Water is very important for us. We may, and I do, require more than the 8 glasses a day. The link goes to a water calculator I use to see what I need for my current weight. Mt requirement has dropped 9 ounces due to weight loss. Yipee!

I love all these tips, many I can do....and don't always. Many I'll be 63 in Oct., well my body will be and that is why I'm here on sparkpeople to get my 63 body to match my 40 mind. So I'll see how many of these tips I can move into slowly. emoticon

Play Wii fit!!!
I discovered that yesterday and did only one minute of each exercice in the 4 categories(yoga, balance, aerobics, strength training)
and after 30 min I was dead! And I am quite sure it burns a lot more than 100 calories!

No matter what or how much you eat during the day, there's no way around the fact that losing weight requires burning more calories than you take in. Here, we've put together 10 easy ways to burn 100 extra calories each day. Add these to the exercise you're already doing and you're bound to lose big emoticon emoticon !

1. Play outdoor games with the kids (tic-tac-toe, four square).
Take the whole crew outside for some fun and games in the evening before the sun goes down and you'll burn 100 calories in just 17 minutes. Plus, the kids will enjoy the quality time with you and may persuade you to play twice that long!

2. Resist the urge to order takeout food and spend just 30 minutes preparing a delicious, low-fat meal emoticon emoticon .
The added bonus is that you'll also be eating fewer calories!

3. Take a 20-minute walk with your dog (or borrow a neighbor's) in the morning.
Fido could probably use the exercise, and it's a great way to wake up and get your blood pumping!

4. Get romantic.
Just a half hour of slow dancing with your spouse or significant other will burn those calories -- and bring you closer together as a couple.

5. Enjoy your favorite leisure-time activity.
Spend just 15 minutes bowling, 30 minutes playing Frisbee, 18 minutes golfing or play 13 hands of cards.

6. Catch up with family emoticon and friends emoticon .
Spend an hour getting in touch with your family and friends by e-mail, not by phone. (It's the typing that burns calories.)

7. Plant some flower bulbs, so they bloom just in time for warm weather.
Just 20 minutes of weeding and planting is all you need to burn those 100 calories.

8. Wash the car.
If it's warm enough to skip the drive-through car wash, scrub down your vehicle on the weekends. It's also a great way to catch some rays and breathe in fresh air!

9. Repair your own clothes.
Save some money on tailoring and do it yourself! Sew buttons and fix ripped seams while you watch your favorite hour-long drama, and you'll burn that magic number!

10. Take the stairs.
You've heard this before, but take those stairs every chance you get. Just 20 minutes of climbing up and down steps over the course of a day does the trick.
