I wish I could walk with you, my two fairly small dogs (one is about 14 lbs, the other about 20) and I love to walk, and they are part of the 13.1 mile Sparkathon preparation walks on Saturdays (we've been walking 6 miles all summer, about to start stepping it up, but it's not bad at all when you're with friends. We start at Lady Bird Johnson Park (Nacogdoches and Wurzbach Parkway) and tap into the Salado Creek Trail. It's nice and shady, especially in the morning, and there are lots of dogs. One time we walked in your vicinity, think it was close to Oxbow Park--does that sound familiar? It was a nice paved trail, not super wide, but might be just the ticket. Let us know what you decide to do!
My friend takes her dog to Hardberger Park over on NW Military. They're open from 7:30 until Sunset.

I'd walk with you but I am sooo not a morning exerciser, lol. I usually walk in the evenings at Woodlawn Lake, though not lately cuz it's still too hot. Lots of people take their dogs there but no park, just leash walking.

Don't know too many dog park areas in the nw area, but McAllister Park off of Bitters and Jones Maltsberger has an excellent dog park. I know we have several members who have used it. Maybe one of them will reply! Good luck!

I need to start taking walks with my little dog. I will need to walk in the morning as I don't want to get too hot and I work until 9:30 (parks are closed when I get off work). I'm not sure which one I will be walking, but I live in the Northwest/North central area. I also work out at Gold's Gym in the mornings, so I have to figure all of this into the schedule. Is there anyone that would like to walk with me?
