Good morning and Happy October! The challenge is over. I hope everyone will participate in the October Double Trouble Challenge. No sign ups, no teams, participate whenever you want...and best of all, REAL PRIZES!

Our final results are in for the Freggie Challenge. Once again we took 3 zeroes. We got 149 servings this week with ANTHONYSGAL pulling in 60 of those points. Divided by 7 with the three zeroes and that comes to 21.28 servings per participant. Without the zeroes it would have been 37. 25.
Our grand total for the challenge is 633 servings with an average of 22 servings with the zeroes, but an average of 39 servings with the actual participants.

Our top participant was ANTHONYSGAL for all three weeks. Go Mary!
Thanks everyone who stuck it out. I hope anyone who was having Freggie Trouble found a few new friends among the vegetation to add to their healthy eating habits. Thanks, everyone!

Well I got 2 more servings in Thursday celery
Friday we ate out all day and I made sure to have 5 servings
Saturday got 4
and today hit my 5 for breakfast.

This weeks total 34 servings

Hello Team! Posting a link to a great side dish recipe that is easy to make, only 90 calories, and will satisfy the sweet and crunch craving so many of us get. A great way to add in some fruit and veggies as well! It's a carrot/apple/pineapple/yogurt slaw that I'm going to try tonight!

Mary, my smoothies always have 2 cups of spinach OR green mix of spring greens, kale, and spinach. I use a banana and frozen cut up mixed fruit or berries to get that thick, milkshake/slushy consistency. I thin it out with a little apple juice and water. My grandson loves them so much he will whine if I skip a day that he needs his "moozie". I usually get between 3 and 5 veg/fruit servings (sometimes more!) from one BIG glass of this. David gets a 9 ounce serving in his spiderman cup. Too much in a little one's tummy and you have potty problems...all that fiber!

Awe thanks Yvette...I encourage you that if you like certain fruits and veggies eat extra servings or add extra in your smoothie...that is how i get more in...gonna try a new green smoothie from one of my spark friends...it has a whopping 2 cups of spinach in it...keep those freggies coming ladies...it's pure AWESOMENESS FOR YOUR BODY

Aww, thanks, Yvette! I have total faith in you!

Had a HUGE smoothie for lunch today which really helped up my intake. Love those smoothies! Adding in my dinner total which will add two more servings. If I get motivated and eat another piece of fruit or more veggies I will add them in later.

That's very gratifying to hear, Mary. Thank you so much! Amanda is a great encourager as well and is really bringing something to the team in the way of being an inspiration and having a heart for leadership and getting the team moving. TaMara really wants to see this team succeed and her spunk and energy help keep me on my toes. I'm so proud to have such motivated and inspirational people in leadership with me.

We are just having an off time. Most of the people on our team are generally very competitive and motivated. I'm not too worried. I think we are going to end the challenge on a high note. Love you all and am ready to fight hard this week to make a good showing!

Really only two people emoticon ...that really blows.I'm uber competitive and i HATE LOSING emoticon ...wondering why people signup for challenge them dont partake in the challenge...perplexing emoticon ...but I win emoticon cuz this is helping me up my freggie intake and maybe help me widdle my middle emoticon ..just wanna say a BIG emoticon to you MJ for all you do and how you continue to come up with fun and relative challenges to what I am doing...your summer challenge and my fb challenge team helped me thru the summer while my biggest loser team was on hiatus for the summer...the SA team is probably one of the more active teams I belong to and I know that is largely do to you so emoticon for being helpful and part of my lifestyle change..one of my spark friends was telling me I should start a team or be a leader on a team cuz of how active I am . She was saying that none of her teams are active at all and how glad she was to have spark friends that are active cuz the help keep her going and keep her motivated..I wish the SA members would see how lucky they are to have an ACTIVE leader such as yourself. In case you do hear it often and I'm quite sure you dont hear it often enough THANK YOU MJ FOR TAKING THE TIME TO DO ALL THAT YOU DO TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN SOMEONE'S LIFE... you are pure AWESOMENESS!!!!!

Dang. Yet again we only had two people make deadline. Team, seriously...my phone number is 844-6126. Put it in your phones and text me over the weekend and I will post your totals for you if you don't get on the computer after Friday or get busy.

