Super busy week again this year. I have company coming next weekend and go to Dallas and back next week, the following week I go to New Orleans and back, then working and working and cleaning and all the things I need to do. One day I will take a vacation! lol

Oh that is wonderful your kids will be with you. This weekend will be busy again, we go to a friend's house on Saturday for a crawfish boil to celebrate all the mothers...sunday I want to get my car detailed. I have to pick up lunch for the office on a daily basis so there are food stains all over the inside of my car. I need to get it dealt with sooner rather than later and I just don't have time during the week. I also have a birthday/house warming party to go to so I'll be pretty busy.

I'm sticking with Week 2 of the Spring Shapeup challenge and will go to water aerobics in a little while. 11 more days of school for me....woo hoo! I'm writing my final newsletter for the last 2 important weeks. We close out report cards tomorrow and my grades are due next Friday. All 3 grown kids will be with me for Mother's Day. I'm looking forward to a wonderful weekend.

I hope everyone's doing well overall!

Just walk and think of how cute your toes will look when you are walking!

I just read this thread and I know it's almost summer, but...the excitement of summer coming (and school getting out) is motivating me to want to stay on track more with my exercise. As a teacher, I've been putting in 10+ hours a day and I am so tired when I get home. Last night I told myself, JUST WALK. That's all I need to do. Even if I am not breaking a sweat I'm moving. I read on some of the other message boards about a challenge to not do drive thru, which is my big vice in the mornings, even if it's just for coffee. So I am making myself make breakfast at home including coffee. I've done it for 2 days and still get to work at the same time. Plus I know I will save money. In a month I will have saved enough money to treat myself to a pedicure or something else fun!

Had a very healthy breakfast but not so healthy lunch and dinner. Tomorrow will be better. I need to plan ahead every day. Going to bed soon so I can get my sleep in. I expect to sleep quite well tonight's sweet dreams everyone!

Thanks for starting us off right for spring, Donna! I had a good breakfast, lunch and dinner today, all within my calorie range---who knew?? I went to water aerobics at the MAC for 90 minutes! I still need to finish my water but half is done. It's a good start for the new week. Spring Break was great....but tomorrow it's back to work, back to work!

Good morning Houston! Now that the weather is better (and before it is too hot) it's time to SPRING into action and get ready for the warm summer months coming up! For the first time ever, we are in 65th place in exercise minutes so let's get that back up to the top ten!

S - Strength training is important. At least three days each week spend 15 minutes toning your muscles. Use the Spark videos, if you don't have weights, use a water bottle! Building muscle helps to boost your metabolism and can actually help you burn calories even while watching tv!
P - Put your shoes on and walk--get at least 15 minutes of cardio in three days a week. Try to take10,000 steps each day. Park a little farther away from your destination, take the stairs instead of the elevator, walk for 10 minutes during your lunch hour, take your family outside and walk around the neighborhood.
R - Rest is important, get a minimum of 7 hours of sleep at least five nights each week.
I - Invest in yourself and take 10 minutes out of each day to relax, even if you have to get up 10 minutes before the family.
N - Nutrition is important, start each day with a healthy breakfast. This starts your metabolism each day and helps you avoid all-day snacking.
G - Get credit for what you have accomplished! Post your exercise minutes in your Fitness Tracker, post on the team thread what you have done or what you have planned to do.

We can work together to bring Houston back up to the top ten in exercise minutes AND we benefit ourselves in the process. Swimsuit season will be here before you know it, let's be sure we are ready. We can do this!
