I take Etodoloc twice a day. I tried going off it and it didn't seem to make a difference with the ambient fibro pain but within a month I couldn't walk for the sciatica. Within 2 days of going back on it, the sciatica went back to normal levels (low but tolerable). No medication seems to help the ambient pain and flares just have to be tolerated.
The thing that helps the most is gentle stretching. I haven't been able to do any vigorous activity without flaring but GENTLE stretching makes a huge difference.

Hi there, I take Cymbalta and am a true believer. I take Lyrica also...the combo seems to the best Ive had. On bad days, I add Alleve and a muscle relaxer. Lets be real here, we need each other. I have a pain pill that I take as need be, but not every day. Take care my friend.
The most important thing I do is to move as much as possible. Which means parking as far away from the door everywhere I go, at least one 90 minute yoga class a week sometimes more and now I have added a 30 minute a week weight training. I am not so sure if that is helping as I am so sore almost up till the day it is time to go back again. I sit in the sauna at the gym and take epsom salt baths and once in awhile I will have a massage. I also take tramadol and vicoden as needed. Somedays it is such so hard but I am determined to keep moving for many more years.
I take Advil extra strength liquid gel cap migraine. Couple of those work to take the most of the brunt. Morphine, Percocet, aleve do nothing at all, wouldn't even help with a hang nail... I am looking into Symbalta and the other big ones. I have been on a wait List for a specialist for over 20 months. I exercise bike, do yoga, push ups and curl ups because of the largest focus of pain in my body in the core strengthing them and working on the worst joints seems to lower discomfort and increase my ability to cope. My main goal is to create A 30 minute all over work out, but as you all know sometimes that drive isn't there.
I'm curious to know what other people do for their pain...I take Lyrica (which does more for my mental and emotional wellbeing) and then either 6 aspirin or 6 ibuprofin in the morning, for the pain. Even then about half the time I can't function very well. In reading the article Spark had today I realized that maybe controlling my fibromyalgia will make me more active and not the other way around. If you're willing to share I'm willing to listen..........
Some mornings, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps.
