I've found a lot of good tips online as for questions to ask. Such as if they have a family emergency or something on your wedding day do they have a back up person? Do they carry their own insurance (most professionals do) but I guess some venues ask for photographers and DJs to show proof of insurance. Let us know how it goes, because I have to call one soon and could also use some feedback.
