Hi AEJ!

I have been diagnosed with sickle cell SC, and sometimes I am so fatigued that working out is difficult or impossible. Also, sometimes I get dizzy spells or tunnel vision while at the gym, but that is very unusual.

When your body tells you that you need to rest for a day or so, you should definitely listen.

I have Fybromyiglia. It is very painful and was diagnosed last year. I have had it for years. A friend was speaking to my husband and mention the Goji berry. My husband purchased a whole case because I have been in a bad way for a long time. It worked very quickly and I take it everyday. I take 2 oz in the morning and 2 at night. I am not without pain a daily bases, but i have better weeks than before and still suffer from my pain around TTOM. I love the product and it gives my more energy. Check out this site and give it a try. My hubby and kids take it for their allergies.

I had to leave them alone all together, mine is so bad that I choke on stomach acid in the middle of my sleep. I would have sit up in bed to sleep, because every time I laid down I could feel the food and acid starting to come back up. Although I do have an occasional drink and a beer. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I didn't eliminate the trigger foods, but I did cut down significantly.

No more greasy food, alcohol in moderation, no caffeine, etc

I have gerd also, and I have been on several meds for it, the most current being the little purple pill. But you are right Nille, even though I know for a fact that mine IS acid reflux, since I have been with SP, and changed my eating habits, I have not had one single episode. I stopped taking my meds just to see, nothing. I think that all the foods that triggered the acid flow has been eliminated from my diet.

I have GERD, but it hasn't bothered me at ALL since I changed my eating habits and I've never been on medication for it, so I'm thinking it was just my eating habits and not really GERD

I am a diabetic, and I also have been suffering from arthritis since childhood. I have a cousin suffering from lupus. When I first joined the health club with my 16 year old son Blake, I was so excited. I couldn't wait to try out all of the shiny new machines, problem was I couldn't even lift my leg high enough to try the exercise bike, so that meant the spinning classes were out. Since I couldn't get over that hurdle I decide to try the elipticals and the treadmill. Problem was I was living such a sedimentary lifestyle that I was as out of shape as you could posibly be, so I didn't have the stamina for those. So finally I went to the pool to swim a few laps since that was all I seemed to be able to do there. It was a chore hauling my weight, especially wet, back up that ladder. I haven't been back since. But I vowed that I would work on strengthning my self and I am going to conquer those machines. So I have been walking everyday, or most days anyway, and I have the Tony Little Gazelle, so I do one or the other everyday, and I sometimes do them both in one day. I can feel myself getting stronger each day. My knees hurt most of the time, so I can't do some of the strengthning exercises, like squats so I improvise. Hhhhmmmm, imagine that, you have to exercise first to get ready for the gym. emoticon emoticon

AEJ - My best friend has Lupus. I knew her long before she had it, and we are still best friends today. I've been to the hospital with her every time. She is on dialysis 3x/week now and doing well (much better actually). She still goes up and down, but moe ups now. She does exercise when she can. If she can't she waits until she can. It is such a debilitating thing.

Happy Thursday BBQ's:

I was wondering if there was anyone who may be ailing with a chronic illness that may be posing a challenge for her to exercise effectively.

I was diagnosed almost a year ago and it can be frustrating at times. After two weeks of steady gym time and excitement, I couldn't go today.

Help!!!!!!!! Share some wisdom if you have had the experience.
