I ran my first half-marathon this summer. It was a challenge for me for sure, my biggest distance was only 10K prior to that. I told myself that I would continue to do a long run every so often after that, and I have yet to do another one. It has been a busy summer though, so now that routines are back with fall almost here, hopefully I will do some longer ones.

Half is the only distance I have raced so far. I have a 10k next weekend and then I will run the Carrabba's Half in San Antonio in a few months as part of my Marathon training

I LOVE the HM too! I'm training for a full this year, I guess it's one of those bucket list things... but I ran 3 HMs last year! It's challenging enough that I have to train for it. I think 10k is too short b/c I could go out and run 6.2 almost anyday of the week!!

I prefer running half marathons. I ran one marathon a few years ago and it took a lot of time and dedication. The training for a half marathon is challenging, but not as intense as marathon training. The half is my distance of choice. I've done 10ks, and I'm training for my first full marathon, but honestly, the half is what I enjoy most.

There are alot of us out here. I'm doing the Illonis half and the Kansas City half this year. May sure you train in the heat since yours is in the heat.

Anyone out there currently training for a HM? I've run a few already and I am running my first of 2010 in August. It's the "Hottest Half" in Dallas, TX. I'm pretty excited about it. I love running 13.1 miles because it feels like a challenge but is still pretty exciting as far as adrenaline and energy. Anyone else out there love the HM distance?
