If I was single I would have moved already to a different job. The BF has a desire to keep me around though

Anne, I have a laptop at home but still use my work computer for almost everything, paying bills, on-line shopping etc.

And it doesn't help they just gave me a BIGGER screen emoticon

Hi Tes,
Welcome. Getting ready for a sale has got to be the most stressful thing to do. You sound like it's going ok so far.

I am back after two days off. I did ok in food department but didn't do any exercise other than horse riding and I know that isn't enough.

Glad you are having good weather there. We had some really cold mornings, brrr.
Have fun at graduation.

We are having a very nice day here in D.C.

I skipped the gym this morning to come in early but I got my exercise in by running back and forth from one end of the office to the next collecting paper work for a project that I'm trying to get out before I leave.

I'm leaving early for a graduation.

Walking tomorrow before work is on my agenda.

New around here...trying to get my house ready to sell. Today is planning, making a few phone calls, and cleaning up a couple paper piles. Hope you are all well and have a great day.

Anne, that's great! I love dancing and don't do it nearly often enough.
Yes, I did improve, in every category. My blog has the details. Today is a 45 minute brisk walk. I usually get bored and want to stop by 30 min so the 45 min ones are always a bit of a struggle. But I will do it.

Jana you've got to be kidding! Of course you can do more!
Can't wait to hear all about it.

Went dancing last night (my usual Sat exercise) I try to do at least 30 min and I think (I know, I know, I should have counted better) I went up to an hour. Sweated up a storm but just kept going. The a/c there really doesn't do a good job. Tonight is weights

Good job, Anne. Way to de-stress.

My son had his last Spring-season soccer game yesterday afternoon then most of the team went out to dinner. We enjoyed it. The "Fall" season starts with practice on Monday. LOL

Today is scheduled to be a light day for exercise. I have a fitness test scheduled. It will take about 10 minutes. Time to see if I can do more than I could 2 weeks ago.

Hello ! ! ! ! ! !
join right in...please do!

Work was just awful yesterday. I had no time for email or games or sparking. I don't think I could do that again
(my definition of work: is that annoying time in between having fun)
So I went to the treadmill afterwards and so totally threw all the stress and not fun stuff under my feet and ran them over.

Walking is a great exercise. I just started 3 weeks ago and went hiking on Sunday. Although I didn't do that well with walking this week after the hike but my metabolism keeps increasing every week.

oh Gosh ladies, you are making me want to go to the gym today emoticon.
I'm not physically tired but mentally, work is keeping me on my toes, no complains though.

I so want to take a walk before it gets too dark but not at 90 degrees, maybe I'll wake up early and take a walk around the neighborhood before it gets hot.

I will go to the gym, I will go to the gym.

Anne- it is great that your capris are fitting better! That is always a good sign.

School activity: from 4-6 I sat at a desk and checked in volunteers. From 6-8 I wandered around looking at displays, etc. Not really active, but at least I wasn't laying on the couch watching TV.

I DID get a 45 minute brisk walk in earlier in the day. Today I volunteer at the food bank and I also intend to get in a 30 minutes period of cardio. Laundry, dishes, bathrooms clean, etc.

WAY TO GO Kathy!!!!!!!!

I went horse riding for 90 min and will go dancing for 30 tonight. I think the scale is moving again and I know these capris fit better.

You will probably be moving a lot with that school activity, huh. Have a great time

Yesterday's Bikini mom workout made me sore. They were like modified burpees with a weightlifting aspect thrown in. Very creative. Today will be a busy day. My volunteering and my son's school activity. I plan to get in a 45 min cardio workout as well.

I'm glad you enjoyed your vacation, Anne! I have fond memories of Disneyworld.

Mom and I walked through a really cute old town and across the Sandy River. We never knew there was a walking path on that little bridge. But then we ended up on a skinny road with no sidewalk so we turned back. On the way back it started raining. We ended up back at the car, wet, having only walked 30 minutes. Oh, well. Good enough. Then we had lunch at the little italian place right there in the old town. They have the most amazing chopped tomato, basil and balsamic topping for toasted bread. It just comes to your table before you order. We both ordered soup and we got a second serving of the bread/tomatoes. Yum yum. Not perfect for my diet, but a lovely time with my mom...

Household chores and general catching up today.

So sorry about your bronchitis and hope you feel better soon. Thanks for the great advice. I couldn't decide and didn't want to make the pain any worse. Treadmill sounds like a great idea. I'll take a small walk and see if it gets any better. And also include the treadmill as part of my walking. Maybe I'll try to increase the incline on the treadmill for next few days and see if that does the trick so I can go back to my regular walks again. Miss it already.

Lovelypampa, when my calves or thighs hurt from working out, I usually just work right through it but at a slower pace and it doesn't hurt any worse.

I did so well with keeping up with my workouts while on vacation but came back and got bronchitis somehow. ughhh. Thank goodness it's in it's last days and I've been talking slow walks on my treadmill.

