Both Match and May Wah carry vegan crab although I've never tried it so can't vouch for the quality. I'm fairly certain that these are the brands that asian vegan restaurants use as I've purchased May Wah's citrus spareribs and chicken wings before and they look and taste exactly as they do when I order these dishes in vegan asian restaurants. There are many vegan versions of crab out there. A local Chinese restaurant near me has a vegan menu with vegan shrimp that are actually shaped like shrimp. (They do not have a vegan crab rangoon) I would suggest going to an Asian market and looking at their canned faux meats section.

Maybe tempeh for the crab? It's often used to make fake tuna salad, so maybe it would work.

Anyone have any ideas/recipes for vegan "crab" rangoon?

This is LITERALLY the only thing I really crave that I cannot find anywhere! I have never even heard of people making it vegan! I used to make a semi-healthy baked version at home (when I ate seafood) but it sure wasn't very tasty. There is something about that fried, creamy, greasy goodness that just appeals to me!

I would assume that you could use vegan cream cheese, maybe vegan sour cream, green onions, wontons (fried)... but what would I use in place of crab?
