A common reason blueberry bushes die is due to the soil PH is too high. Blueberries like a PH between 5.5 and 6.5. You can get a PH meter fairly inexpensively ($10-15) and if the PH is to high you can lower it by adding various forms of soil acidifyers both when you plant it and you will need to continue to check the PH level a couple of times a year and add more when needed.

Aren't home grown blueberries great!
Be sure to keep watching the soil PH on them. They like an acid soil.

My blueberries finally grew this year. I was so happy to have fresh ones instead of store bought. I think mine taste better
