Tons of water!! just starting a cleanse this coming week. Not sure which to do yet!? Has anyone done a good one recently? No master cleanses or any fasting... I'm training for a half in March and need all the energy boosting foods I can get!

Water, water, and more water. I don't drink anything but. Occasionally I'll have some Vanilla Chai tea if I want to unwind after work. However, I went from drinking 3-4 diet cokes a day PLUS 6-8 cups of coffee. The day I stopped both was when I realized I couldn't function because I was so shaky and couldn't collect thoughts..also happened to be my worst semester in school because I started drinking the stuff so I could stay awake all night to do homework and study but then I just ended up needing more and more to get me through each day and finally it all caught up with me. *Sigh.* So now I stick to water. Occasionally I'll drink ONE cup of black drip on the weekend or, like I said, tea after work, but that's about it. Don't like to waste my calories on liquids!

currently, Nescafe... Yep it's instant coffee but it's quick, easy, and my comfort beverage. :-)

The Starbucks rant is understood. I very rarely go into a store. I usually by their coffee and brew my own. This morning I am having Gutamala Antigua. Pretty good stuff.

right now its black.... home brew
(Whatever was on sale)

I really WANT to go to Starbucks however I am irritated with them right now.

My daughter and I have a deal to help her become more accountable for getting up and going to bed as she should without our urging.

Its allot of effort by everyone, the goal is we get to go before school and sit like adults (She is 11) and have conversation over coa coa.

Yesterday was just a total mess! one of the baristas' boyfriends was there they were swearing about f -in cops, they double charged me for my drink, both of ours were made too strong (Compared to what we were used to)..... it just went on and on.

frustrated because in this economy to spend money in that way is a bit irresponsible however effective to my goal, I thought about sharing that with the company but to what end?

I am having a cup or two of Starbucks Sumatra. Strong, black no sugar.

It is very interesting to me how it seems like every couple of months or so that a new study comes out about caffeine and coffee and everyone is different. One month coffee is bad, the next month coffee is good in moderation. I just read the ones that say its good and keep drinking. I especially like the articles that say it actually increases your running performance.

Yall have a great day!

Ooooh i understand!!! I am the same way, the doc wants me to give up coffee (And caffeine - NOT happening) completely.

So I have been trying to go "Tea" and I have a kettle and all that but the coffee pot does the whole preset thing and i ready as i stumble into the kitchen... that smell and I go completely black, I LOVE the flavor so I come up with all kinds of excuses...

YUP I get it LOL!

However it is not what is healthy for me and isn't that the ideal I am working toward, so yes the kettle take a bit longer, yes i will miss that taste (Even though i will occasionally take a cup of good ole joe as i did this morning!) I am going to continue to work toward the tea as it IS what is right for me.

I definitely get it though LOL!

I've only been a coffee drinking for about 4 years, before that, only tea! So yes, I do love tea, and everyday I tell myself that it's time to just give up on the whole coffee thing and go back to tea. I had to go off the Nexium while pregnant and went back to tea, and no reflux, not until I went back to coffee. I guess it's a no-brainer, huh?!?

There's just something about that coffee first thing in the morning, the smell, the first cup, all of it! I haven't ever tried tea with milk - maybe when I finally do get fed up enough with this relux mess I'll give that a shot.

have you tried tea? much less abrasive and the caffeine actually carries a much more consistent and effective sustainability!

Not to mention all of the positive effects teas has on our bodies, you can read up on it all over the place, add a little skim milk and it can be very similar!

just a thought

Coffee, 3 - 4 cups! With sweetener and a yummy creamer. I LOVE it so much, but it causes terrible acid reflux. I have to take Nexium, which has crappy side effects and doesn't completely stop it, just to enjoy my coffee!

Actually I have not seen this, neat idea, well started with black coffee, then about 72 oz of water before / during/ after run..

then starbucks "London Fog"... an interesting new tea drink that i recommend if you are a "Chai" person... has a spicy almost peppery after taste.

~Welcome, anything I can offer please don't hesitate!

I am new to this team so I hope this hasn't already been done. Since this is the Runner's Cafe I might be fun to tell what kind of coffee or tea you are drinking each morning.

This morning I am drinking Starbucks Christmas blend. Brewed myself because that way i make it how I like it.
