I had that same problem with my hair a while back. I found a good beautician and I started going every two weeks. As time progressed, I noticed that my hair was getting back "in shape." So, I would recommend that instead of you trying to get your hair back on track, to find you a good beautician and start going to them. It helps.

Hi Ladies

Does anyone here know how to care for braids or twists? I've never done a good job of caring for my hair. After years of perms and geri curls, it's lifeless, dull, dry, brittle... It's just all messed up. I've also suffered a great deal of thinning and loss on top and temples. Now I wear 2-strand twists but as far as care is concerned all I do is wash it weekly with Creme of Nature conditioning shampoo, and that's it.

Can someone recommend a regiment and/or products that I should be using to give my hair a healthy boost.

Thanks bunches.
Chelle

Thanks for the info, I'll have to ask my friend who is a beautician to get the products for me.

Yeah, the Mazani products has to be bought by a licensed person. They don't even sell the products in the Beauty Supply Stores. I love that product. My beautician uses all of it on my hair, the perm, shampoo, conditioner, setting lotion. I am glad. I am very happy with the product.

Has anyone experienced thinning around the bangs and temples. Since I had my son three years ago it seems as if my hair line is receding. I don't know if it is the perms or what. Can anyone offer advice?

Hi,

Have you checked with you doctor to see if you have psoriasis. It ofter starts in the scalp. My doctor gave me medication for that. My hair while still fine is alot thinker (meaning more of it) Because it's curly and fine it was fly away hair. Once the psoriasis cleared up my hair was much better.

I'v heard a lot about Mazani products; my hairstylist used it (relaxer) on my hair once and it was the most beautiful thing, but I always thought that they had to be bought by someone with a license. Is that true?

My hair is nearly to my shoulders and is very soft but thick. I have a problem with my hair and scalp drying out. I use moisturizing shampoo and conditioner on my hair. (Kera Care) It doesn't seem to help much. Any help will be appreciated.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

I would be happy to join. My hair is quite curly. In the summer when it is really curly it looks good but in the winter it's really loose curls and although it is not looks damagaged. I have my hair cut at an upscale salon. They did straiten it once but DH hated it. I use Aveda hair products. I've got about 8 different kinds, however if someone out there has any produts they like I'd be happy to try them. My hair is not really tight curls but tight enough;especilly in the summerIt's medium brown with golden streaks witch end up very light in the summer and if there are parts that don't curl right it looks funny. That won't happen until fall however.

I'm natural and my hair gets really frizzy too. To help control that, I use aveda's anti-humectant to hold my hair in place or I'll use pure aloe vera gel. I also find that doing a very cool rinse in the shower helps to control the frizzies and my hair settles down.

I forgot to post a link to the team:

Thanks for starting this.
I have long hair and it's so hard to manage. I do go to the beautician faithfully every two weeks, but what do I do when I just don't feel like it or if something comes up and I just can't go? Normally, I just wear a ponytail.
Products that I use.
Mazani Perm (relaxer)
Mazani Shampoo and Conditioner (when I go to the beautician)
Pantene Shampoo and Conditioner (when I am at home)
I do use Oil Sheen on my hair.
If the weather LOOKS like it's going to be bad, then my hair will frizz up....I HATE THAT!!!
What products do you use or suggests for people with long, frizzy hair?
My hair is healthy, but it just can't take bad weather.

Hi Queens!

I'm just writing to say that I started a BBQ spinoff team called BBQ: All About The Hair. I asked POCOHANTAZ if I would be able to and she said I could. (Thanks so much!) Basically it's for women who are relaxed, natural, texturized, curly-haired etc...and want to ask questions about issues with their hair or if they want to give product reviews etc...

I'm semi-obsessed with my hair and I'm a self-professed product junkie so I thought if I started a team I can indulge a little bit, lol. Everyone feel free to join!
