I am the Cubs and Bears Den leader. With 3 sons I am not surprised to have this calling. It is going to be my life story, I have a feeling. Most days I really enjoy it. But there are those days that all I want to do is pull my hair out.

I'm currently the primary chorister, which I think is such an important job because the children really learn the gospel through the primary songs.

I've had a musical calling for so many years, and to be honest, I'm really sick of it. There are a ton of musical people in my ward, and they all refuse to consecrate that particular talent because they've all been burnt out. Now I know how they feel!

The church is always in need of more people who play the piano and are willing to sing in choir.

My dream calling would be Gospel Doctrine teacher or Relief Society teacher, but I think I'm in music for life.

Self-discipline is remembering what you really want. - Pam Young

I can relate to Exertiger! I once thought that because I play the piano, I would always have a calling related to music! Over the years, though, I have had other opportunities as well. I am currently teaching the fourth Sunday lesson in Relief Society and loving it!

I'm 1st Counselor in the Primary Presidency. It's a big change since I've been in YW callings since I was 19 years old! I've only spent maybe a year in Relief Society in my whole life. Kinda sad cause I would love to spend some time with the sisters, but what can you do?! I do love the little ones.

As a piano teacher, I'll tell you it's never too late to start, or start again, or even resume. The church always needs more music people, and it's another talent you may have hidden. emoticon

I really regret not keeping up with it when I was 7 yrs old. lol I should take lessons again, but I don't feel like I could catch on..

I used to do that in my last ward which had more than enough pianists. My current ward was desperate for piano help, so I got both callings as soon as my records arrived. That was 3 years ago...

My favorite bible story was always Daniel. He always stood up for what was right no matter what. I think I need to be more like that.

My favorite BoM story would have to be the army of Helaman. My son loves that story, anything with weapons you know. Another story of doing right regardless of consequences.

When I was younger my two favorite scriptures for "family reading" were 1- And my father dwelt in a tent. 2- And Jesus wept. Of course they were a fave because they were short and I was smugly refusing to do what I was told. LOL Now as an adult I admit "And Jesus Wept" is still my favorite scripture simply because of the gravity of it. The son of God CRIED just like I cry. And why did he cry? It's an amazing thing to think about. Anyway, that is my absolute favorite scripture.

My favorite scripture is D&C 122, when Joseph is in jail and is feeling hopeless and sad. HF says that all of these hard (terrible) things are happening for his good (his betterment) and that we can gain comfort from the fact that Christ has suffered all of this and more. I would read that over and over when I was seperated and going thru my divorce. I was so sad and devestated about the whole thing. These verses gave me the strength to go thru each day and to have hope that things would become better (and less painful) some day.
When you are having a particularly painful trial, I suggest reading this section on your knees and then praying for the comfort of the Holy Ghost to reassure you of the passing of all trials.

Mosiah 4:2-3, 6-8

Why did King Benjamin's people want the Lord's mercy?

What did they do to recieve his mercy?

What resulted from the Lord extending His mercy to them?

***we are starting in Mosiah since that's where our SS lessons are.
