Expected bad news from a stress filled back week of sliding back into old patterns my worst is eating in the evening...WAKE UP call --- Here's proof of how dangerous that is! Another stress filled family weekend here! Up 3 lbs...back to having lost a total of 12 -- I'm going to make it through today - another high stress day (family-filled with lemon cookies, chocolate chip cookies, cake with maple frosting, chocolate ice cream cake and lasagne and not a fat free anything in sight...and tomorrow I'm on my own and renewing my commitment!

Way to go!! Sorry about your jaw emoticon You know all this talk about mowing and getting the pool ready has got me worried. I have hit a big plateau for the last couple months. I just am getting nervous about the nice weather. BBQ's,beer and on the go snacks. We are very outdoorsy people. My husband plays softball so we are out of town alot.SNACKING!!! Im afraid Im gonna get back into my old habits.(I lost 17 pounds on WW before starting SP)Any suggestions for quick on the go snacks that will fill me up? Other than nuts and carrots? Help

Today was weigh in day for me. I have been busy all week walking, trimming bushes in the yard, mowing lawns, draining and refilling the pool getting it ready for summer, riding my stationary bike, and strength training exercises. I am sore all over including my lower jaw where the long handled loppers bounced back and clobbered me in the face. Thought I broke my jaw for a bit- only bruised my face a nasty one though. Looks like someone sucker punched me. If I could only come up with a good story as to how it happened. Anyway, long story short- lost 2.2 pounds for total of 47.4 pounds.

On Monday I was 170 which was up 4.5 lbs from the week before. I'm really bucling down and putting my nose to the grindstone this week.

HEY! When your weight tracker changes....it changes in old posts too...has anyone noticed that? It did for me...I just spent a very BAD time with myself until I verified it by changing the background etc...going for a walk and coming back and checking my charts...I LOST WEIGHT! I DID in spite of EVERYTHING! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO emoticon

ONE FIFTY TWO! WHOOO HOOOOO! After a stress laden week with some BIG differences since I joined SPARK! Some lessons learned, some slip ups forgiven a BIG change for the shame and guilt that always led to BINGE eating...and more shame and guilt...and....yeah.
I'm also a sugar addict...I really cut way back on that stuff - try to eat only NATURAL when I do (I find it's less toxic for me) as I find it doesn't trigger my addiction quite so much. AND the BEST part? Everything else is so much sweeter! Strawberries, blueberries, apples, organges, you name it....and I'm a happier gal because I'm in control of me...not feeling like on the sugar roller coaster......... Thank goodness for the GAZELLE and the GYM!!!!! emoticon

My goal for April was to lose 15 pounds by the end of April. Today was my weigh in day at Weight Watchers (every Saturday) and I lost 4.8 pounds !!! That means I only have 10.4 pounds more this month to go to reach my short term goal. Woohoo !!!

I weigh in once a month on my anniversary date. My goals center around intentional eating and physical activity, and I find if I weigh in too frequently I'm distracted from the reasons I joined SparkPeople in the first place - to lose weight (because I really need to), yes, but that's the side effect of my change rather than the main prize.

Of course, I may find I need to weigh in more often later, but for now I can concentrate on how I'm feeling/how my clothes are fitting rather than daily/weekly fluctuations on the scale - which led to disordered eating in the past. I know everyone is different in their weigh-in needs - and this is what seems to work for me.

I only record the weight for the week that went down, just can't face those temporary gains, so i never record until the needle points west, crazy huh, at least this way the week looks more positive and i don't have to look at that bounce up every now and then, so my weight for the week is only recorded when i realize a loss from the last weight.........sometimes it is more than a week, but i works for me. emoticon emoticon

