WTG on your HIKE! Every day there are many opportunities to make the right choices! We've been visiting our son since yesterday...noticed he didn't have any coffee...great excuse to power-walk to the shopping mall a couple miles away...woo hoo! :-)
Planning a lean, but thoughtful, thankful Thanksgiving tomorrow...everyone do your best to keep Sparking on!
ps...also, please send me any ideas / inspirations you might have for upcoming December challenges / Team goals...!

Okay, after filling my month with sad faces and knowing that I am going to a three day spread of food, I am taking a shot at saying there is no reason to even try these last few days of the month. Since December starts on a Monday I will start anew then. I will be hiking Thanksgiving all day so at least I get soem exercise this month. So, here's to November ending and December beginning. The sad thing is it will be like starting all over which means taking it slow and easy.

Minutes to beat: 1,000 (try again!)---scratch that. I am off to way too slow of a start. I only have 110 minutes of slow exercise and it's the 10th already. I'll be lucky to pull of 500 at this rate.

thanks for all you do for us don..........
“There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.”
When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world

Before I say anything else: VOTE, be sure you and everyone you know VOTES! Lend a hand if someone has difficulty getting to a polling station!
I've been more aware lately that I haven't given enough thought and gratitude to myself for all the changes I've been able to make over the past couple of years with such wonderful support from the SparkPeople community. As the numbers slow down and I don't have the continuing loss of pounds and inches, it becomes easier to lose momentum without that ongoing reinforcement. I've become hooked on those numbers! So I'm trying to dig a little deeper this month to appreciate my accomplishments and to be grateful for them AND all your help out there in SP-land! :-)
Onward to November! Let's keep up our workout routines, cardio, strength building, and continue to work on our NO-CALORIC SNACKING after our last meal of the day (aiming for success in this area for SIX out of SEVEN nights). Keep track of this via our Team Goal, which you will find about three quarters of the way down our Team's page and can track in our "Other Goals:"
For those who wish to post their daily cardio and strength-training efforts here at this thread copy and paste the dates below into your message on this thread and simply return each day to "EDIT" this post with your daily efforts. This thread is here for those who wish to use a visual means of seeing your results. If you want to just enter your efforts on the "Fitness Tracker" that would be fine as your fitness minutes will automatically be calculated toward our Team's total effort.
1) Keep up the cardio minutes! Let's work toward these prizes:
BRONZE Medal: 400 minutes monthly total (averaging about 13 minutes daily)
SILVER Medal: 700 minutes monthly total (averaging about 23 minutes daily)
GOLD Medal: 900 minutes monthly total (averaging about 29 minutes daily)
The Thoughtful, Thankful November Award!: 1300 minutes monthly total (averaging about 42 minutes daily)
2) This month we are ALSO going to track and post our STRENGTH SESSIONS and work toward keeping up with regular sessions throughout the month. Anything goes when it comes to a strength session: weight training machines, free weights, resistance bands or tubes, jugs of water, cans of food, cathesthenics, splitting wood with a sledge hammer...whatever works for you!
We'll work toward the following STRENGTH SESSION prizes:
BRONZE Medal: 6-7 STRENGTH SESSIONS total for the month
SILVER Medal: 8-9 STRENGTH SESSIONS total for the month
GOLD Medal: 10 to 12 STRENGTH SESSIONS total for the month
The Thoughtful, Thankful November Award!: 13 total STRENGTH SESSIONS for the month!
If you care to share optional additional information such as distance or what cardio activity you completed, feel free to add that also (see my example, which I'll post below), but for tracking purposes we are looking at those great equalizers: CARDIO MINUTES and STRENGTH SESSIONS. To post your STRENGTH SESSIONS, on any given day that you have had a STRENGTH SESSION place a (SS#) on that particular date.
Here is an example of what one day in which I've done both cardio and strength training would look like:
11/01 - 35 mins. treadmill / 2.5 miles (SS#1)
So without further ado, here are the dates for you to copy and paste into your challenge post. Remember: you only need to copy and paste ONCE, and then return to your SINGLE POST and click "EDIT" to enter your daily results.
