I created a category called "uncategorized hunger" for anything that isn't a meal or a planned snack-- and use the NOTES at the bottom of the tracker to note the time and circumstances (like, why am I up and eating at that hour?? LOL)... and it goes on the day it's on. If you were born at midnight, it goes on record as 12:00 AM, at the beginning of the day, not the end... so that's how I treat it.
Either way works, as long as you are CONSISTENT!