Hoping to sneak out at lunch tomorrow for a weight training class. emoticon

Have fun on your walk, Jana.

Excellent ASPEN! I usually show weight gain during bloating time. So you might have a nice surprise and show more weight loss in a few days. Good Luck!

I went hiking on Sunday. I haven't hiked especially steep hills (although it felt like mountains..lol) in a long time. I woke up yesterday and felt both my calves like stretched. I couldn't even go out for my long walk. I don't want to miss my walk again. Any ideas how to reduce the pain? I put aspercreme as I was desperate. I already tried Epsom salt and it helped. Should I just keep walking and it'll get better? Or just take it easy and let it heal first?

I had a very bad night, only got about 1 1/2 hours of sleep. It was due to a mix of drinking too much water yesterday (between 70 -80 ozs, I'm going to to stick to around 64 ozs), my time of the month, being sore from exercising, and to add to it I had some cold and hot flashes. I wonder if the joys of premenopausal is coming on.

BUT I am feeling really good right now! Why? Because I went ahead and got my morning exercising in anyway. I did WATP Woman's Walk 2 miles (no I am not on Nutri-system but enjoy throwing the DVD in for a change along with many others).

This is only day four on exercising and I really did not want to skip...well actually I did and I didn't. lol I am trying to get into a routine and I know I must spend weeks if not months before it will be routine. I will wait and see how my afternoon is, I might just do a 1 mile instead of another 2 miles or more.

I am very proud of myself. I know if I ended up not exercising today I would regret it, if not today, definitely by tomorrow. Now I can treat myself to some Spark time.

Oh, edited to add...I dropped pounds!!! I weighed in this morning, went from 159 to 157.2.

I am doing much better with the eating so I am concentrating on getting my fitness minutes up. When I do more, I lose weight so this should be a no brainer but we all know how the brain feels about that and ends up getting in the way

My husband & I have started running in the early evening (5:15-5:30 or so). I recently returned to work after being home for almost 4 years. During that time we could have run earlier in the day (around 2:30 or so) because my husband got home around 2 but we never did. Sometimes I have trouble falling asleep on the nights we work out, even with not going to bed until 10pm but I think it's better to be a little sleep deprived a few days a week than to not work out.

Now if I can just get my eating under control..... emoticon

68Anne, I think that's smart to use the resources you have. We might wish for resources that other people use, but those might not be convenient, available, or affordable. When I lived in an apartment complex in my 20s, there were huge baseball fields nearby, along with a rarely-used quarter-mile track and a wooded path. I lost weight and got in shape by walking up to 4.5 miles a day. Now I scout Groupon for short-term gym memberships to use in the dead of winter and heat of summer, and take advantage of beautiful city parks during the nicer months.

Eat to fuel your body, instead of working out to offset calorie consumption.

Courage comes from the Old French for "heart". To be courageous literally means to do something heart-felt.

The entire place to yourself !!!! Count me in.

I work out in the morning to get it over with. But I love going to the gym Fridays afterwork because it's only a handful of people at that time.

I say get it in when you can.

Good for you. emoticon

Good on you for getting the exercise worked into your schedule. to be honest it sounds the ideal time to be working out, if you are not too tired by then, as you can have the whole place to yourself. I am still trying to convince myself to join the office gym (which is sponsored and v. cheap)... I walk a lot, that's my excuse but maybe I should go check out the equipment, like you did ;)

I just have to share my story-
I have a per-diem job at the local hospital. You get free access to the physical therapy room and all the fitness equipment. I went and signed the paperwork and got the door code ages ago (like years). More recently but still a while ago I went after work one night to look over the equipment. I didn't do anything and was there just a few minutes. So why oh why would you not do anything on this free equipment? Ah foolish girl you are asking the unanswerable question. Well after putting off going and putting off, I finally went last night and had a nice workout. I am the only one there at that time of night (just before midnight) and yes it took me a bit to fall asleep afterwards but I did sleep good once I did.
I dislike working out so late but during the day there are rehab people there and you have to wait until all the patients have left. So instead of trying to fit this into someone else's schedule, I am going to make it fit into mine. I usually don't head for bed until 2 am so this isn't that much of a problem. I will rather have worked out late than not at all.

I don't think that's negative. It does seem a long ways away for many people. They suggest mini goals. In percentages like 2% of body weight or 2-7 lb increments or measurements, like one inch lost. Look into the motivational page or the search bar. Maybe you could have fitness goals, like touching your toes. There are so many different ones...lol

Okay, not to sound negative, but does reaching your goal every seem soooooo far away? I know, it's about learning healthier living techniques and better ways to fuel your body and motivate yourself, not just about looking slimmer. But I hafta admit, with this warm weather, I kind of wish I could be there now. The important thing to remember is that we'll go through these days no matter what, would we rather get through the next three or four months in a haze of overeating or feeling empowered and healthier. I'm still feeling a little impatient, tho. :)

Congrats on horse back riding. I love horse back riding, it really is a great muscle toner! And a wonderful exercise because it's so much fun!

