I tried the class but it was not for beginners. the instructor had beautiful form, and just flowed gracefully. I tried, but getting up and down is a struggle, and the warrior poses did me in. I will try somemore, on my own where people aren't looking at me.

Hello- Im new to this team...my june goal is to start practice. I found a sun salutation from Dr. Oz, but was unable to make it through, to much weight on a bad wrist. I am going to try to make a beginner class at my gym and see how that goes.

i've skipped a couple days, but i've added in some morning practises on top of the evening ones--and i'm on track!

Some yoga is always better than no yoga.

I have gone to a class before when I have not been feeling well, and the postures that I could do, I tried, I attempted some, but for the majority of class I was in child's pose. It was a great experience. I was around beautiful, healing energy. It was also a great lesson in honouring the body and putting the ego to the side. I felt so much better even though I hadn't committed to an entire practice. Makes me really believe that it is not our practice that defines us, but our integrity to the practice.

I finally did Sun Salutations today, and then I did a few other postures. If I wouldn't have waited until 9:30pm, I would have done more than 20 min. But, 20 min is better than none!

I have been doing good so far on my sattvic diet. At least one meal consists of a huge salad, with all fresh veggies and flax seed oil. I try to eat only fresh fruits in the morning. It is hard not to be putting too much spice on my dinner meals. Even pepper I have to hold back on. However, I am really happy that I am so far able to get in so many more fresh fruits and veggies, and focus more on whole foods.

Missing coffee the most! emoticon

I haven't done one, but my yoga instructor does the master cleanse a few times a year. I think the trick is to stay with it.
The master cleanse is too severe for me, but a juice fast might not be too bad.
You are eating sattvic, right? How is that going? I've thought about it, but I find that I use more seasonings since I stopped eating meat 6 months ago.

I am in need to doing a detox. I think my June goal will be to do a five day juice cleanse. This is tricky because my birthday is coming up, so I know there will be cake. So I believe I should start my cleanse after I eat my cake.

To go into a cleanse of just juice, I do have to get my body ready about a week ahead of time, and eat raw foods and really limit my intake of flours and sugars.

Has anyone else ever done a cleanse? Any words of advice?

also: i remembered that a yoga book i have has a four five-day phase beginner program. some of the poses are beyond me now; so i'm gonna do the first three phases this month (and my regular routine on sundays) and see where i am by the end of june!! this changes my goal practise total for the month to 23.

My goal for June is to practice Sun Salutations (A&B) 6 days a week. I am interested to see how much longer I will practice once I finish Sun Salutations.

I better start practicing now!

I thought we could set an individual goal for the month and track it. I couldn't get the Team Goal forum to work (it could just be me though!). Any way , we could select a personal goal for the month and track it here.