DON FOR A LONG TIME I WAS SO AFRAID OF WHAT PPL THOUGHT ME THAT IS WHY I DIDNT GO TO A GYM OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT; NOW I HAVE A WONDERFUL GYM.. BUT YOU KNOW AT TIMES I DONT HAVE THE GROOVE AND I GET FRUSTRATED; COUNTING CALORIES,SODUIM, ETC......ITS FRUSTRATING.. IM DOING THIS PROGRAM AND THE BLC AND I AM INSPIRED BY BOTH.....AT TIMES I NEED THAT PUSH FOR A SOLID WEEK I CRYED AND STUFF CAUSE THE SCALED HADNT MOVED FOR 4 WEEKS BUT I WASNT THINKING OF WHERE I WAS LOSING..IT IS FRUSTRAING; UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN THRU THIS THEN MOST FOLKS JUST GWAKE AND SAY BAD THINGS.....I USED TO WEIGH 450 AND THEN GOT DOWN TO 282 AND NOW IM AT 254 AND IT HAS NOT BEEN EASY ESPECIALLY BEING DISABLED WITH RA AND OSTEO AND A BAD BACK BUT I ALWAYS KEEP GOING.. EVEN WHEN I HURT I AM CONSTANTLY MOVING AND MY MEDS DONT HELP EITHER SO IT GETS FRUSTED AT TIMES.

Bev it sounds like you're finding your groove! What you're doing is working and paying off! I still marvel over the sense of empowerment and confidence I feel now that I know what I need to do to feel good about myself and have my body responding to my efforts. It's like a huge WEIGHT has been lifted in many more ways than one!

There may come times when you may need to "tweak" your formula, so to speak, but having seen how well your health responds to your efforts, you now have that foundation of success to build upon.

Thank you Don. Sometimes, even maintaining is an event to be congratulated. Especially because on Wed. the scale said I had gained 5, and somehow, I do not know how, it was all gone by Sunday. I am very sensitive to sugar and when I stray it really shows up..

Maintaining. Considering all that this week was.. A MESS... WITH STRESS. The worst in a while. Now it is over and even though I went up three pounds, they came off. So I am back down to 140. 139.6 Sounded so good. But I can do that. The more healthy food and water I put into my body. Ut oh...put that pizza down... the more healthy food and water I put into my body..the more my body will appreciate the effort and "click" the on switch for losing the fat.

Today's my weigh in...INCREDIBLE! Two count em TWO family functions involving FOOD - which I almost did moderation - way better for me...and I LOST 3 count em 3 pounds!!! Whoooo hoooo! I cooled it the next days - and ramped up on the exercise...another day in my neighborhood today...sliding party with daughter and grandkids, sugar on snow, and beef stew with corn bread for dinner...and I'm gonna enjoy it all - because it's part of my world, I'm gonna shoot for moderation...AND I'm gonna kick butt out on the hill! I'm not your average granny! And I'm not gonna SHAME or HUMILIATE myself...I'm gonna be okay with "some". Good luck everybody, cause TODAY I'm doing IT and coming out okay with myself. emoticon

Today was weigh in...not having exercised for four days took its toll...lost only 1.4 pounds this week but it took me over the 40 pound mark which is good. Not feeling physically good... came home off the mountain with a head/chest cold so am laying low and babying myself today with extra sleep and hot tea. Hopefully by this evening I will fell the umph to tackle the bike for a bit of exercise to get the blood moving some.

Cami.. Yes. That is what I am thinking of doing. Because I night I do snack on fruit, but I seem not to get enough veggies, even when I eat a salad. I guess more variety would be nice. I love cucumbers.

Can you take a picnic cooler or small cooler like they make to take a six pack of soda to the beach and keep your veggies in that on the floor in the kitchen or the work room or broom closet..somewhere out of the way so no one can trip over it? Cold veggies put in it just before going to work would stay cold a long time even without putting an ice pack in there. Or put an ice pack covered with a cloth so as not to freeze the veggies.

Don, I tried to put my food in the frig at work at the restaurant and I got a lecture. So, I am trying other methods of keeping food cool. Veggies like carrots and celery are a good idea. That will be tomorrow.

WTG AthenaJane! What a super job on your weight loss! You are so right to NOT listen to those who say you're nuts! Let them worry about themselves...lol.

My job can be hectic at times too. I make sure to keep a healthy stash of food which I graze as I can...mostly veggies, some cheese and peanuts...and lots & lots of water!

Thank you. I need to cut out the coffee and drink more water, and plan my meals better, there is no break at work it seems, I grab and eat and that is sometimes not good. Today is 139.4. I thought I would never see that number. I started at 200 in Feb. of 2007. I want to see 115...So many people say I am nuts, and I am not listening to them.

This is a different type of challenge: there is no time limit, but an ongoing place where we can post our weekly (or whatever frequency we choose) weigh-in results.
