LOL! You were too fast on your response...I edited mine and then found your answer! Sounds super fun!
We need lots of ideas for the entire year...a meet up a month is ideal. Just remember, the meet up for May will be near the end of the month, hopefully at McAllister Park Pavilion 2 where we will have a good old fashioned fun day of hula hoops, tug o war, relays, 3 legged races and all kinds of fun and active events from the good old days! It will be my birthday celebration, but gifts are not expected...just lots of friends and a lot of fun!
Oh yes! They close down a couple miles of Broadway to all traffic, so you can walk, run, bike, whatever up and down the streets, and there are several spots along the way with different events like zumba, body pump, etc. There's also a kids area for rock climbing, hula hooping, etc. It's awesome! I think this time this street is going to be closed from 10-2 or 10-3.
Very cool idea, Amanda...do you know if it is a free event?
*edit* Never mind. Shouldn't have been so lazy and just looked it up before asking. Yes, it is FREE! Even if it doesn't turn into a spark meet, we should post about it up until the date and encourage people to go. I do think it would be a great meet up thing, but logistically it might be hard to round us all up there! Anyway, I'm posting the link because it sounds fantastic! siclovia.org/what-is-siclovia/136--a -f ree-event-san-antonios-2nd-siclovia-R>march-4-2012.html
Would also love to do one meet up in the early spring or fall after the worst of the heat is gone to have an outdoor zumba or exercise class of Sparkers in a public place to both have fun and promote Spark and the fact that you can exercise and have fun no matter your shape, size, or level of fitness. If we could find some willing and brave souls to lead us in zumba, I'm sure some of us leaders would be willing to handle the cardio work out part! Just throwing ideas out there for you to chew on!
Haven't done Hardberger yet, but would like to. Eisenhower has special memories for me; it was where it all started for several of us as friends during our first ever Spark Meet. It's not an easy walk, even the easier trail as it is a bit uphill, but I felt very accomplished when I made it up there. I love that it offers several trails of varying difficulty for different abilities and we all end up in the same spot which is cool. If I made the easier trail, anyone can!
I've heard Hardberger Park is supposed to have really good trails, and that there's one that's almost exactly a mile loop. I haven't been there myself, but it might be worth exploring for future outings!
I myself really enjoyed that hike we did last year. Not sure where it was but it had the tower that we climbed up and took a great picture. Think that would be a great one before it got to hot. A group 5K would be fun!
Living life one mile and adventure at a time! Life is way to short be be living it on the sidelines. Set a goal and go for it!

This morning after our group walk several of us discussed some ideas for the next meetup..... there were definitely some GREAT ideas for when or where future meetups should be thrown out there so I ask now:
If you have an idea for a place or time for a future meetup, please won't you share it with us? Be creative! We need your input to make future meetups as successful as this morning's was!
