Back in the day I utilized a gym that had a sauna and yes it was soooo refreshing... they even had an eucalyptus sauna room- opened your sinus cavity for sure. My birthday is in April and I just might treat myself to a massage/sauna deal at the local spa... I never had a massage so it would be a real treat for me. The way the economy is going I just hope and pray to have my job come April...

I love the sauna. I don't use the steam room but I have a sauna and use it regularly. It relaxes you and you get the best sleep.

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them
They think I'm telling lies.
I say
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips
The stride of my steps
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenal woman
That's me.

Girlfriend, when I use to go the gym back in the day. I was member of Bally's and after a good work out I would hit the wet sauna(steam room) instead of the dry sauna because I had dry skin, at that time I also had a gerri curl so you know that was really back in the day(LOL), but I killed two birds with one stone, I misted my gerri curl and got a good pours opener at the same time and yes, it's so relaxing after strength training and cardio workouts and you come out feeling brand new. Full body massages are nice too, everyone should atleast treat themselves to it, you owe it to your body. The sauna's are free with your membership but the full body massage is on you unless someone is nice enough to give you a gift certificate to a nice place and while you're there have a pedicure and a manicure, I promise you it will make your day.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I have completed my cardio goals since joining this site. I am so happy. Doing cardio is not easy for me.

I wanted to tell you about my experience in the sauna and steam room at my gym. I have been a member of my gym for about two years. I have never used these rooms at all. Well I decided to have a spa day on Saturday due to stress and let me tell you, I have never felt so good in my life! I sweated like a pig for real. But, the skin on my face was clearer than it has ever been and I had so much energy later that day, I thought someone had drugged me. I can't wait to go again. I figure I will do this at least twice a week.

Any thoughts or recommendations on saunas and steam rooms is welcome.