Nice job of leaving the ice cream! I didn't

Glad you got the e-file done. I did that way this year and was very happy with it!

I am back into horseriding for the year. We took a long break during the winter and have finally gotten some good weather. We've missed many days because of rain. Each time we head out is about two hours so it is wonderful exercise but oooooh my butt and thighs are sore.

Today was rough! Didn't sleep well, work had me driving everywhere, and then trying to resolve a snafu in my tax return left me tense and tired. I hardly had time to eat all day.

Fortunately, the day finally turned around. I did e-file, and that was a load off my mind. I not only had time to attend a volunteer planning meeting this evening, but to walk there and back (2 mi. total) on what had turned into a lovely spring evening. Ate dinner out, which pushed the day's calories (and fat grams) to the max, but I managed not to go beserk. For me, that's a victory in and of itself.

Tomorrow won't be easy, either, but I am just glad this day is OVER!

Eat to fuel your body, instead of working out to offset calorie consumption.

Courage comes from the Old French for "heart". To be courageous literally means to do something heart-felt.

I agree with Paula, at least you were out there.

Many people go to these just to walk it. It is good too.

Plus you were supporting them.

Sad to say, I punked out !!!! I don't know why I wasted my $20. I know I don't and can't run !!!! The building next to me was the beginning and ending line so I did see the runners. It was a lot of them. intimidating !!!!!

A guy at work is going to do the same run this Friday. Luck to him.

Did you get the runner's high? I used to jog all the time but only got to that point a few times. I think my pace was just too slow :)

I had a good Easter with my family. I then did the wiifit on Monday and Tuesday. I also walked a mile and a half or so yesterday evening. I will need to do some kind of exercise this evening, whether it is wiifit or walking.

I had a great Easter dinner with one of my sisters and her family. My niece did most of the cooking and I must say it was very tasty !!!!

Got up early and did a morning work out at the gym. emoticon

And I need to go home and do some housework. I hate housework. But I love when I get in the zone and clean, clean clean and my house looks so good afterwards. And then my emoticon emoticon destroy it again. Got to love them !!!!

I have a busy day here getting ready to host Easter dinner. It's the first time we have hosted in a very long time. I just wanted to be in the comfort of my own home to celebrate this year so I am not sure if it was laziness or craziness that made me decide to host - lol. Anyways, I am looking forward to having the family over tomorrow.

finally back on my trackers... whew ... with the kids birthday on Monday our WiFi Access went down, completely. Of course exactly that day what is the bad food day here (of course, with the kids birthday you bring cake and icecream for them on the table, not salads ^^) i was not able to track anything in my food tracker, i would have felt sooo much better knowing i did not go overboard with calories and co. - of course you watch what and how much you eat but still bc your diet looks sooo different than that one day you would like to know if you stood on your path or if not ... anyay, i will never really know and that i lost instead gaining tells me it def wasn't totally wrong what i did . ;o)

It's a beautuful day here in D.C. I think I'm going to go for a morning walk tomorrow before work.

Anne, the other two women are a little heavy but not as much as my best friend. So, I'm thinking because they also need to loose weight they thought I was being unpleasant. I don't know but we all are good. And I'm having Easter dinner with my best friend and her family Sunday so I may pull her to the side and we can have a one on one.

My concern is her health not her size !!!!

I disagree with the other women. Do they need to lose weight and you didn't offer to help them? I would think that offering to help would be something a very wonderful friend should do. Some times people just say the weirdest things

A co-worker and I were talking about Cheeze-its yesterday. She's addicted. emoticon

Question/Thought: My best friend doesn't want to do our yearly ritual of going to opening day at an amusement park. She went to the doctor the other day and was told she weighs 290 lbs and she feels she won't fit on the rides.

So I tell her if she works on it now (and I will help her) she can loose 50 pounds by September and we can go then. The other two women said I was insensative about her weight problem.

The thing is this isn't the first time the four of us have talk about weight/health issues. So I don't know where I went wrong in their eyes.

Thinking out loud.

The sun was out and it felt like a very cool, early spring day. I got out for a walk to enjoy the weather. I also knocked off a few things from my to-do list. A fairly productive day overall.

That car will get a wash sooner or later....mine needs it too but I didn't get the snow.

Water all in for the day. I fill a 64 oz jug and keep it with me. One at home and one at work. When gone, I'm done....haven't missed a day since I started this.

Two workouts done for a total of 30 minutes. Anything else is extra! More is good today, considering my terrible Saturday

I spent this weekend doing much of NOTHING !!!

I wanted to hand wash my car but it was colder than I thought so no clean car but the snow today took care of the outside at least. Where did that snow come from? lol

I tried Spark's Rotisserie Chicken in the slow cooker recipe - Delicious !!!! I'll try it with rosemary next time.

Got my 45 minute workout in this morning before work. emoticon On a mission to do four more emoticon
