I do not use salt. The only salt is what is in the food. No I do not do strength training also. I have different exercises that I rotate with so I am not doing the same ones all the time.
I am going to try to get in touch with my DR to see if maybe my thyroid is doing it. Thank you for asking.

any idea why? More salty foods lately? Or do you do strength training and maybe are gaining some muscle weight? New exercises that can cause temporary fluid retention in not-normally-used muscles?

I'm not planning to weight for a few days - once a month, I bloat, and I can tell that started yesterday. I usually drink a lot of water, and so I go to the bathroom every few hours. Yesterday, despite drinking even more than usual, I only went 1-2 times. Sooo, it's that time of the month, and I don't want to see my water weight ;-)

I'm going to focus instead on the fact that I'm still giving my body healthy foods, and still moving as able. My pants do feel a little loser around my thighs (but not the bloated belly!) :)

I'll check in with weight sometime in the next few days if things feel back to 'normal' or might just wait till next week.

I have really been focusing on food -- I usually like to stay active, so it's not too much of a problem for me to go for long walks, lift weights, paddleboard... but eating has always been the struggle for me. Now that my husband is on the bandwagon for eating healthy, I feel like things are going well :) I also start my mornings with positive affirmations, gratitude journal, and breath therapy. And I find that I have less back pain, more energy, and weight is coming off!

Thanks, OUTDOORGIRL :) Weight is coming back off - I am learning to tell when my body is retaining water so I know to either skip the scale, or be aware that it will be higher. Lots of junk food over the weekend - 2 good friends just moved, so we had a lot of going away parties and activities with them. Even still, down some -- just shows how much water I had last time ;-)

Sorry to hear about your thyroid issues :( Those can be so rough! It's great that you keep working on healthy habits, though, regardless of all the ups and downs of thyroid!

Hubby is finally saying he is on board with being a better coach/cheerleader for me. Working out and eating well has often felt lonely to me. I haven't had workout buddies, and my other friends don't seem to struggle with weight as much, or just aren't interested. So I am hopeful that he will commit. He isn't ready for exercise, but wants to eat better. But I got him outside cheering me on as I walk/jogged some laps up and down our little side street :) It made such a difference to my mood -- I gotta learn to be a better cheerleader for myself, but for now, having him there helps!

Do not worrie, the weight will come off in time. This last week being O have to weigh every day I was as high as 175. I am only 4'9" tall But I also have thyroid problems so I never know where my weight will be.

We must be in bloat-season! Been eating well (ok, treat last night - but not a 3 pound treat!) and working out at least 45 minutes per day, moderate to high intensity. And gained... I know that sometimes happens when I do more strength work - the muscles tear, fluids flow in to heal... because NON SCALE VICTORY! I'm down a belt notch :) So that's something!

Managed to get through the week meeting ALMOST all of my nutrition goals :) Had a dinner out with friends, and splurged on some dessert and the dinner itself. But otherwise, stuck to all of my goals and felt good! Also did 3 workouts during the week, as well a few walks. It feels great to be getting back into a routine!

Even though you gained Good job on staying healthy eating. I put on 1.8 pounds. I just wish my thyroid would straighten out again.

Well, after 5 weeks of vacation that included more salty and starchy foods than I'm used to, I only went up 3.3 lbs -- I imagine that will pee out pretty easily in the first week or so as I get back to my healthier habits :) So, all in all, I'm okay with that! I did a much better job enjoying vacation foods in moderation than I expected!

Forgot to measure this morning, but want to put old stats up just to keep it in the thread. I know I'm retaining water right now, so don't really want to weight myself since I know it'll be higher, but not because of fat weight. Maybe after girl-time is over...
