! Lol, I am glad that I am the one doing the grilling this week. We are actually celebrating everything Friday on you and my bro's bday. I am definitely making sure I grill things special for me and making sure I grill stuff for everyone else. For instances, I really don't eat red meat much. So I will be grilling turkey burgers for me and hamburgers for everyone else. I won't be eating any red meat products, just turkey. For sides I am cooking veggie baked beans, corn on the cob, salad and greenbeans. I haven't decided yet what we are having for desert...... possibly sweet poatoe pie since my friend's stepdad makes it from scratch. I know I will have A PIECE, but that is all. TOM is due Monday, so I have been going nuts with the cravings!! CONGRATS again sweetie on your HUGE milestone and on kicking BUTT for this challenge. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO proud of you!!!

OMGGGGG YAYYYYYYYYY!! Today I weighed in early because it's my "lady time" this week (today is my 2nd day) and I just knew I would be bloated tomorrow and I hit my goal today! YAY!!! I'm not only at my final goal for this challenge (YAY) but I'm at my halfway mark for my journey! HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!! YAYYYYYYYYY! lol I'm seriously celebrating! I lost 23 pounds on this challenge, met ALL of my goals that I set out for myself and am feeling just awesome and proud and just.. DONE! YAY!!!


Dana ~ Awesome! I usually go with about 1.5 pounds a week. Sometimes I lose 2, other weeks, none... being a woman means I am going to bloat at times and we all have those moments of ups and downs, but when I am doing the right things, it's about 1.5 per week give or take. Glad you will have great goals in place for the next one! So often people forget that they are losing inches, also! I had the girls do measurements when we started this.. I can't wait to hear about the inches lost! Going to do mine today! Woot! Let's get it, babe!!

Gilma ~ YAY!! I was hoping you would be in, too!

Becky ~ Blah! Don't be nervous about the scale. We all know it lies and messes with us.. and it doesn't even truly matter. How you FEEL is the best indicator of success. I know you want the numbers to work with you and I want them to also, but either way, you rocked the heck out of this challenge and I am proud of you! :)

I know that tomorrow is a holiday here in the states that almost everyone celebrates with a cookout, tons of treats, fat-ladened "salads", chips, liquor, sodas, etc.. And I want you all to enjoy the day with your family, friends, pets, whoever you choose to spend the day with, but... just be careful and do things in moderation, please? You know you don't need a HUGE bowl of dessert, a ton of chips, 3 burgers, a bunch of beers, etc.. you can enjoy yourself MUCH more if you eat a bit of each thing you want and then spend the rest of the time enjoying conversation with your loved ones and friends, activities, water, and a nice day. Trust me. Food should not be the centerpiece of your day.

Personally, when I over-do it, I FEEL gross then I get upset that I ruined my efforts from the past week or more with food that I didnt even really want and the negativity cycle begins. When I make fitness a priority in the day, aim for the best choices possible, and then drink enough water and keep my goals in mind, I enjoy the day MUCH more than before when I just sat around, pigged out, and needed Pepto Bismol before bed. And then I am proud of my decisions, I sleep better, and my efforts from the week or weeks before wouldnt be wasted also! Double, triple, quadruple win!!

So focus on YOU, your journey, and what makes you feel best. Don't succumb to peer pressure to eat things you don't want and don't do things that make you feel bad. If you want to splurge then do it, but.. if you want to keep balance and make amazing choices all day, you will feel better (stomach and mind), trust me on this one!

Reaching our goals and doing what's best for your body FEELS much better than eating a 4th brownie or extra serving of Doritos. I promise you that.

I am with you ladies who didn't hit their goal for this challenge. I am okay with it bc I NEVER do good at weight loss challenges which is why I have decided for the next one I am only setting a goal of 10lbs. I also am a member of the "lose inches and pounds take forever to catch up" club. So even though I don't lose pounds I almost ALWAYS lose inches.

I will be back tomorrow for the official weigh in and results of inches.

So the scale is finally moving down, just don't know how close to my goal I will be tomorrow, but at least I got things under control and am working hard to get there! I really really wanted to hit onederland in this challenge, but that's ok. I'll do it next time around =)

HI all and happy short work week!
I have been in a real funk lately and I am not sure why- maybe missing my mom, the heat, who knows. I am pleased to say that I got in a 35 minute elliptical session today. Hopefully, this will get me back on track. Unfortunately, like others, my TOM will fall during the last weigh in, BUT I noticed that my weight was nowhere near as high as it usually is during this time. Perhaps this is glimpse of things to come.

