If you go by the way side on an eating bing, just get up and start again. I always say I will be on a diet for the rest of my life because I love food. But since Spark People I can eat the right foods and not get out of control. Keep up the good work no matter what people say about you. Love yourself. Do it for yourself and no one else. This keep me going.

I love this thread. I really love that quote about what you eat in private you wear in public. That is sooooooooo true!!!! I also love the goal about not drinking any soda. I forgot who wrote that but I'm wondering what is she doing to help her not drink the sodas. I have a sweet tooth and if I don't eat something sweet, I find myself getting a mountain dew just for that sweet taste.

I just join today and already I'm inspired. Loves it!

ok - i take "one a day - for 50 plus" and the more i take the vitamin - i become queasy and i want to eat more. i need to take the vitamin because i don't drink, or eat yogurt or anything similar to the dairy products. at the moment i am not sure if i have an issue with my bones. so i am asking what do i need to do, any suggestions.

Just because you ate ONE thing that was not a part of your diet plan does not mean you get a free pass to over indulge for the rest of the day. I just read something that I think will help you stay on track for this journey...she stated that if you get a speeding ticket do you go and break the law all day??? Which makes perfect sense...YOU learn from the mistake and move on. Trust me One cookie doesnt have as many calories as FIVE. Are you making the connection!!!

Happy Hump-Day Sexy Diva's!!!

I hope that everyone's week is going great!!! I was thinking about this weight loss journey & I was trying on clothes last & thinking that "Goodness if only I could lose 5 pounds I could button up these pants." It made me realize that me not being able to button my pants is MORE Motivation To Lose this Weight! Then I thought about what I heard someone say about someone else who was a smaller woman "She doesn't need to lose any weight she's already small, what she has 5-10 pounds to lose-that's nothing."

I thought to myself, we never know what brings people to where they are at in their journey, that woman could’ve been 250 pounds before or 170 pounds but it’s not up to us to judge when a person should STOP THEIR JOURNEY. I also thought to myself, what if I had said "Let me lose these 5 pounds" when I saw my scale go from my goal weight of 165 up to 170 pounds. However, I didn't because I thought it was no big deal, it’s only up 5 pounds. Now I know that once I get to my goal weight this time, I can no longer think I am immune from weight gain & go back to my old eating habits.

I now know that losing 5 pounds is just as hard as losing 50 pounds. I have to remain disciplined on this journey but not be super hard on myself either b/c I am only human. I know I will reach my goal weight before 2010 is over!

Happy Tuesday Vivacious Diva’s!!!

Today is filled with new opportunities & I am going to make the most of today! I woke up this morning & worked out on my abs for just 10 minutes. It may not have been a lot but it was a start & I could’ve just laid in the bed for 10 extra minutes, so tomorrow I will aim for 20 minutes of high intensity Abs or Cardio.

The fact is I am making better choices daily despite wanting to give up or complain about my recent weight gain, shows that I am making tremendous progress mentally & physically. I may have had a slight set back but I know there will be Greater Consequences to me deciding living a Poor, Unhealthy Life & I never want to face those consequences. So I instead I am making Small Changes Daily!!

Today someone brought in donuts emoticon (one of my favorites) but I was NOT tempted to eat one of them (even though I know they are delicious…LOL)! I made it through yesterday without all the things I said I wasn’t going to have- No Cookies, Chips, Cake, Cereal, & Candy (I just noticed all of the things I love start With a “C”) emoticon I am proud of myself for saying NO & sticking to my goals!

I read three great quotes that I wanted to share with you...first ..."Happiness is having a large, loving, caring, close-knit family in another city." I think it is so important to network and communicaate and allow the person to know that you are on their mind. Life is too short and tomorrow is promised to no one. Second..."Friends are those rare people who ask how we are and then wait to hear the answer." I like to know what is going on with the people I care about and if they are going through anything and if there is anything I can do to help..Everyone wants and needs to be loved..and treated like they matter. And finally "Good friends ARE good for your health!!!" Now this one hits home...because we are taking this journey together..it makes it all the more special for me. It is nice to have someone to talk to ...who may be feeling the same way that I do...just a chance to vent.

EVERYONE...has been so supportive of me during this journey..I appreciate you all.. It makes it so much easier for me to do the right thing and to continue. Sometimes it feels like if we could just stretch 2 more hours into it..everything would work out. Remember to find time for you..you can still get in small mini workouts...take the steps at work..practice your runway walk during comericials of your favorite show...do a few flights of stairs at home during a commercial..any and all movement helps to win the battle..We can and will do this together...need to vent email me..I am your girl..i got your back!!!

Well I got through my Cardio...with God on my side..it is so true if HE can take you to it...HE can get you through it!!! I was so not feeling that work out this morning..it was 4:30 in the morning my sons were snoring..LOL I was so wanting to get back in that bed. But I didnt..I stayed up did my 30 minutes of Cardio..thanked God for loving me and giving me strength..and I thank him for the words that He gives me to inspire you..I thank Him for the friendships that I have developed with you!!! I thank him for YOU!!!

If only you could take a glimpse into my mind for a second..you would see the love & respect that I have for you ..for making this commitment to better yourself...for putting aside all self doubt and sharing your personal stories with Me!!! It is such a struggle sometimes to constantly be watching what you eat and make the right choices..BUT..when you have a good circle of friends..the load seems a lot lighter...mind you..I LOVE my spark points..but the real reward is logging on..and seeing my new found friends, getting tips and advice...finding out about your day...and family...I appreciate you..and wanted you to know that...

"Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.." Okay what does that mean to you...well for me...it means....I don't care if you were the fat kid in high school, or the black sheep of the family, or the lazy teenager who hated exercise.

Forget it....let it all go! We have too RELEASE THE PAST!!!!! Those old habits are not serving you in the present (are they??), and they certainly aren't going to help you achieve your goals for the future.

If you let go of old negative images of yourself, you can maintain an open mind and be open to all possibilities.

It is SOOOOO important that you let go of the past in order to re-create yourself in the present. Just like you have the ability to make yourself sick...YOU have the ability to make yourself fail or succeed!!!! YOU CAN DO THIS....when you get up in the morning are you thinking ..how tired you are feeling...or how good it is going to feel when you get done the workout...when doing your strength training focus on how good you are going to look rather than if you can make it through 10 more reps!!!! Mind over matter baby!!!! WE CAN DO THIS....and WILL!!!

Alright I am loving this one...Do you have what it takes to get back on track if you slip off...can you get back on the wagon and shake off any slip up's???? It happens ...your human... you miss a few workouts in a row due a late night at the office and suddenly your weight-loss efforts seemed derailed. It's tempting to mentally beat yourself up..... isn't it? Girlfriend....you just have to chill out...It isnt that bad..... Being hard on yourself is the old you, remember? We have a new lifestyle now....we have totally changed our way of thinking...RIGHT!!!!
Now, you know to take setbacks in stride and get right back on that wagon. You wouldn't think of wasting even a minute to beat up on yourself. After all, there are no mistakes, just learning experiences. Weight loss is a process and every process takes time. You will encounter small failures ....everybody does That is what makes us human! But also remember you learn from those mistakes too!!!! Remember, every pound you gain can be lost. WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!
If you miss a workout, it's not the end of the world! Get to the gym the next day and continue to focus on your short-term goals. Just because you made bad choices today doesn't mean you can't start over for the remainder of the day!!!! Are you with me?????

Remember..Drink Your water....EXCERCISE....LOVE YOURSELVES and your families..

" This is pretty deep..I dont want more for myself than i would want for anyone else...I try to make it a practice that if I get somewhere (anywhere) I always reach back to bring someone along with me...It can be lonely at the top..there is plenty of room at the top of my throne...Smiles...That is why i send a daily message to my frinds...cause we are a team..when one succeed's we all do...we have to continue to be there and support one another...you know if you need me i am here..sometimes even when you don't...LOL... I always say that if i had someone to be there for me like this site has been when i had started other diets..i might have made it through...sometimes you just need that one word of encouragement o help you get through the day...I hope that I have given that to you...as you have given that to me...God is good...He has pulled us together..and it feels amazing...When it comes to out doing myself I know i am my own worst enemy...LOL..Oh..and for the record if anyone wanted the job..the position is not vacant...LOL!!! I like to challenge myself to do a little more each day..2 mins..some..five minutes others..but the best inspiration is knowing that i can do it... So Keep up the good work ladies...i am so proud of you and even prouder to have you in my circle of friends!!!

Today is my second day in the Two-sixty club. Once I get to the lower end of the 60's I will have reached my 10% goal of weightloss since December 2009. I am so excited that I cannot wait to hit the pavement and gym so that I can continue my journey. There is no going back this time and I am so grateful to my BBQ's & SP Friends. emoticon emoticon

Having those things that we enjoy eating that will not help us lose the weight.

It can be hard, but I truly believe it can be only if we let it. There are some things we need to give up (otherwise we wouldn't be where we are). Willpower is a tough thing to hold onto. But if we cut out the excuses and stay FOCUSED on our goals, we can hold onto that will. Set your mind daily to accomplish your task. Take it one day at a time. And take it from me, YOU CAN DO IT. Don't focus on how much you have to lose in all or how many hours of working out it will take to accomplish this. JUST FOCUS ON THIS DAY. I found that if I set mini goals it isn't so overwhelming. You will get there but there are some things you may only have once a week instead of everyday and later once a month and not every week. But you can still have it. And soon you may not want it. Believe me I have COKE A COLA clothing cups etc, I loved Coke just this much, but guess what I can pass it by today without a second thought. (other things are on their way out) Bless your name LORD
I don't want to diet I want to change the way I think about food, cook food and eat food. Only then will I lose this weight and KEEP IT OFF. And Oh yea exercise plays a major part in this goal.

This seems to be one of my biggest issues with sticking to a diet or eating plan is wondering if I will be able to have some of the things I enjoy eating. I don't eat a lot but I am still a bigger lady and a lot of times I think it is because I do not eat enough so my body thinks I am starving myself and holds on to every little bit of fat it can. But that is what makes me want to quit a lot of times is just feeling like I am not in control of what I can and cannot eat. I guess you could say I want to control everything about me and my body so I do not always make the right choices but I am working on getting in three healthy meals a day and two healthy snacks. I am not doing so well right now but I am really working on it. I totally failed yesterday but today is a new day and I am new to this so I know that the battle has just begun I just need to choose my weapons. Thanks for the motivation and the inspiration!

Thanks you are right if we do not change our attitude and outlook on life this is not going to work. I have spoken it into existence and it is happening for me. I am enjoying this month challenge living life like it is golden.