I've added up our numbers and here is how we come out. We have a total of 186 servings. We had two zeroes for the week. 186 divided by our 7 team members is an average of 26 servings per member.

Finished the week at 79 and two of my fruit smoothies today one with my HUGE grilled shrimp salad I had for lunch at work and I had another with my dinner tonight...let's go Vs and let's be victorious this week...woohoo..going to look over and preview my turbo fire tonight before I start my BBL workout. Also plan on looking more into the 3 day fruit flush...GN LADIES

Hi everyone,
Sorry I posted in the wrong area and brought the team behind.
I was waiting patiently for a post in the sign up area and posted this:
" Made stew with carrots, potatoes, celery, beef, and added chicken stock. It is healthy and gets a serving of veggies with every bowl full.
Had salads for at least one meal every day last week. Stopped at the Watermelon wagon in Floresville got a $3 size. Garden is sprouting cant wait for the fresh beans, radish, beets, and other greens. "
As I was not reading my e-mail
So far this week I have been hitting at least 5 a day. Will get my tally in this week on time.

Yes, do turn in your numbers for Sunday on THIS WEEK. I didn't count them because I went with your very last post from last week and only included those totals. Since we can't take numbers turned in on Monday, I had to do that. What I have suggested is this: If you can't post on the weekends before deadline, post at least on Friday. I would rather have 6 days total than none. The best solutions for those who can't get to a computer on the weekend or just don't want to get online during the weekend is to text me on Saturday or Sunday with your totals. My phone is ALWAYS on. My number is 844-6126. Just make sure you tell me who you are when you text!

I like the way the Puntastic team is reporting their intake. I'm not making it mandatory, but it IS a lot easier to track. All you do is make a little calendar for the week like the one below. Each day that you report just find your last post and copy and paste it into your new post, changing the running total at the bottom. I'm going to try it this way for my own convenience. Hope some of you will as well!

The numbers just went out in an email, but here's what we've got for the week:

Our Funksters have come out on top with 31.83 average freggies per person this week. Top points on the Funky team go to JOYCEBROWN with 57 freggies. Woohoo! Only one person on the Funky team did not report in any numbers.

The Punksters come in second with 29.75 average freggies per person this week. Top points on the Punky team go to RUSSTHESKIGUY with 44 freggies. Great job! Only one person on the Punky team did not report in any numbers.

Unfortunately, a full half of the Vicious team did not report in at all for the week. The team's total thus comes out to 20 average freggies per person this week. The Vicious high scorer is ANTHONYSGAL with 58 freggies - fantastic!

So overall, the Funksters are winning the team challenge, but Vicious has the #1 high score of 58 freggies this week.

Thanks to all of you who reported in this week. Please, please remember that the whole team counts on you reporting in. It doesn't matter how many servings you get in. You don't have to have a high number. Any number is better than a zero! Let's try for 100% participation this week!! Jennifer, I very much appreciate your attitude. Doing better this week is wonderful. The deadline for turning in tallies is 10 pm on Sunday evening, though we are a little lax on this give or take an hour or so. Monday afternoon is too late, I'm afraid.

If people who CANNOT get to a computer on the weekends would either text me at 844-6126 during the weekend or just turn in what they have on Fridays I would rather lose a day of counts than a whole week. For a couple I used the last amount they posted about throughout the week, even though I know they did more. If you can post daily or everyone other day or so that is great as well.

We will be posting the team results for all three teams later today. Waiting on one more team to get their results tallied.

We already know, of course, that on our team ANTHONYSGAL ate the most servings of fruits and veggies last week. She did phenomenal!

I am kind of disappointed about the lack of reporting in, to be honest. I know people work and have lives...trust me, I understand this. But half of us not responding at all during the entire first week has put us in last place. I know none of you want this. If we lose I don't want it to be from lack of trying or lack of participation. An honorable loss is acceptable. This week's loss isn't an honorable one.