Have a great week. It is still freaking hot here. Hope you all enjoy your Fourth. DH and I will be at the lake for the day. His brother, wife, and daughter will be out here from Michigan visiting both us and his wife's sister, who lives about 20 minutes from us.

I have come to the point where I just have to admit that I am a slow loser and when I make goals to lose 2 pounds per week I get discouraged. So no more of that, as long as I am making progress I'm happy, and I have been making progress, slowly but surely.

Let's finish this challenge out strong and move forward into the next one!!

Nix, my lady time is due the a couple days after your bday. So I know that I will see some water weight on our weigh in day. I am not that pressed about it as I know I have worked my tail off this month. My goal for the month was 1,000 fitness minutes. I ended up with 1,002. Lol, at the 2. I am not sure where that came from, but every minute counts right? Next month I am aiming for 1,500 minutes. When are you posting a topic for the new challenge in July?

I did complete my triathlon of walking, recumbent bike and Chair Dancing DVD on Tuesday then on Wednesday I had medical tests to determine why I have dizziness and headaches. I was so dizzy and such bad headaches after it was over that I had to take the rest of the day to recuperate. I began my new job this week on Thursday and was just still not feeling great so I am back to my triathlon beginning today again. I am going to take at least one day a week off from the bike and one from the dvd as it was too much for my OA. I am excited though because I did realize how much better my legs are after the surgery and I am doing things so much easier.

Hey Ladies..
Just dropping in to say a quick hey and see how everyone is doing this weekend. I have my niece and nephew here this weekend which means lots of swimming and video games however being the sneaky aunt that I am we are playing the Wii and the Kinect :) that way we all get plenty of exercise and we are drinking lots of juice and water today so that we stay hydrated trying to be a good influence and it also helps me to stay on track with what I need to do this weekend :)

LMAO Becky ~ Are we on the same cycle!?!? Hilarious!!!! We will be just fine. Chin up, smile, drink water.. make sure you do some core work and cardio on those days, it REALLY helps with my cramps! Oh yeah, and motrin... lol Everyone has bad days... what we do as soon as we realize we are messing up is what makes or breaks us... I have faith in you, dear one! XOXO

Brandi ~ Glad to hear your week is doing much better! Good for you for the portion control. I do the same thing. If I want something, I have it, but I dont have the bacon double cheeseburger and large fries and coke and dessert, etc.. I just have a small something or get one and split it with my son! Works wonders and I find that I cannot even eat NEARLY as much as I used to.. thank goodness! LOL Great job, hun!! Nice!

Michelle ~ Awww, its really great that you are trying, but don't lose your resolve/momentum. Just find something to do in the house for activity. You have to be safe and not push it too much in the heat. It's good that you will have that time with your hubby all the time :) YAY! Awwww, AWESOME!!! I am going on a cruise to Cozumel (and 3 other places) in October. My mom bought it for me, hubby, and son as our Christmas gift this year :D SO excited!! And I think they were right.. you deserve a break. You're going to have such a good time!!!

It was 109 degrees here in Pittsburgh today, so yeah... my workout was INSIDE. LOL! I did a Bob Harper Inside Out Method DVD.. and... I am in serious pain right now. LOL He murdered me, but in the best way possible!! Hope to find something to do tomorrow morning to keep me busy since my hubby has to work unexpectedly :( Maybe I can sweet talk my kiddo into getting up with me early and going for a walk around the neighborhood or playing some tennis!!

~ stay FOCUSED (nothing will taste as good as meeting your goals and being proud of yourself FEELS, I promise!)

~ no excuses! ("oh my husband was home", "I couldn't make time", "we were busy"... you are better than that.. MAKE time for YOU, FIND hidden moments for your journey, and just DO it.. you are worth it!! Care about YOU as much as everyone else... )

Hey Goddess!! I am definitely kicking butt for the last week of the challenge. I got in 100 minutes today of exercise. Super sweaty and feeling great!! Looking forward to our next challenge.

