Well, I was so close but I blew it for 2012 by mindless eating thru the holidays and lack of exercise. I'm back on track now and hopefully will achieve my goal by March 1st. Did anyone start a 2013 version of this challenge? If I don't see one, I'll start it. Here's my results for 2012

I too would love to get into the overweight range, even if I don't reach a healthy BMI this year, but even that doesn't seem likely (would have to lose 79 pounds by the end of the year). So I'm shooting for obesity (less than 35 BMI) and hope to leave morbid obesity and severe obesity in the dust!

Another late joiner but I'm in. My goal is to be 200 lbs by Christmas 2012. That would put my BMI at 28.8 which is happily in the 'overweight' category.

This is an absolutely fantastic idea. I'm really excited because since I've already come from a 40.7 BMI to a 30.4 BMI. I am so close to being over instead of obese - yay! 4 more pounds. My personal trainer says I've probably already switched because of my muscle mass, but I want something to work for - lol. What works for me? I'm a book fanatic, I can devour a book in 3 - 4 days no problem. So I made a list of books I really like but haven't had a chance to buy yet, gave it to my husband, and he'll randomly buy one and hide it in the house. When I go down one number (31.0 to 30.0 for example) he'll give me the book he bought and goes to buy another one. It really pushes me to the next level knowing there's another book right around the corner, lol!

Just curious, What sorts of exercise plans and diet plans are people using to get healthy this year? I think it's always fun to share tips and compare notes.
I'm riding a bike (training for bike touring this summer) my diet right now basically consist of me carb loading, I'm trying to have 70% of my daily calories come from carbs. I'm cycling 150 miles/week so it's neccessary.

My goal this year is to go from my obese BMI (currently 34.5) down to a healthy BMI (under 25). I'm sure most of the people in the sparkteam don't have healthy BMI's yet either. SO I thought it would be a fun challenge to work toward healthiness this year. I'm gonna calculate my updated BMI at the begining of each month to mark my progress.