That's it, I'm not going to scold further. If you didn't participate last week but are signed up for our team, please participate this week. We need you; more importantly we WANT you on our team. ASKIPPING!!! This is about being accountable...not just to your team mates, but to yourself. I would much rather you be honest about your intake than not post out of embarrassment or lie to make a "great" showing! You seem to be averaging around 4 servings a day, which is a LOT better than the average American diet. We need to strive for 5 a day, but girl...I think you are doing a great job! DO NOT FEEL BAD! You are important to the team. You have value. You are participating. It's a wonderful thing!

p.s....If it wasn't for our homemade smoothies, I doubt Mary (ANTHONYSGAL) and I would have nearly as many servings. They pack a lot. Mine always have 2 servings of spinach IN ADDITION to the juice and/or fruit I add to them!

After 3:00 pm Tuesday, I had 1 cup spinach with dinner. On Wednesday, I didn't do well at all. I only had 1 cup of cheeries. Yesterday, I had 1 cup cheeries, 1 orange, 1 cup orange juice, and a cup of green beans. Today, I had 1 cup of strawberries, 1 orange, 1 apple, 1 banana, 1 cup of tropicana berry juice, and 1 cup of broccoli. So, over the span of 3 and 1/2 days I had 12 freggie servings.

Hey ladies doing a late check in just finished my BBL workout. It was my sculpt its 50 minutes and a lot of fun.

So my running total is 37. Here's the break down:

1 medium tomato(all of this was for my shrimp salad for lunch)

1 for half cup of watermelon I had before my workout(got a lil hungry lol)

I had the procedure on my back late this morning and wasn't able to eat until afterwards so I had a glass of grape juice in the surgery center for one serving and haven't felt much like eating since then. I ate a banana and for dinner I will be eating a baked potato and some coleslaw so I guess 4 servings for today making my running total 18 for the week so far.

Yesterday's intake was 1 cup apple juice and two cups of fresh cherries at breakfast, a large orange for a snack, 1/2 cup of pace picante sauce (eaten with 18 corn tortilla chips). I guess that's 4.5. Since we slept in, breakfast and lunch were late and dinner didn't happen. So far today, I had 2 cups of Berry Juicy juice with breakfast and two cups of cherries and 1/2 cup of picante sauce at lunch. So my next entry will start with after 3pm Tuesday.

You know, Yvette, when I was forming the teams (we did it in order of sign up and I got every third sign up) I saw your name and thought, "Hmmm... I remember she has some food phobias in regards to texture and veggies....a challenge! Well, a challenge isn't supposed to be super easy, right? Start out small and work your way up. Try them raw, try them roasted, boiled, baked, hidden in sauces, whatever it takes. Not just for the challenge, but for your health. You got this, my friend!

My favorite veggies would be broccoli, spinach, and snow peas.

Just curious about something:

What are your 3 favorite veggies? Mine are tomatoes, baby spinach, and purple(red) onions.
What are your 3 favorite fruits? Mine are all grapes, very ripe cantaloupe, ripe bananas

What fruits and veggies do you like least? I'm not a big fan of brussel sprouts, canned green beans (blech!) and cannot even stand the smell of canned beets. Have never met a fruit I didn't like.

Yesterday, I had a serving of raisins, and a serving of grapes with breakfast. For a mid-morning snack, I had a large orange. At lunch time, I had a serving of cooked spinach. With dinner, I had two servings of asparagus spears. That's 6 servings for me for yesterday.

Victory will be ours, Vicious Vegetation! But not without doing better than I, myself, did today on this first day of challenge. I can only account for 3 servings of fruits and vegetables and no beans or legumes. That will have to change!

The best way for ME to keep track of how many servings I have is to include them in the food tracker. Near the top just above the food search section it says Fruit/Veggie Quick Track. Each time you click on the up arrow a section is colored in with a different fruit/veggie. You can track this way by clicking the up arrow for each fruit, veggie, legume, pea, or bean serving you consume. If you do this daily you can just look back over each day to add up your weekly totals.

Let's make this team live up to it's Victorious name and leave the Punky and Funky teams in the dust, okay? Go Team! emoticon

Everyone should get a spark mail from your team leader in the next day or so verifying your team and members. You may end up with more members as the deadline isn't reached yet, but the challenge is on! Post daily, every few days, but at least once a week to let your leader and team mates know where you stand. Leaders will go over the rules and what a serving portion is with you and by when you need your weekly totals in. Let's have fun with this!