Nix, Uh.....I haven't done anymore squats since the ones I told you about. Guess I shouldn't have joined that challenge after all. I plan on doing some in July for my personal challenge. You are kicking butt with yours though. Geez louise!! Lol

Good morning!
The heat here has totally ruined DH and my walking and my resolve :(. I hope that we can get up early on Saturday and get in a walk before it heats up. I am finishing up the first accelerated mini course and moving on to the next one in July. The schedule for this one is even more whack (5:10-9:50), but it might work out better for me as I will have about 2 free hours before I head to class, so I can exercise and eat a good, early dinner. Due to the heat, my husband will be getting off work at 3 for the rest of the summer, so we can eat together before I head off.

Nix: We are headed on a cruise to the Bahamas. Two of my three remaining aunts told Andrew that I need a vacation as I have been through H-E-double hockey sticks this year with my mom dying and school. So, he actually listened to them. I think he's just scared of my family- they are pretty intimidating emoticon .

I am a horrible friend, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.....I ended up having to work late yesterday because the experiment I was doing took longer than I planned for, SO, I cancelled dinner with my friend so I could go home and do my workout! If I had gone to dinner, I would have gotten home around 9 or 930 and that's bed time, so I wouldn't have done it, so I decided that I would rather do my workout. I rescheduled dinner for today, but I will have to cut it short because I have something scheduled at 7, so I kinda feel bad for squeezing my friend in for only an hour and a half today, BUT, I got an awesome run in yesterday and that felt good =) Whatareyagonna do right? Those are the choices and I have a goal to try to get to, although, I went up a pound yesterday, so I'm not sure I'm going to be anywhere near that goal :( But that doesn't mean I'm not going to try!

I hope you are all working hard and getting it DONE! Less than a week left emoticon

Good evening ladies :)
Well i am having a much better week than I had weekend. I am working out consistently and watching what I am eating I have had no more then 4 oz. of soda each day hoping by next week to be off of it completely I am sleeping enough and drinking plenty of water. I am also learning to quit focusing on the NO in this new lifestyle...meaning that i try not to focus on what i can't have but rather what i can and if I find that I really want something then i just have a small portion like I wanted a cheeseburger yesterday so i ordered a kids cheeseburger for lunch satisfied a craving and kept me from going over my calories..
I have received my first battle wounds from my UFC training... A giant purple bruise right on the end of my nose...caught a mean right hook lol...

Vicki ~ Thanks! I know it probably sounds weird, but I really think losing a bit, then maintaining, then losing a bit more, then maintaining, then losing more is really the BEST way for someone with lots to lose (like me) to do it. Its just.. really good for my body (I feel). :)

Hi Ladies, I am having a good day are you? I enjoyed this challenge and I do feel good about myself alot more. I am working out so much more. I have changed my routine again and that is a good thing. I am doing the sweat thing every morning and on Sunday evenings at my church. Last Sunday was the first Zumba class and it was FANTASTIC!!!

I haven't posted much but I'm in for the next challenge! The Red Hot Heartbreakers -- I love it! I do pop in and read everyone's posts when I can, it helps to know we're all in this together!

I'm training and fundraising like crazy to do the Susan G. Komen 3-Day! It's just over 11 weeks away! OMG! I'm excited and scared to death! I only have $548.15 left to raise! WooHoo! I'm actually going to make it!

Training wise I'm behind where I wanted to be when I signed up for the 3-Day in February! Life happens and it seems as if it's been even more eventful since I decided to walk 20 miles in 3 days! lol The furthest I've walked at one time is five miles -- my goal for the walk is to do 10 miles a day 3 days in a row! I'd love to be able to do more than 10 and maybe that will happen! When I started I could barely walk a half mile. I'm 59, 300+ with 'faux' knees and the doctor says I need a new hip! Doesn't sound difficult at all when you see someone battling breast cancer!

I'm off for a walk -- I want to do at least 5 miles today . . . I'm not feeling very confident about that but I have to remember it's only one step, and then another one, then one more . . . .

Like I promised, I'm here to do a quick check in with today's weight to finish the challenge because I'll be gone to the beach in Jersey for the next two weeks. And, let me tell you I have been kicking some major butt in the past two days trying to lose the weight so I can make my goal and I DID IT! Here's what it's come down to:

Start weight (4/1) ~ 232.4
Earth (4/22) ~ GOAL: 227, DONE!!! (223.6)
TBIO (5/16) ~ GOAL: 221, DONE!!! (216)
Solstice (6/20) ~ GOAL: 210, DONE (209.4)
4th (7/4) ~ GOAL: 208, DONE (206.8)

I'm so happy about this! I really, really am. I know that if I would be able to weigh in on the 4th I would've lost a lot more but, I'm going to count my blessings and say that I've done really, really well this challenge. That's 25.6lbs GONE in this challenge and it's all been due to my effort. Yes! I feel really great and this "last weigh-in" for this challenge for me, even though it's earlier than the actual weigh-in has really SPARKED me to really try to keep it up for the next two weeks while I'm at the beach. And, hello... seeing all those hunks at the beach won't hurt my motivation ONE BIT. It'll help me to keep on going. So, yayyyy for vacationing at the beach.

