As my blood pressure has been under great control and I never add any salt to my food I don't bother tracking my sodium. It is SO important to keep our blood pressure under good control as high blood pressure puts added stress on all of our internal organs!

it is amazing the amount of sodium you see when tracking. One isn't aware of many foods (processed & unprocessed) contain sodium. Thanks for the challenge. I have been tracking and rarely add salt to my foods. I don't cook with it either as my DH salts at the table no matter if he is told the food is seasoned. Trying to get him to break that habit.

Happy Thursday to you!

How are you doing on Sodium?
Do you add salt to your food?
Do you eat a lot of salty foods?
Have you been keeping track of your sodium intake?

Your challenge today is:

*If you haven't already done so, add Sodium to your nutrient tracker.
Your daily Sodium intake just might surprise you.

*Read labels! Many foods such as: Processed meats, soups, "diet meals", and even pastries have hidden sodium. Opt for the "lower sodium" version of your favorite foods.

*Taste your food BEFORE adding salt.

*Realize that using fresh/dried spices, lemon juice, low sodium broth, etc. can help you to lower the sodium amounts in your food

*Try to keep your Sodium under your daily requirements

Have a FANTASTIC Thursday!
