use www.yarndex..com and put in the yarn and it will give you other options

also check on ravelry with the suggested yarn and it will give you other options

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much

what a great goal -- to work in the stash. I just get overwhelmed trying to match yarn to patterns. I really wish that there was some consistency. or even better, a list of yarns that are compatible with each other. eg heading: Aran; the underneath the names of yarns of that weight. the list could be added to by the manufacturers. Alas, that would be too helpful. I understand that they want you to buy their brand, but sometimes they don't have the color you need, or you need to use something that is more easily washed, or something that you can afford. (I love this one sweater, but it uses 20+ balls of yarn at $6 each. I can't afford $120+ dollars for a sweater, no matter how beautiful it is.) Rant over. just venting my frustration. Big (actually moderate) stash, big belly, big hassles with my disabled mom. grumble emoticon

Boy, Pam, glad you're running this show and not me!

Blessed be.

1. The it's all about me stash busting challenge which kicks off on January 1st.

2 The 2013 UFO Challenge which also starts on January 1st. So get out all, of most of your UFO's and get ready to list them (thread will come out in Dec) and each time you finish one, update your information and you will get a SP Goodie. And yes you can add more on that you start and need to put away for away

3 Quarterly challenges will be in January, April, July and October

4. Questions of the day will continue as well as the celebration lists, patterns and anything that comes up

So watch out for these and hopefully lots will get worked on and lots of stash used.