See you guys when I get back. If I can, I'll try to check up on you sexy goddesses for the rest of the challenge from my cousin's computer and such. But, much success to you all and thank you all for the support. Yay! Rock it, goddesses!!!

Nix - Happy Spark Anniversary!!!!! And you are right, slow and steady is best!

I should be getting enough water - I drink about 15 or 16 glasses per day (I have a big 32oz water bottle that I carry around) but I'm not sure if I need to drink more because it's hot - I usually drink about 12, so taking it up to 15 or 16 should be good. I think it was just tom - as least I hope! Anyway, I'm doing pretty good today. Meeting a friend for dinner, but I scheduled it early so I could get home and get my workout in. I didn't do it this morning because I wasn't at home, but need to get it done! Have a great wednesday girls!!!

Nix, Thanks for the welcome back. This year we stayed closer to our home. I actually went back to my home town where I grew up at and stayed on the farm. We did swimming, walking on the farm and picked/cooked some good home grown veggies.

Been kicking BUTT lately! 350 squats yesterday, swam laps for 90 minutes tonight, tomorrow is more ST and squats and a few more things... tomorrow is a major workout day, so I think I might be sore, YAY! I am going to aim for a lot of stretching and self-love afterward :)

I went over on calories for 2 days this week, so I think I needed to step it up a little bit anyway. I am REALLY aiming to get to my next goal by next week. Today is my 2 year Spark-a-versary! I totally forgot until not long ago when I realized the date. LOL If I make it to my next goal before my bday, I will be at the halfway mark of my journey! It's taking me a while, but.. I think it's good to be slow and steady with it.. that way its for LIFE! YAY!! :)

I am working hard to get and stay back on track. Had a rough night last night, but didn't do bad and still in calories, so that's good! The scale went up today and it's because of TOM but I'm still not happy. I need it to move just a little in the downward direction!!!!

I love the name Red Hot Heartbreakers!! That is awesome and I'm totally down for the next challenge! Whatever dates are chosen I'll be happy with!!

We're insanely busy here right now, three trips up to Denver for dr. appointments for my kids this week plus the wonderful Waldo Canyon Fire is a little too close to home right now. The kids have to stay inside because the smoke is too bad right now. We're just bored and tired.

I'll admit I haven't been working out this week, I want to go walk but am not allowed (hubby said no because of the fire) and am kinda grateful before it really stinks outside lol! I do have exercise equipment here at home but I just have to find the desire to go use it again.

Since I haven't been exercising I've dropped my calories down to around 1200 a day (lowest end of my range here on SP). Hopefully that will continue to stimulate some weightloss even though I'm not out moving!!

Checking in with my weight a couple of days late because I wanted to make sure that I lost all the weight from mom's birthday weekend. Lol. And, I did AND I made goal. Whoo hoo. So, here we are:

And by then, the challenge will be so over. =( So, I'm thinking I will just either try my hardest to make goal by this Wednesday and try to check back in before I leave on Wednesday night or if not, just count all the weight I've lost so far and be done with it. I'll do that and if I can check back sometime on Wednesday, I'll do that.

But, for this challenge, up until Solstice... I lost a total of 23lbs. Way to go ME! Yes. I'll see how much I weigh on Wednesday morning before I head out to NJ but, for now... this is fantastic enough for me. I'm very proud that I've stuck through it even though at times it's hard and I'm going to keep it going until the 4th even though I won't be able to check in. I'll really try to check back in on Wednesday, though. So, here we go!

Hi Ladies. I'm sorry, but I've basically been MIA through this whole challenge...even with Nix stalking me. I guess I was just disappointed in my weight staying the same, yet again, and the reason being because I cannot control my eating...

Well I am finally down one pound. I'm nowhere near where I was hoping to be for this challenge, but here's to getting back on track.
