Im gonna give this a try. I pledge to do 500 minutes of exercise. I hope to get in at least 300 this week.


Sun.-45-was a busy day
Mon.45 min. before work
Tue.30 min. after work. Im trying to get more time in but there are too many interuption
Wed.
Thur.-30min. lots of running around
Fri.-30 min. before work
Sat.-240 min. lots of walking today

420 minutes all together not bad. More than I thought I would do.

I feel like a wimp after reading some of the post on here with the pledge, but I am not in that great of shape yet, so I guess I will be happy at the place I am while I am on the way to better health!! Thanks for making me feel better. I don't go to a gym. There is only one in the town where I live, and it is too pricey for my budget at the moment. Most of my exercise is on the treadmill and exercises DVDs.

Please, don't feel like a wimp! I have my minutes based on going to the gym with my husband M-W-F every week. It is a social occassion as well as a workout. In our county, we have a beautiful Sports Complex which is free for seniors M-W-F if we arrive before noon. I chat with friends while I do an hour on the treadmill as well as using all the weight machines. I am enjoying myself so much, it is hard to think of it as exercise. We also have a wonderful pool where we can do waterwalking. I spend anywhere from an hour to two hours doing that after my cardio and strength training.
I am grateful that my county gives us such a wonderful freebie, and happy my husband loves this as much as I do. Our doctor is quite pleased with this, also, as you might imagine.
So, just because we are retired and have the opportunity to take advantage of this, it doesn't make me more committed. I am just lucky to be able to do this.

Saturday: 10 min yoga...30 min fitness ball....15 min recumbent bike....15 min elliptical.
Sunday: 90 minutes...went on a hike with my hubby and I'm so proud I got 3/4 up the mountain!
