Aaron and I are hosting a birthday party for my twin sisters (they turn 18 tomorrow! Yikes!!!) but maybe we can get everyone here to dance to at least one song :P

Hey guys! After receiving a couple of different emails expressing concern about what we have planned for our next Spark Rally, we've decided to make some changes! We WILL NOT be performing the Zumba or Hip Hop routines as we originally planned, nor will we be recording anything to submit to SYTYCD! We will still be meeting at the same place and during the same time to get together and dance, but it won't be anything choreographed!

If your fear of learning either of the dances or being recorded kept you from signing up, then set those fears aside and RSVP to the July 28th Spark Rally! It's going to be tons of fun. Come on out and do the mashed potato, the worm, the cabbage patch or whatever you choose. We just want you movin' and groovin' with us to celebrate National Dance Day!

I just checked out the Zumba one and it moves so FAST! But at least they break it down for you first. I'm nervous... emoticon

Ok, so I'm terrified to look like a fool, but I'm in anyway emoticon I watched a Zumba class at O.P. Schnabel the other day and it looked like so much fun! And I'm not really THAT uncoordinated - at least I'd like to think so emoticon Can't wait to see everyone there!

That sounds like so much fun! I'm going to miss out for two reasons, though, sadly. First, I can't dance on this stupid leg. I'm being a good girl and doing nothing that's going to cause stress on the leg, and if I can't even walk, I certainly can't dance! But I still would have come out to see y'all and support y'all, except (second) that's the day we leave for vacation, bright and early in the morning. So I'll have to miss it. I hope you all have videos and pictures and everything for the rest of us to see!!! Have a fantastic time!

Woo Hoo and Wowzers! Anyone who is too chicken, too shy, too scared, too timid or too self conscious to do this is just missing out! Let me calm any fears or misgivings anyone might have about signing on to do this. I am clumsy, two left footed and totally unable to keep a good rhythm going when I dance. I also have about 100 extra pounds to lose and am definitely no spring chicken at 52 years young. But am I going to let that stop me from shaking my groovy groovy groove thang and having fun LIVING out loud? HELLS NO!

Step out of that comfort zone and sign up to do this today. Be part of something larger than your fear, funner than fun, active, healthy, and joyous. Don't worry if you don't get all of the steps right...I sure won't! I'll be there to lead you through a quick and easy warm up and then will be joining you as I trip and tromp through what might just pass as dancing if you squint really, really hard. I challenge you to accept this awesome invitstion and come to this rally!

Come one, Come ALL!! Shake your grove thang in honor of National Dance Day (NDD) by joining us for our next Spark Rally!! On Saturday, July 28, we’ll be getting together to perform two different dance routines for National Dance Day! If you’re a fan of So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) then you probably heard about this during last night’s show! Each dance will be recorded, uploaded to YouTube, and the entry form will be submitted to SYTYCD in honor of NDD!

You can choose to participate in one or both of the dance routines! You have two options: Zumba and Hip Hop! Here is the link where you can view both videos before you make your decision:

You need not have any dance experience, or even rhythm for that matter, to participate in this rally! This rally is just a fun way to get together, enjoy a little exercise, and support one of the funnest (is that even a word? Well it is today!!) holidays! If you’re worried about your skills, or lack there of, find comfort in the fact that 1) each dance routine is broken down into sections at a slow rate so that you can really learn how they’re done 2) You have 1 month to practice and we all know that practice makes perfect! 3) It’s not about how well you move; it’s about how much fun you have! This CAN be done! Go ahead and erase the word CAN’T from your vocabulary!

We sincerely invite each and every one of you to come out for National Dance Day. We encourage you to bring friends, family, and strangers off the street. Ok, well not strangers, but you get my drift! Whether you are 8 or 80, need to loose 20 lbs or 200lbs, a dancing machine or have two left feet, everyone can do this! We want YOU to come get your dance on with us!

As if sharing some good laughs with old friends and making new friends wasn’t enough of a reason to come out and join us, practicing these routines is a great way to get in those FITNESS MINUTES! If you practice the Zumba routine 3x in a row you’ve racked up 23 minutes. Do the Hip Hop routine 3x in a row and you’ve scored 40 minutes! Now do those routines 3x a week for an entire month and you’ve earned 276 minutes for Zumba and 480 minutes for Hip Hop. Feeling wild and crazy? Do both routines 3x in a row, 3x a week for a month and that’s 756 fitness minutes! You’ll be well on your way to reaching your goal of 1000 monthly fitness minutes if you’re participating in the July Challenge! Dance is a great way to get up and get moving when you don’t feel like exercise. Plus, it just makes you feel so good!!

Have the family join you in practicing the routine and you’ve got yourself some great family bonding time. We will not be getting together to practice these routines as a group, so we suggest practicing on your own or teaming up with a friend(s) to practice together! On the NDD we will gather together and do a couple of practice run-throughs before our final take. If you sign up to participate in the Spark Rally, it will be up to you to prepare. I will be there to help guide to routines, answer any questions, and clarify any questions, but the bulk of the responsibility is yours! MaryJane (MJ-SHE-BEAST) and Melissa (GOLDENDOMER00) will be there as well!! Admittedly this might be hard for some of you as these are Master Class dance routines! However, none of you strike me as the type to just throw in the towel at a little adversity! This rally is about having fun and enjoying the company of friends, not perfection. If you make a mistake, no big deal! This is a judgment FREE zone and if you’ve been to any of our other meetups, you know we are big on SUPPORT and ENCOURAGEMENT. So step out of your comfort zone and show us those “happy feet”! Commit to try something you’ve never done or never thought you’d do!! If dancing is absolutely not going to happen, feel free to come out and support your fellow team members as an official San Antonio Team Cheerleader!!
