I have my first 5k run of 2010 on Sunday. I have probably two more scheduled for later this year. 5k is a great distance, but having to warm up before the race even starts gets me every time. I never want to use up too much energy, but at the same time, I don't want to not be warmed up enough. It's a tough line to find! I've run two really great 5ks where my warm-up was spot on and one really terrible 5k where I was so excited I just forgot all about warming up! Yikes! Anyone else really enjoy the 5k distance? I think it's a perfect race distance because you can get there, get it done, and be home and showered before too many people are awake, so you don't miss half the day because you're out running still!
