Hope to see everyone at Siclovia. See previous message for info and my phone number to text me if you can't find us! The only change is that I won't have my grandson with me. Let's get out and enjoy ourselves tomorrow!

Okay I have posted the announcement and sent a spark mail.
Basic information on meeting up:
We will be meeting up at the Reclovia (rest area) closest to Broadway and Mulberry at high noon (12:00). I will be easy to spot. For those who don't know me I am a short, round, white woman with very short red hair with blonde highlights. I will be wearing a hot pink FITNESS IN PROGRESS tshirt. I will most likely be with my husband who is a thin black man and my father who will be in a mobility chair. Grandson David will be in an orange and black stroller. There are pictures of us all on my sparkpage. Still have trouble finding us? TEXT ME! My number is 210-844-6126. Write it down. Save it. When you text let me know who you are so I can save your number. If you arrive late go ahead and text me and I will let you know where the group is! Let's get out and be active this weekend. See you there!

Sounds great! I will post it as an event on here. Reclovia closest to Mulberry and Broadway. I'll be easy to spot in my hot pink Fitness In Progress tshirt, husband Charles, dad on his mobility chair and David in stroller! We will probably go early as well and use 12:30 as the meet up time. Thanks for all of your help!

I have no idea what each reclovia is called, I'm sorry! I tried looking it up on the website and all I could find was the PDF of the route. But from there, it looks like it's Broadway and Mulberry. Any of those times is fine with me. Our family will probably go at 10 and spent a couple hours together, have lunch, then meet up with y'all!

Is that the Maverick Park reclovia? Do you know? Is noon a good time for everyone or would you prefer closer to 1:00? Remember it ends at 3:00. Should we split the difference and make it 12:30? Broadway and Mulberry is fine with me. Will try to drive by there later today to see what's close by (if I get the chance!)

If it's the same as last time, the main reclovia that I was talking about is the one at Broadway and Mulberry (from what I can tell from the PDF map). The two on the southern end of the route, closer to downtown, were a lot less busy when we were there, but the two on the northern end (closer to Kiddie Park and Half Price Books) were larger and had more meetup space.

Amanda, on the map I found 4 reclovias. The two closest to the center is one at Broadway and Jones, and one at Broadway near Mulberry. The ones listed near the ends of the routes are at Broadway and McCullough and I believe Broadway and Parland (kind of between Eleanor and Parland if I am not mistaken). I believe they are each at parks or places like Lions Field. I see a KLRN Kids Zone Reclovia, Mahnke Park, Maverick Park, and Lions Field. Parking areas look to be under 281 up near Josephine, but I understand you can also take the Via to the event. I am so not a logistics person!
Do you have a suggestion as to which of the two more central locations to meet or do you think one of the outlying ones? I couldn't find anything to tell me if there was a "main" zone. I'm thinking of meeting around noon or 1:00 to give folks time for an early lunch beforehand and/or for church to let out. Any suggestions will be gratefully taken!

I would suggest the main reclovia section, where they have the welcome speech, a bunch of activities (including kids' activities, like a rock-climbing wall) and the shirt vendors. That's the only place I know of specifically unless we want to meet near a certain store or something. The main reclovia is almost midway through the walk so it's a pretty central point.

Yay! I am still trying to figure out when and where to meet. I might just give everyone my cell number and say "text me!" when you get here....I dunno. It' looks like a couple of miles long so unless someone knows someone working a specific area at an exact location it is going to be a little hard logistic wise to pin down a spot. We will make it work, though!

I'm so excited that we're making this into a Spark meetup! Jason and I had such a great time doing this last year and the boys are looking forward to coming with us this time! There's a lot of kids activities too, from hula hooping to a rock climbing wall, and lots of fitness stops - body pump, zumba, kickboxing, yoga, etc. It's fantastic.

On Sunday, March 4th we will hold our next meet up at the second annual Siclovia event. The event runs from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Broadway - they close a large portion of the street for this event. It is FREE, and is for people of all activity levels and ages! Bring the family and your friends! Your San Antonio Spark Leadership team will be working out the details this week of when and where to meet up.
Last year our own POOKASLUAGH - Amanda- went to Siclovia and had a blast. Here's a link to her blog about it. www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_ individual.asp?blog_id=4515461 She made it sound so fun and interesting I just knew we would make it a spark event if it came around again, and it has!
You can walk it (as most of us will), run it, bike it, skateboard it, or dance it along the route. From what I understand they hold zumba lessons and all kinds of fun, fit activities. Here's a link to the site for more information. There are lots of restrooms and water available every half mile of the route. You can stop and start anywhere you like. You can take it as easy and leisurely as you wish, or ramp it up and be super active. siclovia.org/ Be sure to explore the site and the FAQs! More information coming later in the week!
